Ford Escape PHEV delayed to 2021 after Kuga fire-risk recall in Europe

My Ford dealer suggested that the Escape PHEV's that already had a vin would be sold in 2021 as 2020's

Looks like there have been a few... C-max Fires But may have been the charger rather than the batteries.

Maybe it was in L(low) instead of Drive.

Paul I sent the info above about 2020 PHEV you posted to my Ford salesman. They replied back... We have this same information but we have twelve units already in the order bank with 2020 vins assigned. We don't have confirmation that those would be reallocated as 2021's. There are currently about 200 showing in production for the Los Angeles and San Francisco Regions. They are also 2020 models with vins. I guess we will all have to keep on waiting to see what is going to happen with those!

Yeah, Ford has some work to do to clean up the problem areas. Remember the 2013 C-max had a half dozen recalls.

So you were probably at 3.6 sync version. There is a way to reinstall older versions but I think you have to edit the installer script to fool it into installing a release that is older than the current.

I also got "User Suspended" for a couple days but it came back online yesterday and I was able to login normally. Made we wonder if they were finally importing all the old energi records in the database.

Does the bell sound normally come from the sound system or is there a separate speaker?

2013's may have a transmission problem. With 114k it may or may not already been replaced. 2016 would be a better choice.

Did you look in sunken compartment below and behind the passenger seat? There should be a tire compressor and sealant.

Interesting idea. How about a 2nd set of identical batteries with a switch for charging or discharging. Taking twice the space and doubling your range. You would have to flip the switch to change to the 2nd set.

My dealer finally got back to me on Escape Plug-in availability. They are currently being built, expect to see them in 30 days

Try shining a flashlight at the parts at varied angles, doing this I was able to read all the numbers but it was difficult.

The newest version of Sync 2 (3.10) removes the Vehicle Health Reports from the sync menu's.

3.10 is out there on the internet if you search. I found a copy and installed it. Works fine for me. The file was on the fusion forum. I have been running it a couple years now. Here are the file names that worked on my 2013 Hybrid. You expand the files on a dos formatted usb drive.

Yeah the rav4 is not the best looking. The white Rav4 front end remind me of a Star Wars stormtrooper. After reading the reviews for Rav4 I posted above I have shifted back to the Escape or BEV.

Just looked at reviews for Rav4 & Escape on KBB. Rav4 did not have good reviews, lots of problems. The Escape all had good reviews but there was only 5 total.
