  1. It is suprising how your MPG's keep going up with the outside temps. LOL Yesterday with temps in the low 90's and A/C on about half the time, I-85/I-285 around Atlanta, 90miles I averaged 52mpg. I had some stop and go on I-285 and even had to get off the FWY for a short stretch , but I was also going 80-75mph a good chunk of the time. Also filled up last night, 746mi.,13.5gal and 55.45mpg, you've got to love high temps. LOL :) Paul
  2. I'd go back to post #2. :) You might ask for help from other members that are in your area. Paul
  3. Maybe there is a little difference from car to car, but I don't see this as a problem with my car. You have to have your foot on the brake to get in reverse, you need to have enough pressure so the car doesn't move and then slowly let the pressure off. I'm 68. ;) Paul
  4. Talking to FORD Dealer Sales Mgr he said you got to have two Charging Stations. ;) Paul
  5. In case someone may have missed this the Trans has it's own cooler in front of the ICE radiator, they are separate. :) Paul
  6. I would suggest checking for a FORD Electric Dealer(usually larger dealer and you can find them at FORD.com) and then talk to Service Writer to see if they have any experience with your problem. I got lucky with my Trans. I think part of being a Electric Dealer is having two charging stations. :) Paul
  7. Got mine today, but with 101Kmi. on it I question the need. If it's not broken, don't fix it. :) Paul
  8. You don't have your foot on the brake when you backup? Is the ICE running? :) Paul
  9. I didn't know they made CMAX's in 1913 LOL. It's to bad you weren't able to check your Trans temps, It would have been a good data point. I'm assuming Trans Fluid is being pumped through the cooler to the bearings in the Trans and then to the gears. It wouldn't hurt to open up hood every time you stop during hot temps to allow the Trans to cool off some, otherwise it won't. IMO this whole Trans failing problem could be caused by high TFT or Bad Bearings or the combination of both. It does look like people who do a lot of FWY driving are having the bulk of the problems, maybe all. I like the idea of using synthetic AFT, it couldn't hurt. I don't know that FORD has done anything to solve the Trans problem, only time will tell. ;) Paul
  10. Well I'm at almost 101Kmi. and still no injector problems, I think I used Techron at around 60Kmi. Are you using Top Tier Gas? ;) Paul
  11. The cooling system wouldn't be the problem, but the Trans cooling sure would. ;) Paul
  12. SEL in the on position will only deplete the HVB so much and then stop, because you can jump start the car with a 12v battery to get the computers going and then the HVB starts the car. I had that happen once to my car. :) Paul
  13. It is worth mentioning if you think you are having Trans issue find a Dealer that has replaced one. Hopefully they will know what they are doing and won't be learning at your expense. IMO ;) Paul
  14. I still think some of these dead 12v battery problems are caused by inadvertently leaving the car in accessory position on SEL's, I have caught myself a few times, you would have to have left the keys in the ignition for the SE for this to happen. ;) Paul
  15. The question has been asked whether MAX speed/improved MPG for HWY Software update effected TFT. The Software speed change (62 to 85mph) didn't effect TFT, the change in shutter opening did, before it would start at 190*F and fully open at 213*F, now it waits to open till 215*F. I made a trip 25 miles up and then back, I was only able to get WT up to 207*F on the way up with Grill Covers on OT 80's, but TFT got to 175*F. Before returning I removed tape from 5x2" holes in the lower grill cover and then returned home down the I-85. the ICE had cooled down some so I had to run the ICE most of the time to get to 215*F for the shutters to open, by that time TFT was up to 179*F, but then dropped down to 175*F in ten miles with ICE running most of the time. The only time Trans Fluid gets circulated is when ICE is running the Trans Pump. The WT stayed in the 215-225*F so the shutters were open most of the time. My speed was 65-75mph and I averaged 52mpg for the trip. BTW I don't recommend a Trans Heater Pad, because of the loss of cooling surface area. ;) Paul
  16. Given recent Trans failure I can't recommend using Trans Heater Pad figuring it would only cause Trans to get warmer with decreased cooling area. I saw this with ICE heating pad . :) Paul
  17. I know someone that has an Mariner Hybrid AWD and FORD made Escape Hybrid AWD too. :) Paul
  18. I thought we heard the Hybrid Escape was coming back. ;) BTW FORD could fine tune the CMAX like I have done and add another 4-5mpg without adding hardly any cost to the CMAX at all. :) Paul
  19. They already make a Transit Direct Electric, I don't know If anyone has seen one. :) Paul
  20. IMO CMAX has quite a bit with more room for people and trunk space than a Focus Hatchback and I can get 47mpgHWY/53mpgCITY regularly. Focus doesn't come close to that. My Fuelly average is 46.2mpg being 83% HWY miles. :) Paul
  21. They didn't put any cost numbers(Warranty), just parts break down and no labor. It might be a good Idea to extend your warranty when you get close. ;) Paul
  22. TrueDelta didn't have any FFH or Energi's listed. There is a CMAX NRG owner with 70Kmi that got new trans. Right now we have virtually no info from FORD other than if it makes noise replace it. No preventative maintenance like changing the Trans Fluid at 50Kmi. All the info I have come up with is the normal temp range for Hybrid is around 150*F and mine got up to 199*F before I first heard the high pitch sound from Trans. When Trans was removed Trans Fluid was darker than normal and smelled burn, but no metal filings. My new Trans has already gotten to 192*F with 1600mi on it. Generally speaking high TFT are caused from FWY speeds and not around town. I will come up a band-aid solution eventually, but first I need to do more testing. Paul
  23. Yes it was, maybe because it not adjustable. :) Paul
  24. 65K should be the life of the tire, but if you can keep going put the rights on left side and vs, at least you don't have to remount the tires. At 64Kmi. I only had 1/64" difference from outside to inside. They do make different upper control arms for the rear, I had one changed to get the alignment right. At this mileage I wouldn't spend the money to reverse mount the tires and instead buy new ones with that money. :) Paul
  25. I checked again with SM at Dealer and he said there are no specs for temp range for HF35 CVT Trans. On TrueDelta.com they have 3 failed Trans for CMAX's, mine and two low mileage CMAX's. Paul
