Map gone after Sync update, 2013 Cmax hybrid
andeeca replied to andeeca's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I went in yesterday and they tried an A6 and an A7. Nothing. Salesman came out and said that the car was sold with Sync, but not Nav??? We had the EQUIPMENT GROUP 301A, PREMIUM AUDIO AND NAVIGATION. The only reason we got that is because it included navigation, neither of us listen to music so the speakers meant nothing to us. (My upgrade is to Sync 2, 3.11) -
Map gone after Sync update, 2013 Cmax hybrid

I have both the A3 and A4 SD cards. Neither does anything. I was told the latest is A11. Thank you for the replies! I talked to three people at Ford and two people at HERE Technology (Map producer) yesterday. The last person at Ford said I have to go back to the dealership and I was asking if I could talk to someone else or if she had another recommendation for a different dealership because they were very clear with me that they could do nothing. She hung up on me ☹️ I will try with the guy at the dealership again today with your comments. Thank you so much! -
I had car in for service at end of Feb. They did 19K03 (Sync with Myford and Mylincoln Touch). I have never paid for any Sync services, but we use the maps all the time. When I picked the car up the maps were no longer working and they had me bring it back in a couple times to look at it. Then Covid came so I didn’t go back till yesterday. They redid that 19K03, but the maps are still not working. Now the dealership is telling me that the Sync is no longer supported and maps will no longer work. I can’t believe I’m the only one who cares?? I don’t think this is happening to everyone. Anyone??

We had the same thing happen last month coming down I-5 in a heatwave. Flow would start off high and cold and then we'd notice it was low flow and not cold, but slightly cooler than 100 degrees outside. When we stopped and started up again, it worked for a while and then the same thing would happen. It's at the shop now for oil change and they are supposed to check AC. I don't have much confidence in them though. Update, never got any new info. Worked fine last month going through the Arizona desert, but then going to San Diego last weekend in only 74 degrees it was acting up again.

Hi Noel1945, Yes! I'm having the same problem. I know it didn't used to vibrate like this. Please let us know if you find out anything. I've asked the dealer that last 2 times in, but they find nothing.

We received a new battery the last time (several months ago) that it went dead. This morning it was dead AGAIN. My husband said he accidentally left it in neutral (because he puts it there after pulling up to the physical stop on the garage floor so that the tires aren't being smashed). How would that cause it? Maybe he didn't turn it off. Still don't understand how the large battery wouldn't just keep the small one charged if the car was left on. Sorry if this was addressed in the last 15 pages that I haven't read up on yet. Too tired.

Had 2nd dead battery yesterday (first was in March). The 13A01 "Sync with Myford Touch-Appllication Performance Upgrade" was done almost 2 weeks ago. Also just started using the phone connection again last week. We needed to start it twice to keep it going and the yellow wrench light was on. Today it's off. I can't bring it in until end of next week because the dealer said they'd need car for several days. I went to use the phone today and there's no sound. The radio is working, turns off when I dial the phone, then nothing. After the phone disconnects, then the radio doesn't have sound. It looks like it's still on, but then I have to turn it off and on again to have sound. One question, if someone could check, what happens to the screen when you turn the radio off? Mine is staying with the same screen as if it's still on, I don't think it did that before?? Update Aug 9: Car was dead again 4 days later. Brought car in to dealer yesterday and got back this evening. 10654C1 Battery test, failed 230CCA, battery replaced. Reprogrammed powertrain control module and SOCB-B per 13B07 (for the warning light that came on). GPS off route, cause TSB13-08-02, A99 130802A reprogrammed SYC to V3.6.

SEL owners, check your FOB
andeeca replied to Laurel's topic in Alarms, Keyless Entry, Locks & Remote Start
JT, About how much was the extra? Did you just give them the 5 digit number? (We didn't get the barcode, but when we asked they gave us a number.) -
This is for the Keyless Entry (Keyfob). Is there any way to have JUST the driver door open when pulling handle (keyfob in pocket)? The way mine is set up now is that passenger door also opens when pulled. Been okay so far, but what if I'm in parking lot at night alone and don't want someone to be able to enter from right side of car unless I manually unlock it? Is it all on, or all off? I sure like not having to dig through my purse for the key, but maybe I should have the setting changed if there's no way to lock out the passenger door.

