  1. We have our 2008 hybrid escape and our 3 week old C-Max. I find the Escape has more nooks and crannies for stuff. (We carry a "Murphy bag" for emergencies.) we do sit a bit lower then the escape.

C-Max breaking is more noticeable. Steering is more responsive. What I use most of the instruments is the "waterfall" of the mpg display.

We drove the C-Max then the new escape design (my daughter commented that a giant had sat on it." Think the Masda version was a bit better. ) Then we tried the current crop of similar cars, None of the others measured up to our escape hybrid. The second test drive of the C-Max sold my wife. She found it easier to get into then our escape.

<G> I got the escape, she got the C-Max.

  2. HI. Welcome! We also have a 08 FEH. Our Cmax is being built on 7/18. We can't wait to get it. This is a very friendly forum. I don't know how to do that, but I am sure someone will answer soon.

I am curious if you traded in your FEH or kept it. We are keeping ours...for now.

I think it's cool to see other satisfied previous Ford hybrid owners, getting the new generation of the system. We have just es.

We kept the Escape which just turned 50,000. Out trade was my 2005 CRV (22 mpg going downhill) One funny was when I was taking to a clerical person and was asked "You didn't trade the Escape did you???"

  3. What normally happens is that the mayor and city council are made aware of the issue. They then task the staff to write an ordinance. The staff almost always searches to see what other cities have on their books.

A quick search found these examples.

My suggestion would be to first contact a council person get get their interest. Have a draft of a proposed ordinance. That way you get in what you want it to say. Have a group of people that will show up at meetings, send emails and make calls ( aka "squeaky wheels") finally be patient. It's a long process.

  4. My dad was a used cars salesman so I had a number of cars to drive. However, my true "first car" was a 1966 Mustang. It had a 289HP engine, 4 barrel carberator, manual four speed transfermission.....I'm surprised I never got a ticket.

Sadly, starting it during the cold Vermont winters was difficult. After two such winters I traded it.

Still would like to restore one.

  5. We're in our second week with the C Max. Just back from our first road trip, and have reached 700 miles total. Going over was on interstate and produced 43 mpg. We returned by back roads with 41 mpg.

This is our second hybrid, the other is a 2008 Escape. Hence we aren't new to hybrids.

A question: How do you get the "fuelly" box at the bottom of the posts?

    Thanks!
