  1. Ya, I hate losing sight out of the back window but there is a ton of space, relatively.
  2. Nice! The larger battery pack of the energi had to be a factor though right? In comparison to our poverty hybrids that is.
  3. Understandable. Fuel efficiency wasn't my number one priority, just a nice bonus for what the car is.
  4. Do you use your own tire gauge? I realized the one built into the public airhose I used a few times was not accurate.. At least compared to the gauge I had in my cat.
  5. Are you still happy with your cmax? I saw an ad for a diesel beamer that is rated 45 mpg highway. I think it was like a 3 series, four door sedan type. Of course diesel has more energy per gallon and often costs more. But, if you only wanted highway efficiency you could get a smaller conventional car to save money overall.
  6. Ya I was pretty happy with that trip. She was going thru some rough two-tracks that day, with some fair sized rocks. My average has started dipping otherwise, because of the short back and forth trips to work in the early cold mornings.
  7. I guess if it's almost* all 75+mph that's good.
  8. "For perspective, the average of 107 owners' self-reported results from Fueleconomy.gov is 39.2, while the average of 293 drivers at Fuelly.com is 40.7." That seems really low. And that test seems overly complicated, to put it mildly.
  9. I'd like to see a video of that "highway" driving. Or is that the modded one?
  10. All mountain driving! Up, down, around. Dirt roads at 25 mph and highways at 65 mph.
  11. finally put a pic of mine up. having to resize the picture was annoying, but roughly 40% of the original size of the pic from my HTC One worked. edit: ack! the pic on my profile doesn't show up well. anyways, the original pic is this:
  12. Spark plugs/seals/valve cover gaskets and a windshield for my gas hog Lincoln aviator. Big heavy AWD with a V8, 138k miles, ~12 mpg lol But I fixed it's oil leak and misfire, and the windshield was so pitted it was difficult to see through. It finally had cracked bad so I bit the bullet.
  13. Coming down from the mountains: I can't wait for ski season!
  14. Obviously that's mainly Prius drivers ;) I push my C-max way harder than most other cars I see on the road.
  15. aah i see. i don't think i have many deductions as of now. ya, i probably shouldn't do it. a slight increase in monthly payment would be fine but i just hate giving dealers any kind of extra fees. plus, i'm already looking forward to the 2015 mustang after my next promotion (turbo four-cylinder! w00t!)
  16. lol ya good point. my battery has died once that i couldn't figure out why, but it seems fine. i've had her since about june. an energi is tempting with the tax rebates. supposedly colorado gives a good rebate as well.
  17. so my dealer sent me a letter claiming i can get an upgrade on my current vehicle, guaranteed, while keeping my payment the same or lowering it, with no money down. this sounds too good to be true! what's the catch you think? my current car is a base SE with the panoramic roof and the white platinum paint, which were the only options i wanted, and i have about 12,000 miles on her already. my only regret is the sound system, but any SEL i got i'd want a panoramic roof as well.
  18. very nice! my average keeps going up to 43.0 for a little bit then back down to 42.9. that's the displayed average when driving, i'm not sure what the proper term is. i reset it after a cross country trip of about 2,800 miles at 35-37 mpg, but my lifetime average which pops up when shutting off my car is up to 39.8.
  19. I hope Ford gets with the program and stats releasing AWD and RWD hybrids, but apparently Subaru is releasing a crosstrek hybrid for model year '14 (awd). It will only have ~160 hp and only be treated for 29/33/31 mpg but it'll fill an open spot in the market, at least as far as I know. http://www.subaru.com/mobile/2014-xvcrosstrekhybrid.html Edit: it looks like Toyota and Nissan both have awd hybrid models as well. I'm partial to Subies and Fords though
  20. Wow. I'm happy with the car but the only issue I've had is the battery dying for seemingly no reason. Once a door was left open slightly but another time I saw no reason. I just had to get a set of 20 ft jumper cables because if I'm head first in my garage there's no way (cheap & quick) to charge the battery
  21. Oh cool, I didn't realize the myview was customizable.
