  1. Can you set it for once every minute or maybe every 5 minutes on your trip? Be careful on your drive. I PMed you on how to delete Pics. :) Paul
  2. I agree that this is a City Driving Car, but I'm wondering if your trips were so short that it didn't give time for the HVB and 12v batteries enough to over come the energy lost of starting and sitting awhile. I'm not sure that's possible, but it might be. ;) Paul
  3. If your HVB SOC is low the ICE will start immediately to put some charge in it. :) Paul
  4. Great Job! I printed out your Data and it is obvious to me that my Transmission runs hotter than yours. On a trip like yours I would be running around 150*F. What I don't know for sure is whether Grill Covers have any effect on Trans temps. Going home without lower Grill Cover to night, see if it makes any difference. Marc Smith looks Like Grill Covers would help get your ICE up to operating temp and sooner too. You need to get to 202*F as quickly as possible. My FORD SM said he was told Trans operating temp was the same as ICE, 200-220*F. I know from my experience the only time I see those temps is on the FWY. :) Paul
  5. I don't think that would heat up Trans Fluid, more likely cool it. Now pumping Trans Fluid to lubricate the transmission makes sense, the ICE automatically comes on the first time you hit 35MPH if it hasn't been on already. Transmission will heat up quicker if the pump isn't on because of less fluid to transfer the heat generated from the Transmission. :) Paul
  6. Can't wait to hear how it turns out. Paul
  7. Why doesn't someone try putting an electric heater in the back area to keep the HVB warmer like 32 degreesF. It would be interesting to see if it would work. :) Paul
  8. Here are the right numbers for the XGauge for Trans Fluid Temp for the ScanGaugeII: TXD: 07E6221E1C RXF: 0462051E061C RXD: 3010 MTH: 000900500020 NAM: TFT :) Paul
  9. Need help testing CMAXs to determine the actual operating temperature range of Transmission Fluid for City and FWY driving. I have a ScanGaugeII that I could loan for short period of time to monitor Trans, Water and Intake temps to log down. Also here is a link to a company that makes inexpensive Engine and trans monitor. http://www.ksolution.org/outdoor/enginelink.htm If we get enough people to take part we will be able to come up with an average and what temps could be a sign of a problem. Members can PM me if they are interested. Hopefully this will help members with potential Trans problems down the road. :) Paul
  10. This morning I had the Trans Heater on for three hours and It was reading 148*F with garage temp of 57*F. My HVB was low so the ICE started up immediately and TFT dropped to 132*F quickly and back up to 136*F by the time I got to work in 2.4mi., an indication that the Trans pump is working some, OT was 41*F. :) Paul
  11. salsaguy, are you really going to do it this time or you just pulling our leg again. LOL You know more about CMAX's than most of the members on this Forum and have been on here longer than most members, it will be great for you to finally have one. IMHO :) Paul
  12. +1 to that, couldn't have said it better myself. :) Paul
  13. I suggest you bring that up with FORD. :) Paul
  14. Hybridbear has a NRG FFH and His highest TFT was 170*F at 70*FOT on trip to CA because the pump runs all the time. When I'm driving on the FWY I EV 25-40% of the time which allows Temps to go up when ICE is not running and circulating Trans Fluid. ;) Paul
  15. Sounds like a bad battery connection to me. ;) Paul
  16. Thanks for the Help. Do you have a CMAX Hybrid and NRG? We need the Temps for Hybrid. Thanks again. :) Paul
  17. Thanks for the info Ken. Around town driving TFT stays under 200*F but not 125*F . Can you monitor your TFT? At this point I think we need to test several CMAXs and see what Trans temps they are running on the FWY. ;) Paul
  18. [sharedmedia=gallery:images:252] I use to make the Grill Covers, but here is the info on them. I can put them on and take off in just a few seconds. :) Paul [sharedmedia=gallery:images:715]
  19. Check out my Grill Covers Posts and Block and Oil Pan Heater Post. Yesterday with outside temp of 20*F I made several trips for a total of 26mi and averaged about 52.5MPG. That's what Grill Covers will do for you. :) Paul
  20. Yesterday with outside temp at 20*F I drove into town, back to the house, to work, back to the house and then back to work. This shows how well Grill Covers work. I used Block, Oil and Trans Heaters to start with. 1. 8.3mi. 47.9mpg 2. 11.1mi 54.6mpg 3. 2.4mi. 46mpg 4. 2.4mi. 80mpg 5. 2.4mi. 35.2mpg For an average of about 52.5MPG :happy feet: Paul Paul
  21. I PM you to see if you wanted to talk about it, I'm in the Atlanta Area. :) Paul
  22. Here is a Link to MERCON LV Trans Fluid: www.fcsdchemicalsandlubricants.com/main/additionalinfo/Product Data Sheet MERCON LV.pdf The Flash point for it is 421*F , 120*F higher than trip temp. :) Paul
  23. This is a good reason to install Grill Covers which eliminate this problem. BTW I have a shutter assembly from my car from Deer accident and it is all plastic and can be broken easily. ;) Paul
  24. I would suggest you PM Tricia our FORD Service Rep with your info and just solve the problem. IMO :) Paul