GPS has been intermittently going off course 0.2 miles (so keeps trying to lead us back to the freeway!). Very irritating since getting the built-in GPS was why we paid more and got the 301A package. Our old Garmin is soooo much better but my husband hates the distraction of having it on windshield. Today the car was in for first oil change and they did TSB 13-3-11 for the problem. Just read the previous comments on this topic, hmm. I'll let you know later if it doesn't work.

Update (nothing new): March 21st, car was dead in garage, jumped it. Called Ford line (800-392-3673) to report so that we have a reference number. SEL 301A package, built Oct 4, 2012, had 5800 miles Hasn't been dead since, haven't had cold weather(?). Today went in for first oil change and they did TSB 13-5-1 for the electrical. Service manager had never heard of anyone having battery problems. I don't think he understands how car works because he kept asking if it was trying to "turn over". Luckily he wasn't the one working on it. :-)

Car was in for 1st oil change today and I asked for the cupholder divider. They had no clue what I was talking about and none of the others on the lot had it installed. But then they found one somewhere! Thanks so much for this post, I was wishing for something like this because stuff I toss in there keeps rolling up into the other slot and then I have to keep moving it out of the way to put my cup back down. My key fobs did have the emergency keys. Good thing, since my car was dead one day.

Rear hatch door; can you open when battery dead?
andeeca replied to andeeca's topic in Body Panels, Trim, etc.
Yes, keep the huge spare in the back. It actually came in handy when I was out in the country in Clovis so I'll keep carrying it around. Thanks for reply! Wait, when it's dead can you open the rear passenger doors from the inside? I hope so. -
Is there any interior latch (or some kind of trick) so that the rear hatch can be opened from the inside when the 12 volt battery is dead? Had dead battery and now realizing that I don't think I should keep the battery cables in the back! Just went and checked, I actually can open the little storage area in the back from the inside, but I have to put the seats down and move the full size spare forward first. Good thing I was home at the time.

Found car dead in garage yesterday. Called Ford line (800-392-3673) to report so that we have a reference number. I was afraid to have tow truck come and mess something up so we just jumped it ourselves since dealer said they'd probably just try to start it anyway. Car was unlocked, radio and air probably left on (very rarely use the air conditioner). Had some weird transient message last week on MFT screen, next time I'll take photo. Not sure if this is something or not, but when using rear gate lately at night I noticed there wasn't a light coming on but never thought to check when it was daytime. Today after charging, there are 2 lights in the back that come on. We don't use anything plugged in except phone charger which is unplugged and put away when not driving. Clock started back at 12 when jumped, Home was missing on navigation, but favorites were still there (?), mileage counters for trips 1 & 2 still there. SEL 301A package, built Oct 4, 2012. 5800 miles

I complained to my worrywart husband about the full-size spare he purchased ($$$) and keeps in the back. Recently on trip without him up to visit ranch outside of Clovis (near Fresno). When leaving the ranch in the morning, I heard a funny noise and thought mud was stuck on the tire. I didn't notice the little light on the dash notifying me that pressure was gone in one tire. Luckily I only went a couple houses down the street and stopped to find a flat. Changed it in a few minutes and then went right to town and had tire replaced (there was a metal shard on the shoulder so tire was ruined). Back in business post-haste. I'm eating my crow now. He was right.

Hi roninsd, are you saying it's the same as mine (only opens partially), or the same as Michigan Max's (completely unlatches)?
-
That's way better than what the name it made both of my daughters relate it to...Maxi Pads. I've been embarrassed to say the name ever since. Now I'll think of it differently! Good night!

zalusky "I guess I will probably have to get a visor clip for that."Ha ha!! I just caught on that you mean the CAR visor. I was picturing you in one of the plastic visor caps my mother in law used to wear on her gambling trips to Laughlin. That memory gave me a good laugh, thanks! Back to topic: What is the holder on the underside of the center console door for? Kleenex?

I'm just wondering if this is normal, or latch not working correctly. We have the manual tailgate and the key fob has a button to unlock it. I push the button twice and the door pops slightly open, but is still caught by the latch. I don't understand what that feature would be for because it's no different than using the car unlock button because you still have to hold the handle to disengage the latch to open it. Am I missing something?

Light went out by itself and dealer said it must have just corrected the problem. I only had the check engine, not the fuel door light.
-
Oh oh, my Check Engine Light came on Saturday. I checked the fuel door and flap but they look fine. I have about 1100 miles. More later.

Getting close to making decision to go with Ford C-Max and trying to figure out all the differences between SE and SEL. One of them is Piano Black Grille on the SEL. I can't see any difference in the photos I have. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks!
