  1. If you travel a lot for work why didnt you get a diesel which gets better mpg on the hwy? I agree sell private party is always better than trade in Check out Edmunds.com for the comparison prices for trade in vs private sale etc
  2. the cmax has an A U X jack the last time i looked in the pix and specs for the audio. i would think most cars today would.
  3. yup love the door system on my Passat SEL Premium. Sad to hear C-Max doesn't have something similar.
  4. I get 3yr /36,000 mi free maintenance on my current car. does Ford do this on the c-max and others in their line and if not how much are the first 3 scheduled one's cost for those who have had yours a while now (over 30,000 mi) and if not why don't they match this of other car mfg ´s?
  5. im sure it was either a cost issue or a USA regulations/safety legality thing. perhaps Ford does surveys after ownership and ask what you liked and didn't so you can request it there.
  6. as for the stickers i am a geocacher (fun hobby of disovering hidden containers hidden all around the world with swag inside and a log book) and many cachers use a car sticker on the back of their car of a thing called a trackable travel bug which has a unique identifying code and the other cachers can log in to the geocaching site and log that they "discovered" the person by their trackable code and also lets them see all the places the person has visited. obviously you aren't cachers but same idea. if youlove hiking/outdoors or have kids check it out as its a lot of fun. http://www.geocaching.com
  7. vw is working on a hybrid diesel plugin electric SUV. it was recently debuted at a car show to gage interest. as for the neg press on the C-max, i think they are waiting to hear what the epa does about re-running the tests on it and if they agree they need to change their methods with Fords help on why this car is unique. alot of early reviews of low mpg could be traced to breakin and cold weather at launch. and now we can prove them wrong with many getting over the epa rating with 600+ mi tanks. i do wish there was some new news/updates to report from officials.
  8. scuba - yes of course. when i mentioned it and asked for the fast break rep most almost laughed at me. some acted like they never heard of it. some made it seem like there was no perk for being a FB member. anyways i will hold off for a while i guess ron - nice find but that place is all the way on the West side maybe 30 miles away from me. it's not even close. nice to see they have such a thing for those who want only hybrids.
  9. you dont have to use the voice commands right away, if at all in the beginning. just learn one thing at a time. and if you know a teenager relative or friend make use of them to help help you with the tech. it comes second nature to them. :)
  10. I requested a quote from my State Farm agent last week and asked about any hybrid discounts.I will post his reply and info later when I can.
  11. tell them to send some to my area. i forgot to post an update but all my calls to the places you all mentioned even with all the tips/tricks suggested did not work for me. they did not have any in inventory fleet and would not transfer from one rental place to my local rental even if i didnt care about a specific wait time or date. the trip my wife and i took to san diego last week would have been the perfect 3 day test of the cmax as we drove in all scenarios of 65-75 mph fwy speeds, stop and go, city driving, and nice backroads at 35-45 mph. my vw gas passat sel got great mileage on the trip (about 34 mpg avg) so im not complaining but still want to test the cmax out. if anyone in so. cal. here is successful at renting a cmax sel, please tell me how and with who and the exact place so i can call them up. it seems many are independent franchises and dont have to follow the corporate stuff and programs or treats you like they could care less. i was on the line for several minutes with one lady and she did seem sincere and really tried to help me but that wasnt the norm. :( help us rent a cmax :sos: :sos:
  12. with so many TSBs on this car I think it's time to create a thread to capture all the CMax TSBs in one post with links for new owners to have them all in one place. anyone up to the task? Edited 6/18 for: fixed tabs to read TSBs.
  13. congrats. not too bad on wait time. nice to get a fully loaded ons.we plan to do the same less a sunroof. hope you have no issues like the early adopters here. be sure to post your results, likes, dislikes etc
  14. for those tracking fuelly mpg numbers i would suggest taking out the highest and lowest values and then calculate the average, mean and standard deviation of the remaining values. actually there are several suspicious values from cmax haters who maliciously post fake values (check their fuelly names for a good quick check of validity). it might be a good practice to ignore any fuelly.com number for those with less than 4 or 5 tank fills as that would make sure they have some breakin miles as well.
  15. @Snit- did you use the partial fill and trip settings from dealer/test drivers, or your own full fill and trip reset? I would think for new owners, the best would be to drive it for a day or two then fill it up, reset trips and lifetime avgs, and THEN start tracking your mpg numbers as im sure dealers may not full fill to clickoff point or trips are messed up by the test drivers playing with the dials/buttons before a purchase. and was that 49 mpg hand calculated (miles driven divided by gallons to fill tank at pump) or going just by what the dash showed showed you got? Also can you show show a pix your screen with the coach AND empower at the same time and describe how to get that mode for us future cmax owners.thanks
  16. jaz- nothing wrong with old school as long as you track it thats what is important
  17. we're not worthy dude. totally awesome!!!
  18. nice job for a point and shoot. Im trying to decide which to get to replace my dead Canon 800IS. I heard many of the new canon ps had lens error issues. I have a G12 and the 60D but need a point and shoot for pocketableness ;) looking at the S110 but heard many didnt like the flush buttons for the 4 way rocker the 24mm at the wide end is a must as it really makes a dramatic difference in the pix.
  19. I noticed in your write up you didn't mention the "L" position button on the side of the gear selector for engine braking assist downhill and how it factored into the mpg equation if any.
  20. may want to ask on the cmax facebook site as they have reps reading and replying to questions pretty quickly (some in private message) www.facebook.com/FordCMax
  21. @mtb - which dealer has the largest cmax inventory nearest to my zip 90605? thanks
  22. scubadad - you would update on fuelly and then download a csv file exported from fuelly then import it into acar. no box.net or other cloud storage integration yet it seems.
  23. nice pix. do you mind telling us your gear. looks like dslr quality. i am a hobby photographer so i like to know what others use to get their shots. based on the sky it looks like you are using a polarizer on the lens, or doing some nice edits afterwards. i shoot with a Canon 60D right now and 2 zooms and 2 prime lenses. keep it up.
