CarpeNivem Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 I just ran out of washer fluid the other day, without any notification whatsoever from the vehicle that I was running low. One pull of the stalk, and washer fluid sprayed with gusto. Another pull, it was weak. Two or three more pulls, and nothing. Not a drop. I was never notified the fluid was low prior to this, nor was I notified it was empty after this (not that I really needed to be, as it was pretty obvious now, but if I had received a warning I was low, I never would've let myself run out!) Now, this can only mean one of two things.... - Either, my "low washer fluid" sensor doesn't work, and so I should get that fixed. - Or, this car just doesn't have one, which seems ridiculous. Because of this, I had to stop at the nearest gas station, and over-pay for crappy generic fluid (because I couldn't go without, not in the weather that day) instead of going to an auto parts store and paying a fair price for Rain-X brand fluid. This isn't a particularly awful problem (but being far from a gas station would've been though!) but it still sucks. 666 Posted February 25, 2014 Report Share Posted February 25, 2014 also, the washer fluid tank is very small. i have once empty and it only allowed me to fill up about a bottle of fluid ~3.78L. compare to my last car, i can fill up one and a half bottle which is about ~6L. The Camry Hybrid does warn you. Our old Honda Accord Hybrid didn't. Our previous Saabs and my 2000 Chrysler did. Chryslers used to have a low windshield washer fluid light on the dash as a standard feature even on their cheapest cars. We keep an unopened (unbroken seal) bottle of windshield washer fluid in each car now so that if you ever run out while driving you just have to stop and refill. I had to stop once and do this while driving. Generally I try to check and top off the fluid every few weeks in each car to prevent us from running out ever. Duh! :doh: I also assumed my 24 thousand dollar C-Max was going to have a spare tire, and I assumed it would have a locking gas cap. I also assumed that my cell phone would work with bluetooth and the rear tires would not wear like someone forgot to design the car right and the 12 volt battery would not go dead 4 times for mysterious reasons.
