I still miss the Energi compared to our current Clarity PHEV, although I got a whopping 63 or 64 mi of pure EV range on the Clarity yesterday and the day before. (The longer range and bigger trunk being basically the two positives the Clarity has over the C-MAX Energi). The noise that developed from what I guessed the tranny eventually caused my wife to trade her in. Is that lifetime warranty a Ford offering, local dealer offering, or some other third party? (Thank you for sharing that option)! @fotomoto, if you remember our Energi moderator, I see here and the PriusChat forum...

I believe budget cuts eventually axed the Energi forum sadly.

Welcome and thank you for joining. (Somehow I remember you from the Energi forum)….

We traded our '13 Energi in back in 2018, so some of the functionality is probably lost in my memory: 1. You can check the charge level. 2. Set value charge to your Home Location. (Not 100% sure this feature worked. So for example you go on a trip and would like to charge outside of value charge hours. All you have to do is plug in and it will know to start charging right away vs wait until 10 pm. I think this feature worked on Level 1 charger but not Level 2). Value charge can be set each of the 7 days of the week, vaguely remember something about summer vs winter but don't quote me on that. 3. Remote start and cancel from FAR AWAY. 4. Remote lock/unlock the doors. 5. Can remote start and stop charging. Value charge works between the times you set:. I set from 10 pm to 8 am in the morning. If my wife comes home at 10:30 pm it automatically starts charging. On the Clarity I set the same, if she comes home at 10:01 pm it will not. You have to manually start it. I did realize yours says something different. Instead of someone else as owner it says initiated. Hmmm. There's a setting although I can't remember it exactly. CPIM, CPSIM, CPID, or something similar. If yours is blank it is a sign the APIM or something broke. Ours broke and Ford eventually fixed it after visiting 4 different dealerships, (even providing a loaner), but it was 6 months.

Regarding the value of My Ford Mobile on the C-MAX Energi, I can tell you I loved it and missed it dearly while it was broken for months. It was BETTER (note the emphasis) than what our '18 HondaLink does. '13 Ford C-MAX Energi vs '18 Honda Clarity PHEV (Touring if that matters any). I would not waste money on any firmware/software update. I pray the previous owner sees the email and then relinquishes their ownership. I believe my wife may have received an email even though I had already released it. If I were in your shoes I would try once a week. Then the prior owner may realize that they need to release it and do so...

I am on a computer now. I'm wondering if you tried on the website vs mobile app: https://www.myfordmobile.com/content/mfm/app/site/login.html If you haven't already created an account create one (on the website) and try adding the vehicle there. If it is registered under someone else they will receive an email asking them to release the VIN. I hope they will... One time our APIM or whatever broke, and took a long time before Ford agreed to repair/replace it while still under warranty. There was a setting/field in one of the menus that read blank, which indicated failure. I can't recall which one...

CMax 54 plate diesel alarm going off randomly
jzchen replied to Carol Wilson's topic in General Discussion
What model year is this? We had known electrical issues on USA models that required dealer visit. Where is the vehicle parked, indoors/garage or outside? -
I would stop charging, at least stop at 75%. From my experience/knowledge of Prius hybrid batteries once the cells charges become unbalanced enough the battery creates a error code that it needs to be replaced.
-
Did you try a different charger/EVSE?

Bought 2018 Ford C-Max Hybrid with included rodent
jzchen replied to bill.anderson's topic in General Discussion
If it’s any consolation to you/or a possible solution, the mice/and one rodent that were/are around here seem to enjoy our attic a lot more than the insides of our cars. (I use humane traps and set free half way up the mountain when the road is open)… -
MSRP of the ENERGI battery is $6322.45. Got a discounted price @ fordparts.com selecting my selling dealer of $5690.21. It's supposedly 508.5 lbs...

I would guess it's time to do a coolant flush and fill with new coolant.

The CMax Energi Professor (Raj) was found elsewhere

Raja has his own Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/rbortcosh -
I tried to search for a solution but did not find anything of the sort I'm afraid. All the locks I found, as mentioned by @cr08, lock the charge cord to the port so it can't be disconnected while charging.

Help... 2013 C-Max Hybrid SE won't run
jzchen replied to tstraw's topic in Maintenance, TSB's & Recalls
I usually search for aftermarket products first also, especially if they say "lifetime warranty". I guess the C-MAX is finicky when it comes to injectors! Thanks for bringing closure to this thread! -
Any advice on Hybrid Battery warranty replacement, how to tell?
jzchen replied to bigapplempv's topic in Batteries
Warranties usually start on the in-service date, so date first sold/leased. -
Powered Lift Gate Not Holding - 2014 Energi
jzchen replied to Arrival's topic in Body Panels, Trim, etc.
Try to observe if it happens both facing uphill and downhill, tilted sideways, or all three. Then maybe we can take a guess…. -
I just went to their website. I don't see it. Sold?

Hi, I meant to come back and respond to your questions but got sidetracked I'm afraid. There is a separate High Voltage battery that is much much higher than 12 V, I would guess 200 V plus. That is not being monitored by your app as far as I can see of what you shared. At this point as kindly mentioned most likely the 12 V needs to be replaced. After a long drive the voltage of the battery may go up to a respectable level such as 12.7 V, but this may be a phenomenon called surface charge. The battery may still be weak/need changing. I suspect this "gold star connect" device uses and OBDII dongle connected to the OBDII port? It's a connector underneath the dash on the driver side. (It has 16 pins if you count carefully). Sometimes devices connected to this port even when the car is shut down and left can/may eventually drain the 12 V. If you have your battery tested AND it tests good, I would suggest removing this device when you are not in the car/not using it. Please feel free to post any more questions you may have.

Welcome to the forum! Yes that is the 12 V low charge warning. I'm glad she still got you home that voltage is very low (8 V). I suggest you have it tested and buy a replacement if it tests bad.

Thank you @Arrival. Yes, Thule makes two versions, one set with square bars and another with more aerodynamic bars. I'd go for the aerodynamic ones personally: Thule SquareBar Evo 135 Thule Rapid Traverse Foot Pack* Kit 141683 MSRP $469.85 Thule WingBar Evo 135 (comes in two colors) Thule Rapid Traverse Foot Pack* Kit 141683 MSRP $569.85 * I don't think these are the same part #s See www.thule.com for more details and to be directed to authorized dealers.

Hmm. Thought I already responded but seems like my response was lost. Welcome! I use www.car-part.com for used parts (if you haven't heard of it yet).
