  1. I agree shipping time and packaging was top notch. Haven't tried the product yet but hope to sooner than not Interesting applicator on the end of a 5 or 6 inch long metal housing. The applicator is much like a broad tip felt marker. Shake the pen until the balls inside rattle and fully mix the paint then apply the paint by pushing the felt tip into the scratch and covering with first primer, then the base coat, followed by the clearcoat. Seems like a great product, we'll see how closely it matches the rest of Maxus Platinum White paint job.
  2. Not sure they could do anything about a mod to incorporate the 2014 hood air gap. Since unless they know what the change is suppose to involve? It would difficult to include it in the CF hood for us. Has far as affecting the crumple zone, I think it would have little effect since a CF replacement panel is much stronger and lighter than it's steel counterpart. Look at how functional 100% CF construction is in race car chassis protecting the drivers legs which extend out beyond the front wheels at great speeds. They are designed to stay intact upon impact and absorb the crash forces. I'm no expert on the subject but I think the use of CF components won't lessen passenger safety by using CF components, it lightens the car while retaining strength and adds high coolness factor and tech appeal. It just depends on whether the CF look is appealing to you or not?
  3. Truly amazing, I can't even imagine how you drove to that inspiring number considering how hard it was for me to achieve my personal best at 650+ and running the tank dry. But your remarks to Jus even if meant in a different light were tasteless and insensitive considering what he's been through and possibly losing his Maxine.
  4. I'd just be happy to earn a 700 mile run. Came close but ran out of gas at 650+
  5. I never got my factory buttons to work with my Chamberlain opener. Tried so many times to get it programmed with no success. Gave up and use the remote which came with my opener
  6. Jus so sorry some rude person would have the nerve to give you grief for something you did not cause. Pleeease don't leave your input is invaluable to us all. I"m sorry Maxine is hurting too.
  7. Cashed the check and put it on a Bank Debit card for purchase of toys for me. To date I have bought a wireless 1TB external Seagate HD ($199.99) for archiving my 500+ HD movies from iTunes. Also I bought a my new Hella LED DRL lights ($130). Lastly a Craftsman wet/dry vac for my garage ($40). The remainder of the balance went to the wife for whatever she deems more important than me blowing the whole wad which I would have done given the opportunity.
  8. Funny I can't even speak for how Maxus reacts, since I've never really floored her in the 13 months I've had her. At least not for any long period like trying to overtake a slower car or truck.
  9. right now I don't know but it is something I will throw out to my contact at VISracing since I've said I will host this group purchase. Stay Tuned.
  10. But very nice mod you did with the fake stuff, even I might consider doing this if I find a good supplier locally in ZIP 95124
  11. granted the vinyl CF products have come a long way in recent years, but for me it just doesn't do justice for what I'm wanting. The high glossy finish with the weave buried underneath it just looks so cool combined with the slight golden hue of the weave cast in the sun. Curious how you cut the nice smooth edge around the whole piece. A nice sharp x-acto blade perhaps. But not cutting into the paint some how?
  12. I agree the look of unpainted CF is like nothing else in the full sun. Especially with a great high gloss clear resin finish like VISracing offers. Thanks for your positive comments. One thing is for sure the less weight would allow for slightly better fuel economy. That's my leverage point with my wife. The wow and coolness factor just doesn't register with her.
  13. I think I've seen you driving around SillyCorn Valley or possibly another Black Energi?

    Dog barrier installed

very ingenious, nice job and DIY project. Wonder if this would also work in a Hybrid SEL? Did that black strap come with your Energi?
  15. Oh how I wish I could do one of these, but it's a pipe dream I'm afraid.
  16. I always take the meter to the closet $$, so i.e. $45.50 I would bump up to an even $46
  17. Hello fellow CMaxer's I wanted to throw out to the membership something that I've been toying with for some time. As my topic states a top notch high quality carbon fiber hood for our CMax. I just love the high tech look of carbon fiber racing parts. Our hoods being shorter than most would really work well combined with the extra strength and rigidity of CF. VISracing is known for their high quality glossy resin finish CF components. If I had one of these, I would not be painting it, but they can be painted to match the color of your Max. So with that said, any interest in doing a group purchase for say just off the top of my head, $300-$400 per hood? This mod can't possibly affect your Factory Warranty, so does worry about that being a factor. Hope to hear from a number of our members, I would serve as the host of this group purchase and take the orders for the group to VIS. :happy feet: Below is my email to the company. Hello Michael, Thank you for your email. We still have quite a bit of parts we need to make, and that goes by demand. When we produce a new part now, we have to do a run of 20 pieces. If you're on a forum, and want to host a group buy that can garner 20 people including yourself, for pre-orders with deposits, we would love to make a Carbon Fiber hood for your Owners Group. Just let us know when you are ready. Best regards, Director of Marketing VISracing.com / WingsWest.com Fred V. 20465 E. Walnut Dr. N. City of Industry, CA. 91789 Phone: 909-839-1880 Fax: 909-839-2933

Nice what part of the southwest is this taken
  19. Our colors are turning here but you are ahead since your winter approaches with colder temps than us. Thanks hopefully I can post some decent numbers but some areas of where I will be driving will require ICE due to hilly conditions.
  20. Filled the tank and heading out in the morning to Sacramento via Apple Hill and back in 24 hours. Lets see what happens on mostly freeway (I-5) northeast from Sillycorn Valley
  21. Jus I want in on one of these I'd drive to SoCal for it if I had to. I just want to hang with other owners and shoot the breeze talking CMax :)
  22. Never heard of the AtoZ plan. I got out the door on my fully loaded Hybrid SEL at $36k and some change. Sweet deal in Monterey DrDiesel1, wonder if I could find similar deal in the south bay?
  23. with an offer like that it is getting REAL hard to not consider trading Maxus for an Energi. If I didn't still owe so much I'd just buy an Energi and get rid of the wifes Saturn Ion.
  24. WOW a free level 2 charger included? Then all you need is someone who will wire it to my house for free and I'm set, sign me up
