wamba2000
Jus-a-cmax, thanks for the link. I just ordered a Patriot micro flash drive from NewEgg, got 32Gb for $21 and free shipping. Man, I remember when these things were $40 for 128 Megabytes.... I should be able to load a ton of music. One confirmation, and I think you already said this: You leave the USB in teh slot all the time, it does not run when the CMax is shut down. Let me know if I got that worng

Let me know if I got that worng I don't think I will fill mine, its ridiculous the storage we get now in such a tiny thing. Yeah, I leave mine in there unless I am downloading. Also, to alleviate you concerns with the battery issue. This is what I do: just before I turn off my SEL, I put the handbrake on, make sure my feet is not touching any of the pedal and just press the OFF circle button. No issue with the battery at all. Also, I make sure nothing is plugged into the cigarette lighter (I have my phone charger that runs off this) as I noticed that my phone charge is still on (it has a cool blue light) when everything is off and locked. Jus-A-CMax
I'd love to see a picture of your Toygers. Small animal vets do charge the earth. We used to have a small farm and had six horses. Our horse vet would make a barn call give all six horses vaccinations and float their teeth and be at the barn for an hour and half and the bill would be under $300. Prior to finding Auntie Jenn, I would take Tink in because her appetite was off and she seemed lethargic and the bill would be $300 by the time they did blood work and other tests in a 30 minute visit. Auntie Jenn lays off on all the pricey tests until she is proven wrong with her first hunch. She is the type if she hears hoof beats she looks for a horse and not a zebra. We are lucky to have her. This is Tigger aka Lil Boy. Youngest of the 2. Tiger 2 aka The Big Kitters. Oldest and just 2 yrs old now. Laurel
valkraider
Does the MFT index every time you start the car or switch inputs? Or is it just mine? I have about 2600 songs on one of those teeny sandisk ones pictured above. It reindexes any time I change inputs of restart the car. And it takes 30+ minutes to index... Jus-A-CMax
Hmmmmh...now and then I notice the "Indexing..." message. I did not think much of it as I have had no performance issues with my MFT playing my playlists or any of the songs. I will keep a tab on it. Laurel
Jus-A-CMax your two Toygers are amazingly lovely! I will cat sit any time if you bring them up to BC. I read about Toygers on line and it is an interesting history of getting them to look so tiger like. We have only had one cat who came with the farm when we bought it about 15 years ago. Katie was calico and a good girl. When we sold the farm a year and half ago we brought her to the townhouse with us. I worried about her adjusting from country living, but sadly she got cancer and only lived for about two months here. Must have been fate stepping in as she had the perfect cat's life on the farm--hunting mice, purring and rubbing against her favourite horses. She lived in the barn until her last two years of life and then moved herself to the house as she aged. Smart little gal.
RachelnLa
Is there a was to turn indexing off? I know on the loaner I had them set up the phone because that's something I wanted to test and she set it so it would not sunce every time I connected the phone. dtorres
Valkraider I was having that issue until I saw a thread in the Sync Forum that said it's caused by a odd character in the song names. I check my files and sure enough some songs had odd symbols in their names like $ signs. Once I removed them the index completed and it's not doing it anymore. Of course it took over an hour to check the file names for odd characters. The sad part is my 6 year old Pioneer stereo in my last car could easily handle the same odd characters with no problems. RachelnLa
Those kitties are too cute. Our cats are big puffs of hair. Yours look so silky soft.
valkraider
I ran my entire iTunes library through the SYNC tool (took 4 hours) and it supposedly fixed all the names it needed to. I'm gonna try changing the organizational structure of my files and see if that does anything different.
dtorres
The Sync tool is junk. It had absolutely no effect on my music files. It didn't stop indexing until manually correcting the odd characters.

They are sweeties indeed, all cats are and their personality is so different. The original Tiger 1 was a hoot - I can take him for a walk like a dog and he was big, 25lbs. He was one of the early Toygers so he had the burly size. Unfortunately he was cut down in his prime at 10yrs with the dreaded heart disease, took him 3 months to die and $5,000 in vet bills but we gave him a chance. It was a sad, sad loss in our house. All 3 cats came from the originator of the Toygers...http://www.toygers.org/eeyaa/index.html :)
Laurel
Our animals have always been like family too. Very difficult saying goodbye to them. I'm sorry about your loss of Tiger 1. My elderly neighbour has a big yellow tabby named Tiger who walks on his leash daily. He is fascinated by my dog Tinker so that keep one another on their toes--sniffing, hissing and swatting and tail wagging.
