I'm having the same problem as Armoredsaint. My liftgate worked with a kick 0% of the time before the upgrade; now works 10% of the time after the upgrade. When we bought the car in April, the salesman couldn't get it to work on the demo car; he said "this thing never works for me." Why Ford continues to advertise this non-working feature is beyond me.
