CarolDelaware
I have a 2013 CMax Hybrid. Love it, but lately the electronics have gone a bit haywire. Usually starts with the radio acting up -- can't change station or volume, doesn't turn off when I turn off and exit the car. Then maybe some other strange things. Eventually, the remote door lock won't work, and the battery is clearly dead. I'd get it jumped, and it'd be fine. But it was unnerving not knowing if or when it would happen again. After working with the dealer, we determined that running down the battery and getting it jumped is effectively "rebooting the computer". He showed me how to do a manual reboot -- disconnect a thing in the back (see photo)4C6DBBED-B0A2-42E5-9ED0-7E1EFF6AE58B.heic, let it sit for 20 minutes or so, then reconnect and all is well. The radio acted up this morning, so I did that, and it's OK. While I'm glad I now have some control over when and where this might happen, it's strange. Has anyone else had this experience? Thanks, Carol
plus 3 golfer
Pull fuse 79 out from under glove box and reinsert if radio hangs up. It’s a common issue. Search forum for pics and how to access fuse panel. Second, you don’t have to remove positive red cable from battery. Instead, Remove the black cable from the stud shown in your pic as it is the battery ground - much easier.
Noah Harbinger
I've had the same thing happen twice. Both times I initially pulled the wrong fuse, which didn't help - the second time I made a note in the manual on the fuse-box page of which fuse to pull. So it will probably never happen again :)
