  1. Have you tried replacing your filter yet?  It is a very annoying job and I scratched my hands doing it. At this point I'm leaning towards just leaving the K&N filter in there until I get rid of the car, the filtering should get better as time goes by. LOL :)

    Paul

I didn't have any issues removing mine. Very tight in and out though. The intake is the most pain and the path into the engine popped off on bothe ends. I didn't though notice the sensor was a squeeze clip the first few times and I ended up breaking the plastic clip (they don't have a harness with metal clips).

Watch the you tube videos first and you should have no issues. Just remember the screws are secure screws and have an electric drill to reduce the monitany with them.

  2. did you ever find a solution? I was going to mention the service checkup app that at least was on the 2013 model . I now have a 2016 with sync 3.0 and is no longer on the apps area (you need the ford mobile app for the energi now[...They took alot of the fun stuff out or hid it])

    have a good new year

  3. Havent seen it yet but I think it supposed to do it 10-15 minutes after you stop [and walk away]. Unless you try to take a nap in the car you won't notice it.

I got spooked cleaning a 2013-2014 prius plug-in and it made pops and poof noises that I leaned toward [this] what it was doing.

Only one I can say 100 percent is the chevy volt since a youtube video spoke of occuring it.

  4. This may have been solved but the first time I saw this on my 2013 it really was my battery having issues but when I noticed it again there was a new answer [and the battery was o.k]. Apparently its a new satisfaction update last year when the MPG suits started and they added this in to keep the battery from going flat. My dealer said that as long as you keep the car in accessory mode it shouldn't turn the battery off.

On a side not at least the 2016 does have an override option on the dash when it starts to do this and you just press the o.k when it warns you. I assume though if your battery does go dead doing the override , I'd be sure they have a way to say "its your fault" and find a way to charge you for charging up your battery.

  5. I was trying to look into the future [after a few dozen payments] to upgrade the 3.3 KW on board charger to 6.6 or better. I noticed that the ford focus ev has a 6.6KW charger and was hoping someone had extra money and tried to see how similar they were for the cmax.

At one point it was noted that the cmax form is based off the Focus so I was hoping they might be swappable and use the charger from it. I also have to hope the wiring is strong enough to take the added charge.

    Thanks for any info

  6. ISn't there supposed to be more by default. I say applink or external apps (which are the phrases listed somewhere on a ford site) trying to get to control apps like pandora and mine doesn't know these command or show up in the command list. I've seen  this on the new prius{not mine) ,which other than the apps [through entune] the radio is nothing I want in my cmax.

My dealer has flashed and updated my radio and still no commands which were supposed to be there on my car at sale.

Does anyone have apps that the salesman and sync demonstrator should have shown. I waived my rights to the demonstrator so I can't be sure if it just the 3 posters here with this issue.

  7. Hopefully its the same thing except to me I had like a fish tank sound. I went it complaining about it and they found the presure was off by a miniscule amount and they re presurized some pump and bled it like a radiator and haven't heard it since.

Apparently its a hybrid thing and that I should get used to strange things. I'm going in for a fuel inlet error tommorow so hopfully that'll be  as quick fix as this.

  8. There the sync checker when you as it says "don't have the flash drive used to install" to test.   I did wish this update had come out when I went earlier this week when I went  to get my recall done but they seemed to miss it in the 6 hrs they were with my car (about 4 for the roof update and another 3or so for satifaction update and molding work from a bad window regulator replacement).

  9. Just wanted to post a note that yesterday they upgraded my Cmax to 3.6.2 - and boy - what a difference! The only thing is that I still see myself driving thru backyards, thru lakes and rivers... If they fix the gps somehow the car will be just awesome. Except for the change in PCM which is so annoying.

Mine I had to resync my phone and my wireless won't work with 3.6.2 . With my wireless its asking for a security key I don't have(haven't found a wps button on the cmax yet to use my key)

  10. I just called today seeing it on the sync my ride mobile site(I had to dig a bit on the regular page) They said there is a recall but not to schedual an appointment till I get the formal letter in the mail since that will indicate parts were in for the fix.

I still thought the recall notice was very vauge. I saw headliner head impact and thought it was a chair piece and not a roof thing.

BTW if any admins have any recomendations on upgrades to request while they're up there send me a PM. I just hate the antenna on my cmax, I for some reason thought I was getting a hocky puck antenna and not a stick antenna. On my Pontiac vibe it always reminded me of a rino tail when I used the rear sprayer (I knew there was something up when the people behind me burst out laughing when I cleaned my window [if you know what I mean]).

BTW BTW with my cmax I had the choice of touch screen or panaramic roof and I went with touch.

  11. I just bought my 2013 Ford CMAX SE recently but as One part that I replaced on my older pontiac vibe I thought I'd go looking around for how to do this now since in my vibe I wasn't aware of its existance till the dealer told me they thought it was time to replace it (though they didn't notice it dirty till 3 yrs in and it was full).

The manual just like my vibe doesn't specify how to replace it or show its existance. I think I know it to be on my passenger side  on the left but its in a place that is better made for a yoga instructor since just finding it was a challenge.

My thought as in the topic , how do I replace it without hurting the next day and where [other than the dealership] do I get reasonable filters for this car.  The car seems too new for oem filters even though Europe seems to have had cmax's since at least 2003.

    Thanks for any help

I attached a pic from under my glovebox to the left of the fuse box. Hopefully it can be of some use to somebody.

  12. That bothers me I have to push so much out of the way to get to the filter. The one video on youtube seems to show a few brakets to be removed as well.  @John those were the good days when they wanted you to find it. I replaced my 05 vibe filter many times after finding it under the box. That area in the cmax is a tight fit which might make me have to remove a chair to check clearence there or hope it can be found in a install package. I saw screws to get the box out but theres a tight knob on the right and haven't checked yet if thats the fuel reset

     or just another clip.

Any actual ford techs here that can say what it took for them to get into that area. I can remember when gm replaced an air actuator in a place like that they pulled the whole dash to get into it and that was a 40 dollar part and no warrenty. I just got the car recently though its one of the parts I hope to service myself once filter start showing up in Amazons distribution chain (my local walmart doesn't even have a fram replacement for either filter).
