Are there any FORD dealers aware of Low MPG problems?
valkraider replied to ptjones's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
The sticker really needs to be tweaked so that the "your mileage may vary" is changed. Make it read "Your mileage WILL vary" and put it in a much much larger typeface.- 20 replies

It's the same owners manual. That other forum has simply put it on their site... It should be cool as long as someone keeps up with updates or if Ford doesn't complain... (Some times they will be antsy about controlling the information).

(Maybe this topic should be pinned) The owners manual is available in .pdf format. I keep a copy on my computer and another in my phone. The manual can't be linked to directly, but here is how to get it from the Motorcraft site: Go to this link: http://www.motorcraftservice.com/ Then, on the left side under "non-subscription resources" click "OwnerGuides". You should be able to select the vehicle and then select which content you would like to download..

The update is available. -
EV+ really only has meaning to Ford vehicles currently. It is a mode where the car learns frequent destinations such as home or work and then enables a special mode where I allows slightly more battery power because it knows you're getting close to stopping. Ford calls it EV+

Would you buy the CMax if the advertised MPG was below 47/47?
valkraider replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Lounge: Off-Topic
My insurance went up. Higher than both our other cars... I called to ask why a compact Ford Hybrid cost more to insure than our 2011 Camaro convertible. The answer? Batteries. Batteries are incredibly expensive and almost always damaged in a crash. -
Inferiority Complex - CMAX vs. Prius v

If your buttons are bloody, you're doing it wrong. -
Yes, CMax has active noise cancellation. It actually causes problems with the audio quality of the MFT hands-free phone system. That is one of the things which is supposed to be fixed with the 3.5.1 update.

EPA to test C-Max hybrid on mpg claims

CMax has automated grill shutters. -
The C-max shipped with MFT 3.2.1 (or maybe 3.2.2). The MFT 3.5.1 update came out in the fall but is being phased in slowly across all vehicle lines which have MFT. Edge, Focus (gasoline), and Escape are already eligible for the upgrade. C-max and Focus electric are due for the update any day now...

This.

It is on the Home screen with MFT 3.5.1. Other cars already have 3.5.1 and they have posted info in their respective forums...

After they see how these things sell and they start making some money, they will start adding things and options. I am still leery of the grill covers. If it was truly that easy to add 2 to 6 mpg, every car company would build them in to every model made. I mean for the price of a piece of plastic getting 2 to 6 mpg gain is great considering they have sunk billions into things like low rolling resistance tires, direct fuel injection, waste heat recovery, start-stop, hybrid systems and transmissions, etc etc... -
It's amazing how society ever functioned without GPS navigation. It's a tool people. One of many. I use mine more for recreational geek factor than actual navigation... It's almost exclusively used to check traffic or mess around with maps - I always figure out where I am going before I start out. I don't have Nav on my motorcycle so I just get used to, what is that called? Oh yeah... Using my brain... ;)

MFT absolutely does have to do with the reliability of the car when things like climate control and hands free phone (required by law in my state) are run via MFT. And I never said Apple was perfect, or Apple maps was brilliant. I know it has problems, I personally prefer Google maps. I said MFT is Typical Microsoft crap - on the scale of Vista and Bob... I am not sure why you are hell bent in defending this. It is well documented since 2011 that MFT sucks and has damaged the usability, reliability, and customer satisfaction of Ford vehicles. Ford has taken a beating due to MFT, and even extended their MFT warranty to try and help people feel better about buying a Ford with MFT. This all happened before I even ordered my c-max. My personal experience is MFT is still buggy as hell and unreliable, and they for some reason are holding on to the update for us much longer than they should. When you release a brand new new product line it is generally good to have the software updates ready for the release... They should have had MFT 3.5.1 ready and MFM operational for c-max before the end of the year - preferably before November. -
The outside air temp display on the touch screen is only available with MFT 3.5.1 which is not yet available for C-Max with Nav... :(

Reboot MFT. http://outofmytouch.com/reboot.html

I just tried. I set the key on my work bench three feet from the car, got in and hit start. "No Key Detected".

I wanted a PHEV and didn't like the Volt and the Prius plug in is a joke. So yeah, I would... Now the MFT and MFM issues really piss me off because there is absolutely no excuse for them.. ;) -

I've read that before and this paragraph always cracks me up: I have been stuck in plenty of Gridlock in the Midwest. I have been in parking lit conditions on freeways in Detroit, Toronto, Minneapolis, and Chicago. As well as places like Atlanta, DC, Houston, Memphis, Dallas, St. Louis and Orlando too... Cities all have gridlock. However California freeways move really fast a lot of the time, I have been passed while cruising at crazy speeds in Southern California... I think that the comparison is more rural freeway vs urban surface streets. Because freeways in cities have congestion but a freeway in the middle if nowhere will have those high speed fuel sucking long stretches...
