  1. In Oregon, we're one of only 2 states (I think) where it's illegal to pump your own. A few weeks ago after a fill up I entered the numbers into Fuelly and was amazed that my mileage had suddenly leaped up more that 10 MPG! It had to be too good to be true, and as I drove away I realized that the attendant had not topped up the tank. I thought about going back to complete the fill up, but that would have made me late for work.

It totally screwed up my Fuelly statistics, GRRR! I suppose in the long run it will be a blip, but I don't have that many fuel ups yet, so it was a bit frustrating.

Jersey being the other one.  I just mark my fillup on fuelly as a partial - and then hope it is done correctly the next fill-up.

  2. Just did the install as well.  Step 3 allows you to email the instructions to Your Mobile Device - never got it.  Good thing the printed directions were not needed.  Just turned on the car and plugged the USB into socket as ArizonaEngeri mentioned.  Update took 20 minutes - lost .2 MPG idling while upgrading - and radio stations seemed intact after update.

  3. Adair,

The video triggered something that happened to me when we got the car back in June.  Every time I connected the phone to the USB to charge - the MFT would try to figure out what music I had on the phone.  The screen display Unknown track would then start playing GPS directions, voicemail messages, etc. and appear to lock up my screen for either short time or a long period of time trying to catalog or index the stuff on my Droid4 phone.  Not sure if this is applicable - but thought I'd throw it out there.

  4. Yeah, it had been doing weird stuff all day. Marathon training course had some serious hills on the outbound. At one point it said I was something like 73 MTE and I was in yellow. The next time, after the next water station, it said 108 and was back in white. At the end it had just flipped over to red and said I had 24 more MTE. I dunno, maybe my aliens were helping me out. I didn't want to push my luck in case the gauge was wrong so I filled up.

How many gallons was your fiil up? Our last tank said 13.09 used but fill up was over 13.5. I know my wife will never let it go down that low again.

  5. Happy 4th to everyone.  We would like to share our second fill-up and 602.4 miles from Jersey.  80% driven by my wife to and from work during NJ rush hours non highway.  Air conditioning always on - tire pressure as delivered from dealer - haven't even checked.  No mods and wife did not really change driving habits.

    Second fill up

I drove the last 50 miles - as she didn't want to run out of gas trying to reach 600.

Trip gauge said 13.02 gal - bought 13.585 gallons.  Too close for comfort - won't be doing that again :).  Did have gas can with me since we weren't sure how accurate the gauges were.

  6. My wife's car and she drove more than half the miles on the first tankful with no attempt to maximize FE. Looking forward to even higher numbers as she starts using some of the tips shared in the forum.

  7. Would second everything SnitGTS said except we're not buying another house anytime soon :).

Wife didn't realize she really - really needed the power seats but didn't want leather and would she would have liked the rear view camera - didn't want to incur extra cost.  So far we're very happy with the SE.

  8. I have a Droid 4 with Verizon but it's my wife's car and we've only had the car three days. Still reading the manual. I had no problem pairing and syncing and accessing address book. But that's the extent of use so far. Let me know if there's something you'd like me to test. We're at MFT v3.5.1.

  9. pjurek99 - we're in Piscataway - middlesex county

MtnMarty - Thanks :).  Take US Air and go thru Charlotte all the time.

ford - Had a brown '68 fastback - bad gas mileage (but gas was probably around $1 back then) but lots of fun to drive. Ice Storm was wife's first choice but we could not find one with the 202A package.

SnitGTS - Never saw a C-Max on the road - then after buying it my wife saw one at her company - security car was a black C-Max and then while we were tooling around town we saw a Red Ruby CMax SEL in the neighborhood - but they were from VA.

Looking forward to learning and sharing.  Love the car so far.
