  1. My average on this tank is up to 53.2 mpg with temps in the 20's - 30's and You Tube Views up to 4900. :) Paul
  2. This morning at 9AM temps were only 22*F Brrr. And got 48mpg going 7 mi. to work. Started with 44% SOC, 85*F WT, garage was 49*F and ended up with 40% SOC. Paul
  3. Michelin's Energy Savers have worked fine for me and I'm probably going to get 70k mi on my third set. :) Paul
  4. They look NEW, only 3 months on them. :) Will rotate in 4k miles. I'm sure I will never have to replace them. Paul
  5. I started a thread: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6887-where-to-get-replacement-lug-nuts/where I figure out a solution that is alot cheaper than using FORD's lug nuts. I hope it didn't cost you $120. Paul
  6. Actually they got the numbers from the Fusion Hybrid/NRG and they used Ethanol Free gas. If you check your odometer with GPS you see you actually went around 1.018% farther so that makes up some of the discrepancy. Interesting thing I have seen is the better your MPG's, the closer the actual gallons and Smart Gauge readings are. How do you get 29 mpg with an NRG, are you pluging it in? :headscratch: Paul
  7. Car is quieter if you have stuff in the trunk and the cover closed. :) Generally the tires are the noisiest thing after 20k mi. I like how smooth the car rides, no vibrations. :) Paul
  8. The only reason to go to 0W20 Full synthetic is FE from what I can see and that is why I use it. I checked my last oil change and FORD put in their standard 5W20 instead of 0W20 that the new CMAX's use, but my MPG's went up which has nothing to do with oil used. Driving conditions have everything to do with MPG's. :) Paul
  9. Interestingly BlackStone Labs suggested I could go to 15K ICE mi. with last Oil Report results which would be about 35k odometer miles. :) Paul
  10. This last week since fill up temps have been 20's - 30*F, but still have 52.7 mpg on Smart Gauge. In theory I should have lost 7 mpg (-2 mpg for each 10*F drop in temperature). So instead of 7 I've lost 2 mpg. :) You Tube videos upto over 4800 now. :) Paul
  11. Here is what I know with 175K on my 2013 SEL, Premium defiantly makes a 1-2 mpg depending on Octane which can be 93 down to 90 in NM I think. I have used a ScanGaugeII to monitor this. I'm not saying it is cost effective, but I have been using Premium most of the time and the few times I didn't I was very frustrated. Second: I hope you have the OEM Michelin tires on the car, anything else decreases MPG's. Third: this thread will tell you how to get the best MPG's: http://fordcmaxhybridforum.com/topic/6568-how-to-drive-a-cmax-hybridffh-to-get-great-gas-mileage/page-1 Forth: I have been using Mobil 1 with FORD oil filter and got my best BlackStone oil analysis so far with 13K ICE mi. and about 30K odometer miles. :) The ICE will out last the car. Fifth: Hopefully you won't have trans problems, but if you do want to have them before the warranty runs out at 8yrs/100k mi. The way things are going on my car it could go to +500K mi. :) Paul Paul
  12. That's the way it's suppose to go. :) It did for me too. Paul
  13. I think Dealers are running out of NRG's. :headscratch: Paul
  14. I also agree that would be good info to know for everyone else. :) Paul
  15. That's brutal. I don't know if having a heater inside the car is going to help much. Paul
  16. Under those conditions you really need block/ oil pan heaters to have a chance of getting enough heat in the ICE to turn it off. In my opinion all Hybrids should come with block heaters standard. Paul
  17. Not that bad in Atlanta area high 35*F today still Brrr. Using oil pan heater at home and work. 54 mpg/ 50 mi. on this tank so far. :) Paul
  18. I did my normal 7 mi. trip to work and these where the conditions. Garage was 52*F, with oil pan heaters on WT 91*F, HVB temp 52*F and SOC 41%. Outside temp 21*F, I got 52.8 mpg with 39% SOC. Didn't see HVB temp when I got to work, but when I went to lunch an hour and a half later if was 59*F. Drove 4 miles to lunch and 4 mi. back with 54 mpg too and 47 mpg back, ended up with 50% SOC and HVB temp 64*F. Two and a half hours later HVB temp was down to 48*F with OT of 27*F and SOC was up to 56%. :) Paul
  19. I'm surprised how good my gas mileage has been with temps in the 30's and 40's and about 60% hwy. With 540 mi. on tank and 55.6 mpg Smart Gauge average, I should have another 700+ mi. tank and 54 actual/fuelly mpg. :) Bottom line is these Mods really work and pretty much anyone can do them. :) Paul
  20. I haven't lost any bulbs yet at 175k mi./ over 5yrs. Was 15 volts today with 12.4 volts before starting, stabilized at 14.9 volts. :) Paul
  21. Yesterday We made our normal trip up to North Atlanta(49mi.) to see our new grandson and see the New Star Wars movie. I started out and ended up with 53.9 mpg, outside temps 45*F going Up and 35*F going home with 40 mi. FWY and 9 miles, 45 mph City. I did have 5 miles of stop and go HWY construction going( extra 30 min.) up and nothing going home. Better than I would expect given the temps. You Tube videos up to 4,550 now, Hoping these are helping new members to improve their MPG's this winter.

For those who haven't seen them: I have made three YouTube Videos for driving a CMAX the way it was designed to be driven, Called "How to drive a CMAX Hybrid to get great gas mileage",Also " CMAX Mods to improve MPG's" and "Hypermiling to improve MPG's". https://www.youtube...._id=5uHoZ5QhVXs Efficiency and Aerodynamic Mods: The First thing to do is to raise your tire pressure of your Michelin's to 50psi which is safe to do and I got 64k miles for each set of tires on my CMAX. https://www.youtube...._id=Xmuw6275PRw Hypermiling Video not recommended for those who can't focus on situational awareness of traffic around you all the time. https://www.youtube...._id=s09mywF78g4 Paul
  23. Maybe in twenty years, again with 174k mi. on MADMAX with small lose in capacity I'm getting the best MPG's ever! I'm not aware of any HVB failing yet. Think about it, we only use a maximum of 1/3 of the HVB capacity(65%-32% SOC) and usually I use about 10% of the SOC 40% to 50% SOC. I think other things will brake before the HVB. IMO :) Paul
