Sirius update 0% [stuck]

Why isn’t Ford recalling this part to fix it? I shouldn’t have to pull fuses every week when my audio system freezes in order to use my car and keep my battery from dying. They know this issue exists for everyone with this car. My 2013 has been in the shop for Sync resets and repairs almost monthly since buying it new and I’ve had it towed multiple times for the battery dying when the radio wouldn’t turn off. It has been towed twice in the past two weeks and now I’m having to either disconnect the battery or pull the fuses every time I park it because it needs a $500 audio control module replaced and it is out of warranty (despite it being in the shop for the issue monthly since the first month I owned the car). Thanks for everyone who has posted tips on how to pull the fuses and disconnect the battery. My Ford dealer used your tips today to teach me how to do it. :) -
The light on the dash that indicates the passenger seat airbag is off when the seat is empty is no longer illuminated in my car. When it first turned off, it came back on for a few minutes two different times the first day, but then never illuminated again. After a month or so, I had the dealer look at it during routine service and they could not find a problem or error code. They said "maybe it's not supposed to be lit" (so it was broken since July 2013 because it has always been illuminated before this?!?!). They told me that having a map in the pocket on the back of the seat was probably causing the system to think there was a passenger, even though the map weighs a few ounces and has been there the entire time I've had the car. After they fiddled with it, it still didn't work for the first 50ish miles after getting my car back, but then it suddenly turned on again for 3 days, then turned off and has stayed off for 4 weeks since then. My concern is that I don't know if it's a light problem, a loose wire somewhere, or an airbag problem... since no error codes are showing, how do I know if my airbag works on the passenger side? Anybody else had this problem? What was the cause and what was the fix? (I have a 2013 SE with around 115,000 miles.)

My service slips are all in the glove box of my car, which is currently in the shop for an unknown number of days... When I get it back, I will look it up and let you know!

All voice commands require repeating or clarifying from a list of choices. The main issue is that no one I call can hear or understand me anymore. They say it sounds garbled and far-away. I can't use the hands-free option if no one can understand me. I tried using someone else's phone (I have an iPhone and tried a friend's Android) to connect and the same thing happened, so I ruled out a phone issue. The dealership had a guy try it and they said they could understand him when he called. I don't know if it's because he was taller and had a deeper/louder voice... I'm short and soft-spoken, but it has always worked for me in the past.

Ford Tire Care - your experience? Mine so far...
Singoffpitch replied to CmaxBK's topic in Wheels & Tires
I have the TripleCare warranty and have had one tire completely replaced and one tire patched at no cost. I had no issues or extra time when using the warranty, but I was at a Ford dealership (but not the one where I purchased the car). The dealership had actually never seen the TripleCare warranty before and asked to make copies of my packet so they could get information for providing it to customers buying new Fords from their dealership.- 9 replies

When I googled the issue, I saw that the same part had been recalled on older Ford hybrids, but not the C-Max hybrids. My last 4 major issues on my car have all ended up having recalls issued a month or so after my car had the issue, so maybe Ford will end up recalling the pump on the C-Max, too.

Thanks. It's frustrating that they pick and choose which hybrid parts to cover. Luckily, I had purchased the extended warranty for my car and the pump was covered under that. I had to pay the $100 deductible for the warranty repair, but the rest was covered. I've had SO many issues with this car. :( I haven't heard from the dealership yet today about what caused the engine light to go on this morning. The pump was a different warning light, so it's probably not the same thing. I haven't seen the engine light for a few thousand miles, so I guess it was due again.

Thanks. It wasn't the water pump It wasn't the water pump. They said it was a cooling motor pump specific to the hybrid and different from a water pump. They fixed that problem. I have the extended 125,000 warranty that I paid extra for, but I thought all hybrid things were covered under the original warranty until 100,000 miles.

My cooling motor pump went out on my 2013 C-Max Hybrid last week. I have 86,000 miles on the car, but even though they said the pump is specific to the hybrid engine, the repair wasn't covered under the 100,000 mile warranty on the car. Today, my check engine light came on again and my heat stopped working. I'm waiting to hear what today's problem will be and if it will be covered under warranty. Has anyone else had the cooling pump go out? Why isn't this part of our warranty? I've been patient about the hundreds of repairs and recalls and issues with this car, but not when the warranty no longer covers repairs during the warranty period.

I'm having difficulty with my microphone picking up my voice. I can no longer use the hands-free phone option because no one can hear or understand me and when I use voice commands, it no longer understands what I say. The phone has never been very clear to people I call, but now it's unusable. I have never had issues with the voice commands until now. Has anyone else had issues with this? What was the fix? They couldn't find anything wrong when my car was in for service.

Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display
Singoffpitch replied to Bill-N's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I've had to have this fixed on my 2013 C-Max 4 times. A master reset of the Sync system usually fixes it for a few months. Then I just take it back for another reset when it freezes again. No one can figure out why it's doing it. They say there have been no other reports of this issue. -
Turn signal light
Singoffpitch replied to markd's topic in Electrical, Gauges, Instruments, Lighting, Rear View Mirror
I was charged to replace my turn signal. It went out after 2 years while still under warranty. It was not a cheap fix! That seems really soon to me since my 2001 and 2003 Fords have never had to replace turn signals and both have over 200,000 miles on them. -

My transmission broke and yours might too
Singoffpitch replied to bigalpha's topic in General Discussion
I'm just under 80,000 miles on my 2013 and the dealer thinks my transmission is going bad, too. They said it was a good thing I got the extra warranty because not all of the repair would be covered by the hybrid parts warranty. Isn't it funny how the hundreds (not exaggerating) of things that have gone bad on this car are not the things Ford is responsible for long-term. I plan to trade in this car at 99,999 miles because I won't risk even a mile over the extended warranty coverage with as many issues as I've had. I LOVE driving this car and might even consider a 2015 C-Max if the kinks have been worked out, but this is ridiculous. I bought a brand-new car for the sole purpose of ensuring my car didn't break down on me or need a lot of service with my long commute. That sure backfired. -
Frozen Or Delayed Update Of Radio Station Display
Singoffpitch replied to Bill-N's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
Has anyone found a real fix for this yet? My 2013 is currently in the shop for the third time with this problem. In the past, a complete system reset and software update fixed it, but this time, they can't get it working. I can't change the radio station with steering wheel controls or touch screen. If I change it manually with the scan buttons, it doesn't show the change on the screen and then randomly changes back to whatever station it was froze on when I started the car. I can't even turn off the radio with the manual power button!
