mtb9153
Found this spoiler on the web designed and mounted on a Euro CMax by a auto tuner in Germany named Loder1899. Lists it for $219US. But I can't find any contact info with them to see about having one shipped to California. This is all I've wanted to try and design myself. They made it out of urethane so why should I bother any further trying to make my own. Now if I could just contact them? fotomoto
Do they make any performance claims or is it just a cosmetic item?

wab
If you contact them keep us informed.Be sure to check on their color options. The spoiler looks like an interesting place to try your gas pods. I noticed they take "PayPal"
ScubaDadMiami
The spoiler looks like an interesting place to try your gas pods.I never would have thought of that location for placement. I would think that extending roofline would be the way to go. I wonder whether that placement does anything to improve fuel economy. Even if it doesn't, if that location serves to improve the dirt suction to the rear, I'd do that in a second.

I feel Ford missed the boat with not putting something like this from the beginning it just looks cooler to me. But what do I know I'm just an aerodynamics sort of guy. I'm assuming they mount it with high strength 3M gel adhesive? I'm not drilling any holes in my tailgate.

cmax-nynj
The CMax desperately needs a rear dust spoiler. I wonder if this can prevent some dust buildup

I'll print the picture and get an estimate Monday. wab
wab
I checked with our body shop today. $200.00 to paint the spoiler a “standard” color. $250.00 for the Platinum White, I forgot to ask about Ruby Red and Blue Candy.
mtb9153
Geez this is becoming an expensive mod to Maxus. I might not paint it to match my car, I can shoot it with Plasti-dip and change the color to suit my moods for allot less. If I buy their professional power sprayer it looks pretty good after spplying the gloss finish coat and pearlizer so it looks more like the factory color. Braker
It might not look bad in black. They also make a somewhat aesthetic only rear diffuser...
mtb9153
Yes but will not work on the hybrid cmax it was designed for the Euro CMax
mtb9153
or in shocking green or hot pink when I'm in a weird mood. Nice thing about plasti-dip is if your mood changes you can rip off the rubberized paint. Clean it and ready for another color of dip. Love this stuff. ptjones
I think this is for looks only, there doesn't appear to be any significant air flow there. :) Paul
dlapean
Well,......I kind of wonder about Water running down the window and,............sitting right their at the base of the spoiler. Not saying it would be a huge amount, but a little amount of water pooling up at the base and after a couple years,.......the appearance of rust?I once owned a Honda CRX Si which had door moldings,.......the water got under the door moldings and starting totally ruining my doors as the rust started protruding through the door and from under the door molding. Course this was after some 6 to 7 years but still. Now if you live in a "Dry" climate area, not an issue.
mtb9153
Interesting thought but I'm not worried about it where it only rains from October to May if we actually get any. As for car washing I could use my air compressor to blow off excess water.

I'm not drilling any holes in my tailgate. I’ve installed a couple of spoilers over the years. This spoiler wouldn’t change the value of the C-Max like some add-on’s do. AND it is scary drilling that first hole! It would be interesting to see the supplied installation instructions.
ptjones
I think 3M double sticky backed tape is the safe way to go, just do it right the first time. :) Paul
mtb9153
I'm with you Paul, I'm fairly certain they use 3M tape to stick it on the rear hatch. If it were mounted with hardware, I don't think there would be anyway to access from behind to tighten the hardware through holes. At least not without removing panels. ptjones
HammerCMax
So... what happened with the spoiler? Is it mounted? A picture or two for others to see would be nice.
