Strange, long wooooo sound at steady speeds, ICE on
kostby replied to Alex Sams's topic in 2013 Ford C-MAX Hybrid
OK. So I guess the next question is, did the dealer check all the speaker wiring to see if any speakers are wired out-of-phase? -
new partnership between subaru and toyota
kostby replied to Marc Smith's topic in Competing Products
It is another AutoBeYours um, "reanimation" (in the sense of Frankenstein, IMO). The first photo in this thread is actually the second creation, Pruck 2, and more photos of it are on this page: http://www.autobeyours.com/09%20Pruck%202.htm They have a salvage 2012 Focus Electric, so we might see some, uh, 'reanimated' Fords there some day. And there really IS a Subaru/Toyota partnership of sorts. The Subaru Indiana Automotive plant in Lafayette IN produces both the Toyota Camry (since 2006) and the Subaru Legacy and Outback. No electrics or hybrids yet. Toyota is discontinuing Camry production there with in the fall of 2016, and Subaru is expanding again. -

So how would you correct for proper phase? Reverse the connection wire polarity, like you do with speakers that are out-of-phase? -

765 C-MAX Hybrids and 395 C-MAX Energi Plug-In-Hybrids for a total of 1,160 combined sold in January 2015, an 18% decline from January 2014. Full tables and charts posted. You should be using owner.ford.com to look up information about US-built C-MAX vehicles, not etis.ford.com, per Tricia, the official FordService rep.

Serius XM Free Through Dec 3
kostby replied to ArizonaEnergi's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
(January 21, 2015) Sirius XM has a 2-month "free" offer for those with "pre-owned" cars equipped for SiriusXM. Of course terms and conditions apply, and if you don't cancel service before the free period ends, they'll bill you unto eternity. Maybe longer. ;) https://care.siriusxm.com/preownedvehiclestrial_view.action -
I have reported you to the moderators, and I urge every participant here who is bothered by your repeated use of abusive language to do the same!

Helpful hint for those of us who have to deal with frozen car doors every winter: The Hoppy-brand Sub Zero Bear Claw 10" ice scraper has a tapered wedge on the 'handle' end. It easily fits in the door gap and works perfectly for prying a frozen door open without damaging the door. A quick search shows many places sell them. I know this is a Ford Hybrid forum, but what are your thoughts about this Chevy Bolt EV concept? Claimed Stats: 4 passengers Full EV200-mile range Priced in the 30's AFTER an assumed $7,500 Federal Tax Rebate Presumed competition: Tesla Model 3 BMW i-3 Mercedes Does this vehicle compete with the current C-MAX Hybrid or Energi Hybrid plug-in? Most telling statement made by GM to the press: Chevrolet communications representative Michelle Malcho reiterated “it’s just a concept." Actually, the MKC is built on the same platform as the Escape, not the C-MAX. The Escape is classified as a Utility, so it makes sense that the MKC is also a Utility. (They and the C-MAX are all variants of the European Focus platform.) The only Lincoln hybrid model is the MKZ Hybrid sedan, based on the same platform as the Fusion Hybrid sedan. There is no Lincoln equivalent to the C-MAX hybrid at the moment.

Ford reported combines sales of 1962 C-MAX Hybrids and Energi Hybrids during December, 2014. https://media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2015/01/05/december2014sales.pdf http://www.hybridcars.com/december-2014-dashboard/ EDIT: Full December 2014 sales updated to tables and charts. As always, prior months tables and charts are deleted because each update contains all prior historical info.

