  1. So is being in EV long term with a high SOC just wasting FE potential? And doesn't the computer pick up on this? This is my next learning curve and have been reading the threads. Would just like to know if my inference is heading in the right direction.

Montana winter and in service shop 49 days dinged me.

This car is therapy with wheels. ☺

  3. Love to cruise. Ride is so smooth cause I use the cruise to moderate my speed in conjunction with the decease speed ahead and speed limit signs. You can hit right on the speed limit at the end speed sign. My instantaneous fe is 41.3. Just use the accelerator to get to speed up if I have someone behind. Working my way to my next goal of 45. The day trips I often get 56,65 but the best is when I go a few hundred feet and it shows 999.9.And the hill assist is a great tool on these western mountain declines where you need to keep it say around 25-35.

  4. Paul I think you've hit on something valuable. Explain please more about a warranty ticket. It seems that sometimes you don't anything after a visit or they say the customer wants on the printout. The more I read here I wonder how much of all the problems are new owner, design flaw-mechanical or software, outside supplier. And this is for BullDurham-thank you for your comments. I know that especially now to be able to express how you feel and to try and help someone else gives meaning to your life. Reduce the stress whatever way you can. You have the fight of your life on your hands. Good people here. They would fix your car if they could and you too. Lastly took an almost 97 year old cancer patient on a drive and she gets a big smile, loves the navigation. Likes to tell me the street names. It's all about perspective. God bless and hope you get the answer you need.

  5. OK. An update on my 'service hell'. Car ended up being in the shop 49 days. They ended up putting a part from another car into mine to get it back to me. Airbag module. Focus loaner and since I had premium coverage dealer said no daily charge, just had to pay for the gas. Dealer still has to update sync as it was still not updated and the global windows still not turned off. Asked for oil change, synthetic and tire rotation- no charge.  This car is so much fun to drive. I kissed it when I got it back.  As soon as I got it back I kept promises made for rides to a couple of elders. One almost 90 and another almost 97. Priceless. One got out at the end of the ride and said 'now that was an experience.'  The other would ask if we were in electric or engine.  Could not believe how smooth it was going from one to the other.

  6. When I got the c max I called my Dad. After listening to me go on and on- the mileage, the high seat, the view. Silence. Then he quoted  the bible- Consumer Reports. I pleaded my case weekly. Trips with 57 mpg, 49, 74 and low 40's. The silence of a car start. Then during one phone call he sighed and said- it's a good car till something happens. In March he was diagnosed with cancer. In April as he lay dying in bed and I was 2000 miles away on the phone I wondered what do I say to lift the mood. Then it came to me. I swallowed my pride. I told him- it is in the shop. A momentary silence then laughter. Told him I still love the car. Dad died last week. Cars are personal. My first car was a ten year old Ford Falcon that Dad bought. Ford please fix the c max problems, find the solutions so this good car does not fade away.

  7. This car is the best I've ever driven. Yet I am so fearful as two weeks ago I got a message while driving 70 miles per hour that the Advance Trac needed service.. Dealer could not get it in for 4 days. Now they tell me after clearing multiple codes, that a module has not come in so far five days counting. And today that maybe they'll have to take the part out of another car on the lot and put it in mine. They have now had my car 15 days.
