  1. Maybe in Fifty years, Hybrid/PHEV are the most practical solution for the foreseeable future. If the grid goes down you are SOL with all electric. IMO :) Most vehicles will come in a Hybrid/PHEV version in the near future as long as gas is cheap. :) Paul
  2. For me I like the shifter because I coast when It's convenient so it's just a matter going between D and N, easy,no brainier. :) Paul
  3. The First Post has all the items I keep track of, so if you can figure out as much as you can and I will and to the list. Thanks :) Paul
  4. What about Trip 2, do you clear it when you fillup? Members that have 2014 and newer CMAX's shouldn't clear Trip 2 until you get 10k mi., except I think EV only gets to 999mi. So in the final analysis the best way is to take a pic of trip gauge at every fillup with cell phone so you have permanent record. I do this for Fuelly so I have 226 pics on my iPhone. :) It is a shame FORD did away with the Life Time Display. Paul
  5. Wait a minute, it would be great if we could use static electricity charge the HVB. :) IMO LOL Paul
  6. Interesting, must be all that towing. LOL :) I'm also averaging about 4 mpg more too, little more city driving. :) Paul
  7. I'm guessing we will be receiving a notice in the mail from FORD. :drop: Paul
  8. Mine was replaced under the original FORD 100k mi./8yr Hybrid warranty and I didn't tow, but I did have Grill Covers. :) I have 38k mi. on new Trans. and getting Great MPG's. :) Paul
  9. The OM says 150K and problems were caused by bad bearing. Replaced my Trans at 98k mi. What year is yours? Paul
  10. I believe more FORD's are going that way to improve FE. Make sense anyway. My current tank at 350mi. i'm at 59mpg, one thing that I think has improved my FE is that of my 7 mile trip back and forth to work and home, four miles is newly paved so the car rolls easier. :) IMO Paul
  11. And with the windows down some, not to bad with a good breeze. :) The wife doesn't appreciate it to much so we take her car when it's bad. It makes a big difference on mpg's for short distances. Paul
  12. I think you use all brakes 5mph and slower and maybe rears going faster when not getting a perfect brake score. :) Paul
  13. With temps in the 90's*F MPG's keep going up, 57.3mpg last tank on Fuelly and this one I'm up over 60mpg with speeds 35-55 mostly and little A/C. I do have both middle and lower Grill Covers on all the time and rarely get to ICE operating temps. :) Paul
  14. I still think if you drive the car like a hybrid you should never have to replace the brakes. IMO I do have a 98% LifeTime brake score which I'm sure helps. :) Paul
  15. In my case I think it was oil from the PCV valve off the valve cover into the intake system. :headscratch: I have accelerated hard several times with no smoke, but when I slammed on the brakes and then accelerated hard is when I saw the smoke. Paul
  16. It's been two and half years since I've had this happen and I have 135k mi. now. :) It is scary when it happens. Paul
  17. With 135k miles on my rotors look pretty new, I do have a brake score of 98%. To me it looks like rust. :headscratch: Paul
  18. I thought someone said they had their trans go bad being flat towed on this forum. I would find out what FORD Dealer they took their CMAX too and have it done there. I'm assuming that the car is drive-able or tow-able. My experience is that you can go alot of miles with the Trans making noise. Paul
  19. Were you able to get a hold of our FORD REP? :drop: Paul
  20. 225 fillups and my Life Time is still going up. :yahoo: I need to add more members to the Life Time List. :) I see three of us are tied for 48.2 mpg, C-MaxSea and SnowStrom. Great Job everyone! :yahoo: Paul

    Life Time 7/14/2016 48.2mpg
  22. When I had mine fail in Albuquerque, FORD payed for car rental to GA and back to NM. The towing thing might be putting a monkey wrench to the warranty. :gaah: Wonder if anyone else on this forum has experience with your situation. Do you have any idea how many miles you have towing? Do you put it in Neutral to do flat towing? I'm not sure who is our FORD Rep on this forum, but it might be Joy. Paul
  23. This isn't true, first IT( intake temp ) is air which comes from the ICE compartment into the intake maniforld, which I monitor. Second the electric motor/generators are inside the CVT which you can monitor with OBDII gauge as well as TFT(trans fluid temp.). I monitor FTF, IT, WT and SOC when I drive. Thirdly the Inverter has it's own cooling system as well as CVT. The ICE computer is in the car, so temps shouldn't be a problem their. BTW I have 135k mi. on my CMAX and I'm getting as good as mileage as I have ever gotten. :) Paul
  24. You are right and you need to be level to get the most in. Scottwood2 how many gallons did you put in your tank? :) Paul
  25. You actually did if you add in the %the odometer is off. LOL :yahoo: Hopefully that makes you feel better. :) How many gallons did you put in the tank? Remember you have a 13.9-14 gallon tank. Good Job. Paul
