  1. I'll add two items: 1. Please show the gear selected AT the gear selector. Unless you happen to stop with your wheels straight ahead the steering wheel blocks the dash display making gear selection a guessing game! 2. This is a big one. I suggest that the behavior of the automatic rear hatch be completely changed. While the foot under the bumper is cute , it is inconvenient if not dangerous for short people who have to get too close the activate the hatch. (Ask my wife who now hates it after being hit in the head by the hatch.) This is how it should work. When you approach the rear of the C-Max and get within key-fob rage the C-max should (using the same technology used in laser levels) paint a bright yellow line on the ground indicating where it is safe to stand. Stay in range, but in the safe zone and the laser line should over ten seconds change from left to right from yellow to red, indicating a count down. Move out of range before 10 seconds and nothing happens. Stay still until the safety line turns red and the hatch will open, missing you because your behind the safety line. No need to do the auto hatch dance or risk being hit by the hatch to get it to open! Oh Just thought of a third: 3. Give us memory seats like in the Edge.
  2. I am starting this topic with the hope that it will somehow be reviewed by FORD engineers. Put your suggestions or requests for future improvements here.

  4. At 79 grand I think I'll wait for Ford's solution!
  5. I would love to see an F-150 Energi. Raising the bed level by a few inches would make room for one BIG battery, and in a truck you need torque - something electric drive can deliver! A F-150 Energi would be a very effective vehicle.
  6. My wife also has a lead foot, so much so that when I ride as a passenger there is a real possibility of motion sickness! However the C-Max is improving her diving style! It may seem silly, but she enjoys growing leaves, which requires a much smoother driving style - Go C-Max! :yahoo:

    50+mpg trips

Here is our latest outing to BJ's in Danbury CT.
  8. OK, I'll find it and post over there.
  9. Today I used the C-max to run a few errands ( It is actually my wife's car, but this afternoon she was all mine I zoomed to the bank and then to Subway to pick up some dinner. No high MPG driving - I blew off a few leaves, but I had fun! I got really used to the C-max's precise "fly by wire" strearing, and super brakes. Then when I got back in my good old F-150, the strearing and brakes felt sloppy! It was like I was drive one of my OLD Fords.
  10. I think Ford should have introduced the C-Max in Florida. If the press had tried out the C-Max in warm weather we might have not had the MPG Kerfuffle. As the weather warms getting 47mpg + with our C-max is the norm. Here is our latest trip to BJ's:
  11. I hope not. I am not too worried. Electronics usually exhibit flaws within the few hours of use, otherwise they chug along unless affected by some outside force like a power surge, fried capacitor, or physical damage to change things. Of course the up coming software update has the potential of taking down the whole system. This is microsoft after all! ;) We just have wait and see. BTW went to BJ's today typical CT trip of about 8 mile with many hills and twisty roads. It was warm today (finally!) so AC on set to 70. 51.2 mpg. :)
  12. We took delivery of our new c-max Thursday. After reading this forum for weeks before delivery I was sure we were in for a world of hurt. I was sure our older version of MFT would direct me to drive into the middle of Candlewood lake (that is if it worked at all). I thought I would have to rescue my wife from dead batteries. And we would most likely have to replace TPM sensors after having to fill a flat tire with goo. But no, everything with our new c-max (white SEL with 302a) has been fine. My wife loves it and brags about how many leaves she has earned (She likes the leaves.) Even the much miligned MFT has been ok with the little triangle staying on the road with us. I am not al all trying to minimize the problems reported here. Those people with c-max problems deserve solutions - and FAST- from Ford, but I realized the the folks here do not represent a good sample of all c-max owners. Those with problem are going to be attracted to this forum to look for solutions and share their experiences. Those who are having no problems are have no incentive to find us, so reading many of the problem threads here will lead you to the wrong impression of the c-max, If all c-max owners were having all these problems, it would not be selling as well as it is. As far as MPG goes. Last night I drove from our garden shop to our local diner for dinner. I got 134mpg! Ok, OK, it was only 2miles and all down hill, but it was still a fun number to see on the dash. So keep anticipating the arrival of your new C-max, when it arrives your going to love it!
  13. I did not find this this topic, so I decided to start one. Number one on my interior wish list is a driver's side memory seat. The seat should be tied to the key fob so when I approach the c-max the seat and mirrors automatically adjust to my settings. This thought just lead to another. Since the C-Max sees me as a unique user (tied to my fob) it should adjust to each user recording their milage, selecting their phone from the list of available phones, remembering the last media played, etc. - In effect the C-max should support multiple user accounts! :) Not only would this be incredibly useful, but it fits in with Ford's philosophy of thinking of their new vehicles as technology platforms - and would really make the C-max stand out among the competition. Your welcome Alan Mulally. The idea is all yours - free of charge! ;) Now lets make it happen.
  14. Similar story: We went to our dealer to order a C-Max SEL today expecting a two month wait. We ask if he could do one more search and he found one in New York only 80 miles away. We pick it up Thursday! :) There was a second bonus this one is white. My wife likes colorful cars ( just lived two years with an orange Edge) and wanted candy blue - I prefer the white. :)
