Maxus is curious-Survey Says?

Was wondering how many of the owners who have had little or no trouble with your CMax, purchased it early in the first year of production.  Maxus was delivered in September of 2012, to date I have had no real issues other than MFT going whacko a couple times.  No battery issues.  Did have the front left turn signal bulb burn out, but that is the only real problem.  I attribute the "no battery issues" to the fact that Maxus didn't sit on the lot for any length of time.  I bought her day they drove her off the transport truck.  Also she is an SEL, seems more SE's are plagued with problems or so I think.

See my signature for the build date.

There were some TSB's that had to be taken care of by the dealer early on but relatively trouble-free in two years of ownership. The car is stil smooth, comfortable, runs great, and last tank was 660 miles and 54MPG. I have not had any MFT problems in a while so I'm very happy with it.

Build date is 19.09.2012 for ours, delivered the first week of October. We've had no issues with the battery, and have only been stranded due to our own actions. Lots of recalls, lots of time at the dealer, but I've yet to pay for anything but oil changes.

HAve fun,

Frank

No problems on 2013 Energi (SEL), built March 2013, bought mid April 2013. Likely on lot less than 2 weeks.

Further to this:

Right after the purchase, I returned the car to the dealer, as scheduled, for them to apply exterior and interior protectants.  Have not been back to the dealer since, except to pick up license plates and to visit the parts department for minor accessory bits (cargo net, etc.).

i do have recall notices out for the door chime and the restraints module replacement, but my door chime is already working as described for the fix, and the restraint control bit will continue to wait until either I get the erroneous light or the dealer notifies me that they have sufficient parts to do the non-critical cars.

Sorry to post with a 'problem' car, but have to vent today.  Last time battery went was July 3rd last year (2014) - of course as wife was preparing to go across country for a family funeral.  Been at our Ford dealer for previous 'dead battery' situations. and having bought a couple of cars there, they squeezed us in on a crazy day before the holiday for a new 12v battery.  Poor wife was stressed the whole trip about no starts at interstate rest areas or gas stops.  No problems in last 11 months.

Today, the day of our 25th wedding anniversary party, it's dead.  Started right up with portable Black and Decker jumper (model JUS300B), but man this car is pi$$ing me off!  It's totally love/hate as we love the size, fit and function, gas mileage, power band, USA marque hybrid, etc., but these dead car situations are insane.  Looking for best ways to effectively charge the 12V battery now on the forum.

Seriously considering trading it in on a Focus - the original car we went to buy when we purchased the C-Max.  I would own a non-hybrid C-Max (thousands of them in Europe) in a second.

Thanks for your time - sorry for the rant.

I have some hope the 15B04 CSP is a real fix at last.  The frustrating part of this problem is that there can be such a long time between failures.  We went 16 months between problems.  I wouldn't assume though, that the problem is directly related to the car being a hybrid - more likely because it was a new model with lots of new stuff (more chance for problems).

Hope your dealer update goes well and congratulations on the "silver".
