spyburn
Hoping someone can share their experience. Looking for a dual channel dashcam for a reasonable price. Been rear ended a couple of times and one was a hit and run and I couldn't grab my cell phone fast enough to take a picture of the idiot's plates. Read a lot of reviews and did a search in this forum. Was hoping to get some real world users take on various cameras - pros, cons, what you wish your dashcam had and what it has that's useless. Installation, ease of use, and any issues with battery drain would be good information to have as well. I know I want a dual channel so I can record the next person who causes me to have yet another new bumper put on my C-Max. Living in south Texas means it has to manage storage and operating temps that are pretty high. I definitely want an auto on off feature because I'll never remember to turn the thing on and I like the idea of the ones that turn on when they sense an impact like a parking lot hit. Please share what cam you have, what you like and don't like about it. I appreciate your input!
62Lincoln
Hi, I don't have a dash cam, but saw the linked article and remembered your thread. Hopefully there will be something here that will be helpful: http://www.msn.com/en-us/lifestyle/treatyourself/5-of-the-best-dash-cams/ss-BBh0nw2 Edited January 3, 2015 by 62Lincoln spyburn
jeff_h
Please share what cam you have, what you like and don't like about it. I appreciate your input! Sadly, here is a clip from my Garmin 20 (I bought mine for $249) that was taken on New Year's Day. The Garmin is one of the 5 listed on the OP's article noted above, and does have a feature that senses shocks and immediately saves off the file at that point, and the camera also has a button on it to enable user to remove from mount and take still pics immediately. As noted in the clip below, this model has GPS capability (many do these days, some don't) so it shows the coordinates and the road speed. vonsche
I've used this in 4 different vehicles. Works and looks great. This specific one, as they're are a lot of knockoffs with the same case but way worse chipsets advertised by other sellers on ebay/amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B015GQP020/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=
