Marc Smith
the energi woudl be great for my daily commute 15-18 miles one way.. but the loss in floor space in the back would really hurt me during my non working activities... Jus-A-CMax
I would love to see a political map vs this map...might be a correlation there ;) Also, with dwindling gas tax revenues, gps mileage tracking is jus around the corner. I would not be surprised if my great liberal state, CA, with its super majority liberals in the legilative branch & governor - we may be the 1st state to pass this..after all, Governor Moonbeam has to make up money for the bullet train to nowhere as his lasting legacy. *sigh* Edited October 6, 2014 by Jus-A-CMax

kostby
Before you breathe a sigh of relief or go into a rage after looking at the map, please check the ACTUAL tax for your own state! The gasoline tax number shown for Indiana on that map is about double the true current gas tax. Indiana should be an 'aqua' state, not red.Even in northwest Indiana where they pay 'Chicago' prices, the state sales tax is still not even close to 42 cents per gallon. Indeed, the Indiana gas tax law changed on July 1st, 2014, but the gas tax has never approached 42 cents per gallon of gas, even when gas was selling for $4.299. The Indiana sales tax is now calculated monthly, based upon a statewide average price for the prior month, then 7% (the state sales tax rate) of that prior-month average is added.http://www.in.gov/dor/5081.htm

RockwallRick
We are somewhere in the middle at 36 cents per gallon, my Wife get's that back by buying our groceries at Winn-Dixie!
Marc Smith
honestly I'm suprised that places that have the EZpass or transponder type tolls are not issuing speeding tickets... Since they know the distance between toll booths and they know the times you hit the toll plazas it would be simple math to determine your speed...
