Trade Wind
The Ford owners' site offered Sync 3 Version 3.0 for download. I installed it today in my 2016 C-Max Hybrid. The only difference I noticed was on the 911 setup page. Two contacts from your Bluetooth connected phone can be selected as emergency contacts. Redshift
I feel quite disappointed that Ford is spending time updating Sync 3 when there are millions of Sync 2 users who are left out in the cold. djc
Duken4evr
I was finally able to get this to update to my '16. It kept giving a "bad installation file" message. The update file is over 2GB and it seemed to be choking on it. I went into the autoinstall.lst file, opened it with notepad, commented out the 1st 7 lines so it would install the 2nd half, this went smoothly, took about 3 minutes. When that completed, I turned it off, pulled the USB stick and commented out the last 8 lines (which had just installed) and removed the ; from in front of the 1st 7 lines, turned on the car, put in the USB drive and it completed the install. The 2nd session took about 15 minutes. After completing and rebooting, confirmed in settings that version 3 is installed, Android Auto up and running. :) A PDF of what I am talking about is attached. Not sure if anyone else has done this, but it works. Sync 3 Install hack.pdf Edited October 24, 2019 by Duken4evr
