Seeking FE/mpg mod updates...what's worth doing?
ptjones replied to Jujulie's topic in Accessories & Modifications
From the last time you reset it with pushing down the OK button for five seconds or when it goes to zero. I always reset it when I reset trip gauge. Paul -

Grill Cover Sets Available To Improve Winter MPG's
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Fuel Mileage
You need to screw on permanently the center Grill Cover so if can't come off, no reason to take it off. All the cooling can be done with the bottom one. You can setup My View with Empower of left and WT on right side. Did the buzzer go off? Paul -

Are you using Premium and 50psi tire pressure? If not that will easily do it. :) Paul -
Well it kind of happen again, a Lexus CT 200h tried to race me going the opposite direction at the same intersection as the Prius V, what are the chances of that happening. I wasn't even thinking about racing, he floored it and started to go so he got a jump on me so it took about 3 - 4 seconds to just blow by him. When will they ever learn. LOL :) It has to be embarrassing to have a FORD CMAX just blow by you(" Linda Ronstadt" ). :lol2: Paul

How to Drive a CMAX Hybrid/FFH to get Great Gas Mileage
ptjones replied to ptjones's topic in Hybrid Driving Tips & Tricks
Posted Today, 05:51 PM And it went up again :) , I think I will hit 50 mpg by the end of Summer. And 193k miles too. YouTube views upto almost 7k. :) Paul -
I pretty much never use cruise, I just do it my self, I'm my own ECO Cruise and with 193k mi. it's pretty much automatic for me. :) If I ever do get too tired, I'll use ECO Cruise. With 79% HWY driving, I'm averaging 51.6% EV. Thing to remember that means you go 1/2 in ICE then 1/2 mile in EV. :) Paul

What WT were you seeing? I don't worry about it until it gets to 230*F. The alarm goes off at 246*F and the system is design for 264*F before it boils. I didn't think about it, but I could have used black LEXAN. When New the Grill Covers aren't very noticeable. The Black looks good. :) What's the MPG's looking like on this tank compared to last? Paul -
At Atlanta Car Show they didn't have any info for FEH yet. Paul

I just made a trip to Orlando, FL and back using I-75/I-4 FWY and averaged 54 mpg, temps 60-90*F, some A/C and EV 57.5% of the time. Watch my "How to get great gas mileage in a CMAX YouTube videos: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/ Paul

You do need to light foot it to keep it in EV, it would be interesting to video you starting out in the morning to see your SOC and Power demand to get a feel for what's going on. In the morning I have no problem EV it to 35mph when the ICE turns on for the first time to lube the Trans and get the WT to 128*F. Typically SOC needs to be 45% or higher. After that with 60% SOC I can get up to 50mph, but not quickly. :) As long as you keep the blue Empower Bar below the max EV power available blue line the car will stay in EV. Paul

I talked to Michelin's customer service and told them I was using 50psi and was getting even wear. He told me then he would recommend 50psi if I was getting even wear. The tire say 51psi max cold and tire wouldn't blow up until around 200 psi someone said. Did you wear out a set of Michelin's? My FORD Dealer beat any price from anywhere else. :) I think I got a FORD Mastercard debit card for $50 too. I think I paid $800 installed. I don't think the GoodYears last very long. Paul -

Don't waste gas warming up the car, It does help to use block /Oil pan heaters. The difference in MPG's for such a short distance is the SOC(State of Charge) of HVB, the higher it is the more EVing you can do. Please look at my You Tube videos mentioned in Post #2 or thread "How to get great gas mileage in a CMAX" and it will answer all your questions. :) Paul

Seeking FE/mpg mod updates...what's worth doing?
ptjones replied to Jujulie's topic in Accessories & Modifications
Don't hit OK, Just shut off car and watch the left Smart Gauge Screen, first you should see your current trip results and in about 15 sec Life Time should show up otherwise hit up or down buttons once and LifeTime Score should show up. Paul -

My Gas Pods are 2.5" approx. from the rear of Gas Pod to the back of hatch roof line. Paul -
ScanGaugeII shows me what the state of Charge(SOC) is if that is any help. Paul
