  1. I think a 2016 or newer with low miles would be a better choice to avoid the transmission problem and to get the sync 3 software.
  2. Nice car. Looks like mine when new. If it has original tires they are about 7 years old. I'm changing my tires next summer only 56k on them now. Have dealer put on the latest version (10) of sync 2. Don't think I would mess with the brakes or battery if they seem to be working fine. Oh, the tire sealant in the compressor kit has expired, get them to give you a new canister too. :)
  3. This video should work for you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=la4xgqgx3IA
  4. How about ground clearance & turning radius. How did the braking feel?
  5. It's Microsoft, just needed to be rebooted!
  6. Got into drivers seat in my car today, did not start the car and sat there waiting for my wife to get in the car. Remembered that I forgot something in the house. As soon as I opened the door to go get it the alarm started counting down on the dash and suggested I start the car. Started the car to avert the honking alarm. Is this normal operating for the car alarm? Tried to repeat it later in the day and couldn't get it to repeat. Seems like unlocking/opening the door with my fob in my pocket should have also disabled the alarm.
  7. My 2013 Hybrid was 47/47/47, but Ford paid me hush money 2 years in a row to keep my mouth shut. :) Actual Lifetime MPG 45.1 so not complaining.
  8. Would Ford work on a converted car if it breaks in the future? Even if it is not a sync problem would they refuse to repair the car?
  9. Had a strange event this week. Had my fob in my jean pocket. I went to put something in the back seat and then changed my mind, so closed the side door and went to the back of the car and opened the hatch and put the item in the car and closed the hatch. Went in the house for a few minutes and came out and opened the driver door and sat down. The dash said to start the car immediately or the alarm would sound. I pressed the unlock button on the door but the warning on the dash was still there so I just started the car. No idea what triggered this event.
  10. Been getting good mpg's this summer. Lifetime is 45.0 mpg. Below is my current tank and a half mpg's. Wife forgot to reset counter when she filled up. Colder days are coming so expect it to start dropping soon.
  11. We drive short trips most of the time <5 miles. In 6.5 years never had a dead battery. I think the problem is some cars the current draw continues after shutdown. Difficult problem to troubleshoot. We also listen to the radio after shutdown too.
  12. Does the converter ever turn off if it senses the battery is fully charged?
  13. C-max mileage goes down in cold weather and due to being so low to the ground a lot of snow will be a problem.
  14. My fob went through the wash yesterday. Didn't work last night after sitting all day so I disassembled it last night and put it back together, this morning works fine. This is the 2nd time this has happened in 6 years. Dodged another bullet!
  15. Sounds like it will be difficult to find. Possibly a mechanical intermittent of the electronics/electrical connectors & wiring.
  16. What does it do when it shuts off? Does it go through any warnings or a normal shut off sequence like you pressed the off button on the dash?
  17. See if they will tell you where the short is. If its in the cabling/connectors you might be able to repair it. Dealers tend to replace anything defective.
  18. Wow and that was on a hybrid right? Thanks. Better than I thought. FYI I think Ford ok'd use of 0w-20 in 2014 for C-max.
  19. The clear one that the arrow points to is the backup light, have someone put car in reverse with their foot on the brake to make that one light up.
  20. What size was the fuse that blew compared with the spec on the air compressor?
  21. You can start the car with the radio on, then turn off the car and see how long the radio runs before turning off. It should run 10 minutes if they reset the BMS. If not take it to a different dealer to have it reset.
  22. Last trip to my local Walmart I noticed they had removed all the Motorcraft filters so had to go with Fram. They still carry the Mobile One 0W-20 however.
  23. Just changed the oil on my son's 2016 C-max Energi. Uses it for commuting, drives 60 miles/day about 20 miles of it is electric. Used Mobile One synthetic 0W-20 extended miles. Oil says its guaranteed for 15000 miles. I assume that is for normal ICE vehicle. So how many miles could he go before changing oil again? Has anyone tested the Mobile One Oil in their car?
