  1. Mine lasted 9.5 years. Replaced it yesterday. Car bought new in March of 2013.
  2. Yep, I have not had a problem with my 2013 Hybrid but will get it checked out when parts are available. Not a concern.
  3. Yesterday on the way to the dealer for another issue I realized my radio sound wouldn't adjust, I couldn't change stations or bands. The weirdest part is I couldn't turn the radio off, even if I turned the car off. The dealer tells me it needs a new audio module and it would cost $684 parts and labor. I decline and have them pull the fuse to keep the battery from draining. After reading this post I reinstalled the fuse this morning and everything is working normally. 2013 SEL.
  4. It replaced the 2012 Fusion, not the 2013 C-Max but I added a 2020 Honda CRV Touring to the garage. I went with the FWD 1.5T. Very nice car. I am sure the hybrids are nice too. The only complaints I am hearing are about the AVAS (Acoustic Vehicle Alert System) and the Idle-Stop System. They work as advertised but the new owners don't like them. The C-Max only has about 58k on it but it still has the original tires, battery and transmission. Yes, I am knocking on wood.
  5. I bought a Noco Genius5 and I'm very happy with it. There are numerous options and connecters available for it. Got mine through Amazon. https://no.co/genius5
  6. Over the last twelve months I'm getting 43.1 mpg.
  7. Go to the Ford Etis site and put your VIN number in under the 'Vehicle' tab. It will show you the Outstanding Field Service Actions. http://www.etis.ford.com/vehicleSelection.do
  8. As you mention by the book the oil should be changed when the computer says so not to exceed one year or 10k miles. Keep in mind the car does come with synthetic blend oil. Either the blend or full synthetic could easily go 10k miles in this car where the ICE is not running full time. The bigger danger is contamination. I chose to stick with the synthetic blend and change it at 5k miles. I have the dealer perform The Works which is relativiely cheap and everything gets checked, tire rotated, etc. I find keeping tracking of 5k intervals is easier to monitor. I am not trying to sell my way of doing things. I'm just sharing.
  9. The light indicates one of your tires is under inflated. Inflate the tires to the recommended pressure (see drivers door pillar for correct PSI). Closely monitor the tire that was low for awhile to see if it loses air pressure. If it does you most likely have a nail or something similar in the tire. Do NOT take it out yourself. Take the car (or wheel) to your dealer or tire repair shop for repair. Good luck,
  10. I intended to buy the Ford warranty from Anderson & Koch. At the time I could get a 7 year / 100k mile warranty with a $200 deductible for $955. The price goes up as the car get older. I printed the information and gave my local dealer the chance to match it which they did.
  11. I received my 2nd MPG check on Thursday. A total of $1025. It more than paid for my 7 year / 100k mile extended warranty. Wow! I love this car. I haven't had any maintenance issues other than 5k oil changes / tire rotation and updates.
  12. Welcome. Great car and lots of good information here.
  13. Wow. The C-Max has turned into an investment that pays dividends.
  14. I agree with the WD40. Works great.
  15. I had been following the new Escape for over a year and went to the dealer to buy one and found the C-Max. It had all the utility I needed and a big boost in gas mileage. I went the C-Max route and it is working well.
  16. Shinytop, I have an SEL with the 302a package. The automatic liftgate is one of those things you don't think you need until you have it. Then you don't want another vehicle without it. Necessary? No. Neat? Oh yeh.
  17. The kick to open / close is great. One of those features that once you have you wouldn't want to live without. My wife had our dachshund at the vet one day this week. When returning to the car the dog was on a leash and they walked behing the car. The dog walk under the rear bumper and opened the hatch (wife had her fob in her purse). My wife said she stood there and laughed.
  18. I agree about there being no need to update every year. The A4 software update will work for me for awhile longer. In car nav systems aren't cheap but they are considerably cheaper than they were a few years ago.
  19. I was shopping for a small SUV and was seriously considering the Escape. I wasn't overly excited about the gas mileage and started looking at the C-Max. It has all the utility I need so it fits the bill for me. Four wheel drive and high wheel clearance weren't important to me. That said, I'm not sure it will pass the legal test in MD.
  20. I have a 2013 SEL that was built in Feb. 2013. I bought it in March so it is now 13 months old and has 15k miles on it. I have not experienced the battery problem or any other failure. My car has only been to the dealer for routine maintainence and updates. ...and yes I am knocking on wood.
  21. Welcome to the family. I've had my 2013 Ruby Red SEL for 11 trouble free months and it is still a blast to drive.
  22. I don't know what issues others are experiencing but my C-Max has been a great car. A buy back is the farthest thing from my mind.
