Louder North
My new Blackberry Classic syncs OK but only 5 entries from the phone book download to the car. I believe I have all the latest software on the phone and the car. I had a look at owner.ford.com for compatible devices and don't see this one listed any where. I've tried re-pairing several times and have done a master reset as well but the problem persists. Is this a known issue or am I stuck with 5 entries? FordIVTteam
Hi Louder North, Are the contacts that aren't loading from Outlook or any other email account? If so, they will need to be stored on your phone instead. Let me know, and we'll figure this out. :) Rebecca
Louder North
Hi Rebecca. Yes the contacts are synchronized with outlook and gmail. I can create a separate group on my blackberry and call it 'car' and then I can synchronize the car that with group.... will that work? The Blackberry contacts app includes something called 'local contacts' - is that what you meant about 'stored on the phone'? FordIVTteam
It's been a while since I've had a Blackberry, so please forgive me on my lack of knowledge. LOL! Basically, when you sync an email account, the phone automatically adds your email contacts to the phonebook, but they're not actually stored there. When you manually add a contact to your phonebook, does it ever ask you where you want to save it to: memory card, SIM card, device, cloud? Louder North
Yes Rebecca. The BlackBerry does ask me where to store the contact: local, SIM, or one of my email accounts. Which one is preferred?
FordIVTteam
Thanks for confirming that, Louder North! Let's give local a try. That should store them directly onto your phone. Rebecca
markd
Android user here but very similar, I had to move all my contacts from my Comcast and Hotmail accounts to gmail, you should try that.
Louder North
Android user here but very similar, I had to move all my contacts from my Comcast and Hotmail accounts to gmail, you should try that. My gmail contacts were not picked up either. Like Rebecca said, the contacts have to be stored on the phone - gmail / hotmail etc contacts are stored 'in the cloud' so to say and are only synchronized on the phone so that might be a barrier. Louder North
Thanks for confirming that, Louder North! Let's give local a try. That should store them directly onto your phone. Rebecca Rebecca, that did not work. Only 5 contacts (seemingly random) seem to make it across to the car. I've tried deleting the phonebook and re-downloading it but it only seems to get the same 5 people. Same result also when I delete the pairing and re-establish it.
