Got an email from friend and needed to make a trip to the postal office and two other trips. Was running the air conditioning at 65F. Could not decrease the Energi's HVB temperature and watched it rise 8F during 14 miles of driving with four stops (parking in little shade I could find) along the way. Used scan guage II hardware to read HVB temperatures. Temperature rose to 96F. Had made a grocery trip earlier in the day and was not expecting to redrive the CMax. DID Posted August 19, 2020 Report Share Posted August 19, 2020 HI! In reading your blog on an overheating HVB on your C-Max. I thought i would ask if you know about the two radiators in the C-max. One to cool the engine and one to cool the High Voltage Battery. If you have not had them both flushed lately, I would would have them both flashed to start and see if that does not help the problem with the overheating. I usually have my 2013 and my 2016 coolin done twice a year. Check your operator's Manual To see the requirement for flushing. When the dealer maintenance shop will check out the cooling system for leaks at the same time. Let them know what it is doing and we will check it out for you. The HVB has an air cooled not liquid cooled system. There is no radiator cooling system for the HVB. The second coolant system is for the Inverter.
