11StiLimited
I did the 11 on/off cycles when I arrived home today. I will update tomorrow after work with whether or not it recognized my house.
RachelnLa
Mine took awhile to recognize my work. A few weeks at least. 11StiLimited
Jus-A-CMax
Mine is weird...when I go to the gym coming from Galpin Ford, it would find the EV+ as I approached my gym. If I took my other route, it would not recognize it. Mark this as another "X" to a CMax quirk.
Edsel
Should be an option in the EV+ menu to learn/forget current location.
C-MAXER
It learned my home PDQ within a day or two of buying it (master reset at dealership before leaving) but it hasn't learned work yet. Will try the "it goes to eleven" method and see what happens. :)
DaveofDurham
I started to use the 11 method at a location I go to almost every weekday. I got tired of this after about 4 or 5 cycles and found that was enough. Since then this location is always recognized as an EV+ location. 11StiLimited
My home was recognized today so the 11+ method seems to be working.
C-Maxgo
I just noticed the EV+ for the first time today when I got near my house. How interesting!
RetiredJohn
Waiting for my C- so I have a lot to learn. If you don't have GPS will the EV+ mode work?
MikeB
All C-Max cars have a GPS receiver, even if you don't have Navigation. The GPS module itself is actually quite cheap compared to maps and a big screen to display them. And EV+ isn't based on roads, just location, so that's all you need. C-MAXER
Will try the "it goes to eleven" method and see what happens. :) I tried it at work (actually went to 13 for luck!) and, yup, it now registers EV+. I rarely power on/off at my kids school but that whole area is a natural EV+ zone; especially since I exit the highway with a full battery to get there. Tomorrow morning I'm going to find a parking spot and perform the "11 step program" to get my 3rd EV+ site. :happy feet: 11StiLimited
11StiLimited
Waiting for my C- so I have a lot to learn. If you don't have GPS will the EV+ mode work? :confused:The GPS module is located in the SYNC system, if I am not mistaken. Ford simply found a way to use the data that was already being collected. kc1174
I'm up to 5 EV+ locations so far, which is nice. The 3x on/off method seems to work for me. My work is also by an interstate and drove past it yesterday doing 70.. EV+ kicked in for a minute as I passed by, which was surprising to say the least. Didn't think EV works past 62. Maybe my car's defective in a good way.
C-Maxgo
I just saw my second EV location. We have a place at the beach we got to monthly where I just saw the EV+. That's so cool!
C-MAXER
2nd Update: I did the 11 step program this morning at the school and upon picking up the kiddo's this afternoon, the car had set its third EV+ set point. Other than when performing the 11 step learn mode, I don't power off/on the car when I drop/pickup my kids at their school. A week later, EV+ now doesn't come on there. Hmmm. Battery is always full so that isn't it.
11StiLimited
Other than when performing the 11 step learn mode, I don't power off/on the car when I drop/pickup my kids at their school. A week later, EV+ now doesn't come on there. Hmmm. Battery is always full so that isn't it.I found my EV+ locations to be pretty useless, so I turned my EV+ mode off . For Sh*ts and Giggles, I turned it back on yesterday. It has forgotten both my stored EV+ locations. My guess is that since I turned mine off, it reset my locations. I am going to manually retrain mine and see what results I can come up with. Edited April 15, 2013 by 11StiLimited

My tint shop was stored as an EV+ location (turning the car on and off to roll up/down the windows I guess). I drive by the tint place every day and EV+ just stopped coming on when I drove by. C-MAXER
I think your right. I'm going to power on/off more there to keep it in memory.
fotomoto
. I'm going to power on/off more there to keep it in memory. One power cycle each in the morning and afternoon yesterday brought EV+ back this morning.
JohnnOhio
Mine only has my house as a location so far. I've been driving to work for almost as long and no EV+ yet. I'll try the 11 on off cycles method before I leave today. Thanks for the tip. I knew I saw somewhere that you could speed things up, but couldn't remember how. colea
I just have to ask. What Ford engineer came up with the number 11? And why?
