  1. Well got a call about my c-max and not good. It made it to SA last week but for some reason Ford asked for it back and it was put right back on the rail on it was back to the plant. The dealer said it was recalled??? any clue about recalls???

Well to say I am one pissy person right now is an understatement. I was told it could be a mistake and it could be back here in less than 1 week or if they haver to have another one built we may be loooking at 6 weeks :( So they gave me a 2013 Edge to drive till all is settled.I so wanted to be driving it this week.....I will just keep reading the posts and take in all that I can till mine is home.

Friggin wierd! It made it from the plant to the dealer and now the plant wants it back?  :headscratch:

  2. I've put over 3000 miles on my SE Hybrid and today when I got in the car to drive home from work I got a brand new message. A yellow message that said something to the effect of "MyKey activated, speed limited to 80 mph". This surprised me because I never set up any MyKeys. I tried to find some setting that explained what the message was all about without luck. I turned off the car, removed the key, waited a few seconds then repeated the start up sequence only this time I didn't get the MyKey message.

When I got home I checked the owner's manual, then checked the MyKey info screen and it says I have (2) Admin keys and (0) MyKeys, which is as it should be. To be sure that the 80 mph speed limit is not enabled I guess I'll have to get out on the highway and check it out for myself.

It seems like the MyFordTouch glitches are growing and spreading to other systems in the car.

MyFordTouch seems to be filled with demons.  :angry2:

  3. HI!  I bought my Ford C Max SEL about 6 weeks ago.  So far I am averaging 39.7 MPG.  I am not impressed!  I consider myself a very easy light footed driver who has been driving high mileage cars for most of my life so I know how to baby the gas peddle.  I am hoping that it will increase as the break-in period continues for the next 1500 miles.  I love the high quality fit and finish of the interior/exterior materials.  It is also very powerful for a four cylinder car, not to mention a hybrid!  I traded in a Honda Fit which routinely got 34 MPG and cost $17,500, or about $12,000 less then the C Max SEL but, the fit and finish was crap and it couldn't get out of it's own way!  The Honda was, however, bullet prof and very reliable.  I hope that Ford has finally got it right with the C Max in the reliability department!  I am willing to give them a try as this is the first Ford product that I have bought since 1972.   Oh well, only time will tell but, so far Ford has not impressed me with their mileage claims versus real life results!  I will admit, that so far I do love the car; it drives like a much bigger car and handles well.  Now if the mileage goes up a little, I'll be a happy camper!

    Welcome to the community!

  4. Glad to read a positive post about MyTouch for once!

I had the issue of driving through cow pastures, ridding rapids and more with my TomTom.

The nav should be able to remember your last several destinations, I would think.  My other Ford did, but it didn't have the MyTouch.

Not having free map updates is bogus of Ford.

Welcome to the site.  I love Quebec!  :wub2:

  6. Hi There,

I just bought my new C-Max on Friday off the lot.  It's an SEL, Silver Ingot Metallic with the 302A Group and sunroof. I'm surprised at just how much I'm liking the Ford My Touch after reading so many reviews that panned it.  I find that the voice commands seem to work really well and I don't have to "fiddle" with controls at all.  I traded in my 2009 Fusion and it had the first generation Sync which I loved for it's hands free capabilities.  Now it's time to work on that learning curve and figure out how to use all those goodies.  Happy New Year and safe travels!

    Welcome to the site ;)

  7. San Diego to Thousand Oaks, one passenger. Half at 75mph. Half at 55 - 65, with some slow and go in Los Angeles. 40mpg overall.

This thing has some real pep. A couple freeway situations where I floored it to change lanes into a gap in traffic that was not as large as I would like it to be. In one case, stuck behind a truck at 45mph, hit the gas to hit a gap in the adjacent 70+mph lane. Acceleration was immediate and more than adequate to the task. Same experience when merging onto the freeway from a couple dicey on-ramps. The Cmax is definitely not a Prius.

    Ride is smooth and quiet.

Small problem with cruise control. I expected that tapping the "Set-" button would reduce my speed by a small increment. Instead it shut off cruise control completely. No resume possible; had to turn cruise control back on and set my speed. I'll read the manual and see if I'm doing something wrong...

40 MPG is really impressive with a new model. I wonder if you'll get more as it breaks in and you get used to driving it a certain way?

That cruise control issue has to be an error. I can't see that the +/- wasn't standard issue on the C-Max or any new car with cruise control.

  8.

And Ford has never had a "first-year model launch" in the past and thus figured that into the publicly-announced date of availability? Sorry doesn't fly with me, this sounds like talk from a salesman at a dealership, and there's a reason they tend to not be viewed very positively.

Typical on virtually every new model of the Mustang, so I cannot see what makes the c-max any different. It's a quality hold for something.

I sat in a C-Max at my dealer the other day. I was disappointed in the lack of new car smell! It was before the dealer detailed it, I wonder if they add some of it now days?

Also, I was told that Ford has put a stop sale on the c-max for a while. I can't find anything like that in the news and the dealer said they didn't know why, so I dunno. Mine has been ordered since beginning of August, and it still doesn't have a build date.

That new car smell is embalming type fluid leaking out of the components. Maybe they found a new substitute.
