  1. sorry about the link i fixed it in my original post go to www.safercar.gov then click on the Vehicle Owners tab at the top
  2. only 10 official complaints for Cmax for ALL issue types not just dead batteries so... everyone needs to post their battery complaints here: www.safercar.gov then click on the vehicle owners tab at the top [edited to correct link info]
  3. i hope everyone with this battery is filing an official complaint thru the TSB site for those those thousands of cmax owners (or potential owners, like me and my wife) who have no clue about this forum/thread, so it gets widespread attention and a real fix.keep track of all your details i only see 10 complaints showing here for ALL issues and there have been 20-30+ users here here it seems with this issue. please post your info asap for visibility for all http://www.safercar.gov/Vehicle+Owner
  4. only issue with asking option package package is it doesnt help narrow down problem since not everyone could afford higher options and took lower one (or didnt care for some of those option pacs). also production qtys were not same for all option packages. also many cmaxes will sit on lot and never be sold and will end up as rentals. it does help show if it affects all option pqckages but thats about it. without knowing the total produced for each package it doesn't help much. suggest adding question on what mileage it happend first at.
  5. hmm interesting and quite possible if Ford used 2 different suppliers for a key part of the engine or system that directly affects fuel econ.
  6. 1) I highly suggest adding a light light tint to all windows to reduce inside temps 2) try lowering all windows when (or before) getting in to let out the accumulated heat. then drive with windows windows down for a while before closing them and turning on max AC with recirculation on to get get it close to a comfortable temp then turn to auto 3) 73 to 75 should be comfortable enough if you try it for a while. im sure 72 and under will decrease mpg significantly. 4) since cmax doesnt have a tilt up top, heat will build up inside so crack the windows a little when parked to let out the excessive heat. 5)use a white or reflective sun shade on front window when parked. that large front window lets in a lot of light and heat. 6) park facing away from the sun whenever possible
  7. ill be in the same boat. cmax will be my wifes car but i will take it when i can so i can post my reviews and info/results here. cant wait
  8. count yourself very lucky to find one for rent. ive struck out everywhere even with all the suggestions given to me me on how to get one. :(
  9. link for the Ford 4 page brochure doesnt wirk for me please check [edit: finally got it. thanks]
  10. try 72 or 73 degrees instead of 76. its still comfortable but wont use as much much power
  11. see it here too on my Kindle Fire HD. it does take up space and blocks reading the posts so you have to scroll above/below to be able to read.
  12. yes make sure you copy the bcc code not the html code into your signature here . html doesnt work. regarding what you are looking for when you go into your profile look for a little *tiny* gold colored badge. when u find it then it will give you the code to copy/paste 1) log in 2) click on your your vehicle name on left pane with the key 3) scroll all the way down on the page to find the little icons like facebook and rss and twitter. the last icon of the icon group on the right is yellow/gold badge/shield. click on that (its to t he left of the words/link "[View all Fuelups]" 4) choose BBcode not html 5) copy/paste the code into signature here
  13. dont get the black. way too hot and stays clean only in a showroom. grey film build up quickly takes away that WOW factor. scratches and swirl marks immediately after you buy it dont go black. you will thank me later
  14. @darrelld looks like u and i will have similar family of cars with the passat and cmaxes. i dont have the tdi as i dont drive enough hwy driving to do diesel. i do love being able to use regular gas again after last 2 rides used premium (2004.5 VW Passat GLX and 1995 Ford Probe GT)
  15. when i read about the crossblue i was excited as that would have been the perfect car 4 my wife as she loves suvs. but cant wait that long 4 it to cone out so... looking at the cmax now the vw x blue is a NICE looking car quoted text: A VW Diesel Hybrid may be coming sooner than you think. http://jalopnik.com/5975690/vw-crossblue-concept-screw-you-were-making-a-diesel-hybrid-suv-out-of-a-golf http://insideevs.com/volkswagen-extended-range-crossblue-suv-gets-production-approval-for-
  16. you can get nice beanbag mount for the garmin with an attachment cradle so it sits on the edash. here in CA its illegal to have gs mounted to front glass. http://www.amazon.com/Garmin-010-10908-00-Portable-Friction-Mount/dp/B000LRMS66/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1367999646&sr=8-2&keywords=garmin+bean+bag+mount GPS has been intermittently going off course 0.2 miles (so keeps trying to lead us back to the freeway!). Very irritating since getting the built-in GPS was why we paid more and got the 301A package. Our old Garmin is soooo much better but my husband hates the distraction of having it on windshield. Today the car was in for first oil change and they did TSB 13-3-11 for the problem. Just read the previous comments on this topic, hmm. I'll let you know later if it doesn't work.
  17. not sure as we dont have a max yet butmost new cars let u setup it up in the menus.my vw has this an an option on the mfi for all open or fronts open or all. goodluck
  18. i pulled the data from the feuleconomy.gov site today and started the analysis and will contine with fuelly. we have more data fields to play with on fuelly to see any correlations but there are definite loser data in there. you can tell by the names used. i may remove those from the analysis. on fueleconomy we dont have the details and names so we can't tell as much. im going to try to pull avg temps for each state for 2012 to determine (prove) the colder states do indeed get lower mpg. when im done i can share the excel file on the files site (box.net or other) for those that want details and post the summary here for those that dont
  19. not happy to hear the SEL will be removed.
  20. here is the info on the 2014s from the official facebook page. they replied to one of my posts: "Orders for the 2013 model are open until 8/23. But if you want a 2014 model, it looks like order bank will open on 5/13 with initial production starting 7/8/2013. Your dealer should have the 2014 C-MAX Hybrid Order Guide with details on the 2014 model hopefully by 5/13. Hope this helps."
  21. cool. i know the competition has these. im sure they help with improving gas mileage. early adopters who dont have this screen are prob the ones who are posting all those low fuelly numbers ;) cant wait to try it out once we get ours
  22. have to also worry about the losers at fuelly who created bogus accounts to fudge/ruin the cmax mpg numbers lower on purpose !!  median would help with those for sure taking out the highest and lowest values in a data set are also common techniques to minimize skewed data
