This has happened to me on 3 separate occasions and have had a software update and all the recalls performed. The last time was about 4 months ago and have not had a problem since the last update. I am putting up with it since I do love the Cmax but I may explore lemon laws here in AZ if it does happen the next time. Like I said though it has worked the last 4 months. I do leave my iPod plugged in but it doesn't seem to be the issue. The only downfall is since the last update the clock on the center info screen will not allow me to reset it. It just goes on its own Ford Galaxie time, see what I did there? The clock next to the speedo works correctly however, and changes when you reset it.

Brother Mike Us Polaks tend to stand out on our own, maybe not for the brightest of reasons... But do you have any suggestions on how I should do it. I do not have any of my car equipment (jacks, stands, torque wrench, etc) to remove the tires myself. I may be able to find some from a neighbor... But I know our calipers are right up against the wheel and getting back there could be quite difficult. Can you be precise with the application process and avoid a lot of overspray?

I seem to be achieving a little better mpg than most on here with no mods. So I can give tips and tricks in that regards I guess. Definitely looking to the mods people have finally done. I think a simple plasti dip to the wheels is in order first

Brother Mike Did you end up plastidipping your wheels?? How did you do it and how have the results been?? Thinking of doing this in the next couple days. I have a Sterling grey with limo tint as well as a de-badging so I think this will make the car pop a little more.

My Cmax came with them from the dealer for freeeeeeeeeeeeee. Around town I can average around 50mpg and highway around 42 so I'm getting better than average as it is. It probably will do better with them off but I do like the look of them on the car. I the difference is an mpg or two then that is a sacrifice I am willing to make. Plus I live in a more rural part of Arizona and have a commute on a small two lane highway to work. All through the middle of empty Indian reservation land. It does save the vehicle from the infamous rock chips out here so I'm okay with that. -
Hey guys! I signed up for this and was active when I first purchased my Cmax back in November of 2012. Well I haven't been around at all so I decided to give an update on how things are going! I have a 2013 SE in Sterling Grey with 19,850 miles on it. It has been a very versatile car and have enjoyed driving it everyday. I have not done any mods besides limo tint and a de-badging. I use the car for my commuter and everyday car out here in the Phoenix valley. I have a 30 mile each way commute to work and usually average around 48-50 mpg on the way there and around 40-42 on the way back. There is an elevation change of about 1000 feet which is why there is the mileage difference. About 70% of the commute is 2 lane highway then a 4 lane freeway. With the other 30% surface streets. I usually drive 65-75 on the highway and then the speed limit on the surface streets. Overall I am around 44mpg on a full tank based off the CPU. Average around 530-560 miles a tank. The only issue I have had was my car just flat out dying at complete random. I would go in the garage to go to work and the car would be completely dead. No lights whatsoever as well as the power door locks will not work. Each time I've had to have roadside tow me to the dealer where they would charge it and test the battery. Each time the battery has come back as good!! The car would sit in the garage for 8 hours and be completely dead!! Happened three times so far. Thankfully this has not happened in the last 4 months. His car has been amazing for road trips to California that I do about once every other month. Great ride and very comfortable. I really enjoy the power it has and I would even drive this car wen if it was not a hybrid. The truck I've found that works best for me is the pulse and glide technique. It has really helped me maintain a decent mpg. Oh I also never received my goodwill payment yet.... Wondering where the hell that is... Anyways if you have any questions fire away!!! Looking forward to being around again!!

The push&glide technique works wonders. This car was made for it. After discovering this thread I now get 50-52mpg on my 13 mile commute to work.. 108 miles into the tank and not even to 3/4.. range comp says 340 til empty

Not really. The dealership I work for also owns a Ford store as well (plus BMW, Porsche, Mercedes, Chrysler, VW) Its not as bad as it used to be. Now if I was in Detroit it would be a different story...

Just did my first commute to work in my new C-Max today and it is 13 miles and 95% highway and got 44.2 mpg while driving around 65-70mph (speed limit on highways in Phoenix are 65). Barely any miles on it since I bought it yesterday.

Nice. Maybe soon I will see another on the road. Its just weird that all of the dealers around the east valley are selling them in droves but I have not seen one on the road.. I live in the Ahwatukee Foothills and look out of place next to all the BMW's, Lexus, and Mercedes...

I just bought mine yesterday here in Chandler, AZ.. mine is the first I've seen on the road in the area. Although the dealers cannot keep them on the lot..

Hello all! Just bought my CMax yesterday afternoon here locally in Chandler, AZ. I am one of the first out here driving one, since I have not seen any on the road. I am actually in sales at a Chevy dealer but fell in love with this car. Perfect for me and the family and the drive is 100x quieter, smoother, and even more powerful than my old 2012 Civic coupe. Since I work for delaers I got myself a nice deal below invoice and would have gladly paid full sticker for this car. This is my first Ford since my first truck I ever owned in a beast of a 4.0L V6 Ranger. I ended up getting a base SE in the Sterling Grey Metallic. Looking forward to all the good stories and tips for this great vehicle!