To add photos to a new reply, first click on the More Reply Options button next to the Post button at the bottom of the reply text box A toolbar appears at the top with many options, including fonts, emoticons, and many other features. SCREENSHOT: If you are linking to a photo already online: (such as PhotoBucket, or a social media site that allows hot-linking) click on the Image icon It is a green box approximately under the Smiley Face Emoticon. It should say Image when you mouse over it, and then enter the URL of the image in the pop-up that appears. If the photos are stored on your computer: SCREENSHOT: Next, in the bottom left is the Attach Files section. SCREENSHOT: Click on the Choose Files button to select files from your computer. I'm on a Mac and Safari browser, so if you are on another browser, or Windows, your screens probably look totally different, but the steps should be the same. You can add more than one photo, up to a maximum amount of storage space available depending upon your membership account status. (Platinum members get more storage space.) It's a good idea to shrink very large images before posting directly. The "You can upload up to x.xx MB of files "number will be different than mine, because I've uploaded many images.

There are many Gasoline Stabilizers available, such as STA-BIL and others. Although they are priced and sold in small containers of a few ounces for small engines like mowers, and boats, they work fine in a larger vehicle as long as you add enough for the quantity of fuel. I won't recommend any brand, because I've only used one small bottle in the last 5 years with my snowblower fuel over winter. I also added it to my old 'summer car' when it was stored over the winter, but that was years ago, and I don't remember the brand.

Standard Stop/Start Makes 2014 Chevy Malibu More Efficienthttp://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/news.detail.print.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2013/Oct/1009-malibu-startstop.html "There are no buttons to push or procedures to learn with Malibu’s stop/start system. It automatically shuts down the engine when the car comes to a stop under certain driving conditions, such as at a stoplight. The engine automatically restarts when the driver takes his or her foot off the brake." Ever hear of Google? :)

As Christians we are called to share the good news of Jesus Christ, each in our own way. Thanks for sharing your faith, Brother Mike!

Two words: Caveat Emptor: "Let the buyer beware" If what follows seems like way too much work just to buy a used car, then this is probably not the right C-MAX for you: Become familiar with the New York lemon law for both new and used cars. Be certain you fully understand what happened in order for this vehicle to be repurchased under the new car Lemon Law. http://www.dmv.org/ny-new-york/automotive-law/lemon-law.php#New-Car-Lemon-Law Insist on full written dealership documentation for every service visit including every attempt to repair this vehicle before the Lemon Law repurchase, including dated repair orders, diagnostic trouble codes observed, recalls applied, technical service bulletins applied, any calls to Ford corporate for assistance and their responses, and every step taken to repair each defect. Learn what additional used car Lemon Law rights you have, and the specific legal limits on vehicle mileage and duration at the time of purchase for ANY used car from a used-car dealer in the state of New York. http://www.dmv.org/ny-new-york/automotive-law/lemon-law.php#Used-Car-Lemon-Law Make sure every salesperson promise and dealership promise is explicitly in writing and included as part of the sales contract. If there's anything you don't understand, ask questions. If you feel you need legal advice, ask an attorney BEFORE making a purchase decision! Finally: The Finance and Insurance office at the dealership is the place you traditionally go after you THINK you've agreed buy the vehicle for a "firm" out-the-door price. The F&I office is the place where most dealerships make most of their profit on car sales -- selling you additional high-profit-margin services, extended warranties, and accessories.

Merry Christmas, Brother Mike! What a great use of low-power lights on a car with a built-in 120VAC inverter! :worship: Have you driven it at night decorated this way? I'd guess you have startled a few onlookers! I never tried Christmas decorations, but I do have a set of red chili-pepper lights I used to decorate my "Salsa Red" Pontiac Vibe one time for a meet.

And this is why it's my last Ford product
kostby replied to valkraider's topic in General Discussion
PARDON ME WHILE I TAKE A MOMENT TO FEEL SO, SO :airquote: ABANDONED! My C-MAX didn't come with a turntable for 78's, 33's, and 45's, a reel-to-reel tape deck, an 8-track player, a stereo cassette player, or 8", 5 1/4", and 3 1/2" floppy drives for data storage, either. I just cannot understand what Ford is thinking, abandoning all those proven technologies so rapidly. Next thing you know, they'll go and remove the starting crank too.
