How does the c-max compute the fuel used? I reset trip odometer each time I buy gas. When I refuel, I check the display readout. It tells how many gallons of gas used but when I fill the tank it always takes more gas than the display says by around a gallon or so. Is there a fuel line meter for gas usage? Can this be fixed? As a result, the display mpg calculation is always about 2 mpg higher than actual mpg.

I am satisfied with my mileage so far and it is what I expected after reading of others experience. However, the dash mileage is not what I calculate. I calculate each tank of gas by miles driven on the tank and gas used. The display reads around 2 mpg higher than actual. The problem is this. When I check the trip information display it shows how much gas used on the tank and it is less than what it takes to fill. How is the gas usage calculated by the car? Why does it always read about a gallon or so less than what it actually takes to fill? Is this a systemic problem and is it correctable by software changes?
