  1. The software in my BMW and my 2013 Avalanche LTZ have been 100% glitch free. I think MFT might have been rushed to market a little too soon. :headscratch:
  2. Ours is acting up again. I took it to the dealer and Walla! It wouldn't work for him either! Both times it has been to the dealer the service manager (who is very nice) couldn't duplicate the problem and would take my wife out and "show her" how to get in the car. This kinda pissed my wife off who is a successful business woman and no dummy! Today while he was trying to get in I gave him both keys to be sure it wasn't just a bad key. Sometimes it wouldn't unlock the drivers door but the back door would unlock. Other times it would let you in on the second pull of the handle or not let you in at all. It was the same scenerio for all 4 doors. Finally the situation has been duplicated at the dealer and at least he thinks my wife isn't crazy anymore! He is going to contact Ford to try and help diagnose this Gremlin. Also today I could not turn off the radio again and the presets disapeared and the street name is gone under the compass again. All is now "documented".
  3. The rear defrost will also operate the heated side mirrors too.
  4. Ours comes and goes too... Hopefully that is something that has been addressed in the new updates that should be coming out soon.
  5. Which white did you get? We have the pearl white and it is beautiful paint!
  6. Yep it happens all the time... I am not sure why but hopefully when we get the updates it will be fixed!
  7. Our car was at the dealer yesterday to have the front fender realigned and we asked him to check for updates and he said they still aren't available for the Cmax yet :-(
  8. I think "grabbing" brakes especially towards the end of the stop is normal. I believe the regen kicks out and the regular brakes kick in.

I know that you will probably only see good MPG's a few months out of the year in Alaska, but you will see better than most cars on the road up there for mpg's. Cold weather and mpg's don't mix and that holds true for any vehicle. Please keep us updated on how your car performs in extreme cold! Most winter days around here are below freezing temps, but occaisionally we get a warmer day and my mileage skyrockets on those days!
  10. I agree! I went off the Focus sizings when I bought my Michelin X-ice in 16 inch size for the C-max. I hope to get the stock wheels and tires (with the TPMS sensors) installed back on our car in late March or early April. I don't know for sure, but I actually think that a 15" wheel will fit...
  11. 16's are the way to go if you want to save some money. donhak, I would think living in Alaska you will get alot of use from those!
  12. If the heater is on and it it is cold outside, the engine will run if for no other reason, just to make heat for the cabin.
  13. I am running 16" inch wheels with snow tires on my Cmax. Even though the snows are "green" tires (low rolling resistance) I would think they are probably equivalent to the factory 17's.
  14. I feel like I paid for a "Diamond" but actually got a "Cubic Zirconia" instead. Hopefully it is just a diamond in the rough and with some polishing will become brilliant...
  15. Here's another odd thing that happened yesterday. As we were driving my daughter sent my wife a text message. On the screen to the right of the speedometer it said the message was from me but on the main touch screen it said the message was from my daughter.
  16. I agree! Read my post about driving today in Western PA with warmer temps. It can be done!
  17. It is unusually warm in Western PA today (mid 50's). I took a 4-legged trip with HVAC off. All the legs were 8-12 miles with speeds between 50-60 mph. The first leg was with a cold car. Here are my results... Leg one -- 42 MPG Leg two -- 53 MPG Leg three -- 45 MPG Leg four -- 68 MPG I tried as hard as I could to maintain a 100% brake score. I used pulse and glide as much as possible. I let the car roll down the hills and let my speed drop a little when climbing hills. I am happy with those numbers!
  18. The radio (Sirius) mysteriously changed stations on our drive to go out to dinner tonight! Maybe Microsoft should have stayed out of the automobile infotainment arena!
  19. Mine did that the other day... I was driving to the store and hit the power off button for the radio and it kept playing. I tried seeveral times and no matter what I did I could not shut off the radio. When I got to the store I shut down the car and it "thanked" me for driving a Hybrid so I know I powered the car down, however the radio continued to play. I got out of the car and shut the door and the radio still played! I unlocked the car and got back in... shut the door and the opened it again and got out and the radio finally shut down.
  20. Mayday jay, Everyones NAV is not very good at this point and Ford knows that. They are coming out with a new update soon and it will include a new SD card for NAV.
  21. For the money I spent on this relatively "worthless" option I could have bought a top of the line Garmin and had alot of $ left over!
  22. I just got this info from syncmyride.com It looks like maybe 3.5.1 might solve the NAV problems because it comes with a new SD card. Unfortunatly, it doesn't appear to be available for the Hybrid cars just yet... I guess we will have to just wait and see. Today, we are proud to announce the release of a new software update, available immediately for many SYNC® with MyFord Touch®/MyLincoln Touch systems. This new software will provide the following enhancements to your current system: • Return of the outside air temperature to the 8 inch display • Updated phone pairing process • Enhanced voice and screen destination entry for SD Card Navigation (if equipped) • Simplified voice commands for music • Enhancements to voice recognition • Updated SYNC/device compatibility Please note that the update is not yet available for MyFord Touch/MyLincoln Touch vehicles equipped with Navigation. For these vehicles, the software update requires a complimentary replacement SD card. We plan to have your replacement SD cards, as well as the new software update, ready for you in January. We will make an announcement in the forums when you are able to request your replacement SD card. Please be aware that if you perform the update without the replacement SD card in a Navigation-equipped vehicle, your Navigation system will be inoperable. If your vehicle is not equipped with SD Card Navigation, you can log in and check for updates now. We look forward to sharing an enhanced MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch experience with all of you.
  23. Joe, my clock was wrong one time when we first got the car, but someone on here suggested that in the settings for your clock to switch it to automatically sync with your GPS. I made that change and my clock has been right ever since.
  24. Having the car option set to ECO cruise should not make any difference to how the car drives unless you have the cruise control set at a specific speed. There is "Cruise Control" and ECO "cruise control". With "cruise control", if you set your car to go 68 mph it will go 68 mph even if it has to run at wide open throttle. With ECO "cruise control", if you set your car to go 68 mph, it may allow the car to slow down while climbing a hill in order to not work as hard, and save some gasoline. However, in my opinion, I don't care if it's "cruise control" or ECO "cruise control", you will always achive your best mileage if you drive with your right foot, the seat of your pants, and your head! The only place using "cruise control" would get you the same MPG's both turned on or off would be on a perfectly straight and flat road which I haven't found yet...
