  1. Gee... I thought I had checked everywhere before I put my post in Batteries.

I got my 15B04 letter this week. I hope it just duplicates what the dealer did two months ago on the night before my appointment to deal with a faulty radio.

By the way, thank you all for your discussion on fixing apparently dead batteries; five minutes on a battery charger did the trick. I now have a portable jumper battery.

  2. O.K., has anybody got a recall notice (excuse me, Customer Satisfaction Porgram notice) #15B04 (dated May 2015)?

At 9200 miles my 2013 SEL turned up dead one morning (parked for more than 8 hours, away from home, about 25 miles from the nearest Ford dealer).  The radio had not been working for at least two weeks and I had an appointment to have it looked at.

Thank you guys, I re-read the conversations on this forum and attached a battery charger to it for about 5 minutes.  That worked.

Now, about two months later, I get this letter telling me my battery "may become discharged after the vehicle is parked overnight for for a short period of time."

With this Satisfaction Program, the dealer will

check the 12-volt battery and replace if necessary

         Update software in various modules

Inspect certain wiring and repair as needed.

I haven't had any problems since I charged it with the charger, and I now have a portable battery charger, so we'll see how things develop.

  3. Adrian:  While the line between an enthusiastic description and a commercial may be slim, I found this post to be valuable.  I've been considering a removable roof rack so I can haul lumber without destroying the interior.  I would prefer to take the roof rack off when not in use to preserve the aerodynamic profile of the C-Max.  Edgeskeez has pointed out another vendor and has done some of the research for me.

Edgeskeez:  Thanks for all the contact information; this is why I follow this forum.  While I may not use it, it's good to know that there's another supplier and that the design and support are good.

  4. Just wanted to say thanks to Jus-A-Cmax & C-MaxSea and all the others who've participated on this forum.  After playing with their suggestions I took a field trip to the mountains:  200 miles, over the continental divide twice, two-lane and freeway driving....44.4 mpg overall.

I'll put the details in the MPG thread.  I just wanted to encourage the other newbies to explore the forum.  Y'all have got some good stuff out there.

  5. Hi! Newbie to this forum. My C-Max was my Christmas present to me. I figured it would take a while to learn how to bring the mileage up above the 34mpg overall that I'm seeing now. Then I found this site. The 45-plus numbers I saw here made me wonder what I was doing wrong (...I've always beat the EPA numbers with my cars). Then I got 52mpg coming home to Denver over Memorial Day. So, I guess its "have patience and read the how-tos" on this site. As y'all know, this car is too much fun to worry about what the critics say.
