  1. Others have posted this, but that range is an estimate, based on the last power use. If you were using the heat or max A/C, for example, the power draw would be high, and thus have a lower estimated range. If you were gliding home in EV+, using little energy, you will get a higher reading. The MFT "Leaf" display shows the exact percentage of the HVB. It should read 100% when you unplug.
  2. I'm waiting a while as well. Just remember to go in before 35K miles, my dealer said there is something about that number that is important.
  3. I occasionally have an issue with the system, but in general if I follow the way it is programmed, it works for me, including routing to addresses while driving, changing the radio channels, etc. It is a microsoft product, and you have to adjust to how it is programmed, not vice versa - it isn't going to change. Having said that, if things happen like this thread, where the radio doesn't turn off, that sort of thing needs to be fixed by the dealer. But you need to go to a good dealer, with a good service department that cares.
  4. That is not the tank size, you were putting fuel in the filler tube and overflow. Not recommended. I never top off after the fuel shut off.
  5. The Highlander Hybrid is not a very good example. They put a 6 cylinder engine in that one, and it really didn't get that much better mileage. I never understood that logic. I had an Escape Hybrid, with the 4 cylinder. I got about 29 overall, but I also had mechanical AWD, and the later generation of FWD FEH could get 35 in town pretty easily. Compared to the V6, that is almost 80% better MPG in town.
  6. The Energi model qualifies for the carpool lane until 2019. Not sure how many green sitckers are left though. But if you bought a used one it might already have the sticker. EDIT: Sorry, I just saw that you are Northeast. The carpool sticker I was mentioning is here in CA. Might be worth checking out though.
  7. I was thinking of the EVs especially when I wrote 28K. I don't think there is anything wrong with the EV battery after a couple of years, it's just that the public perception is that a used EV is not as good. Too much experience with LiIon laptop batteries, I suppose.
  8. Did I understand you correctly that the FORScan is not available for Android yet? Also, I would think that WiFi would be preferrable, because I am already using a BT connection to the car.
  9. If you mean a new one, "cheap" would be maybe 28K. The used ones are going very cheap from what I've read. But a used electric does have a battery that holds less charge.
  10. I will probably replace my filter at the first oil change; for the Energi that is 20K miles or so.
  11. Yes, I knew that. We have a button on the dash depressurize the tank and open the fuel door. But you would think that the additional structure would make it smaller, not larger.
  12. Here ya go. Apparently they no longer make the black color, so I hope you like bright hues! The only problem I have with it is that it tends to be a lint magnet in the pocket. It was a bit hard to get on, but you only do that when a battery change is needed. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00HVHVIUG/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  13. Not necessarily fixing the problem, but for about $25 you can get a transmitter that plugs into the OBD port, and then get a phone app that will read the individual tire pressures. That would tell you if one of the tire sensors is bad - and you would know the tire pressure at any time you like.
  14. According to the Ford site, the C-Max hybrid is 13.5, and the Energi is 14. I have no idea why they would go to the trouble of having two sizes for the cars, especially when the Energi has the bigger battery - I would have thought it might have a smaller tank, not larger.
  15. I bought a cheap rubber cover for my FOB, which helps isolate the buttons, and I keep it in my left pocket, away from the mass of keys in my right pocket. I haven't had unexpected opening since I did these things.
  16. Every vehicle I've had for the past 12 years has run the A/C compressor when the defrost is used. Some of them allowed you to turn off the A/C light, but the compressor still ran. I believe you can achieve max A/C by simply putting the temperature to LO, fan to maximum, and turning off the recirculation. You don't have to use the actual MAX A/C button.
  17. They only had two on the lot in the Ice Storm color, and both had the pano roof. It was a pretty easy choice for me.
  18. The panoramic roof is a separate option from the 303a.
  19. 10 x 8.1 x 2.6 inches, that might fit under the driver seat in the floor?
  20. If you register on the ford owner site, it should show the maintenance history that was done by a dealer.
  21. It seems to me that a carfax might indicate that the vehicle had been bought back by the manufacturer. But I'm not positive. But if someone traded the vehicle in to the dealer because of battery problems, it would not show up in Carfax.
  22. Wow, I thought our market was high here in LA. Ours is a 1951 build, about 1450 sq ft, valued at around 400K or so.
  23. Yes, especially in the past. These days you can get the offical Ford ESP warranties from dealers over the Internet, and the local dealer will generally match the price.
  24. Most of the probems did seem to happen with the SE model, unfortunately. However, one incident in a year does not indicate a systematic problem. It is also possible you just got a bad battery. I'd wait for it to happen twice more before giving up. Also, did you buy it new? After three major failures like that, you could go through the buyback system because the car is a lemon. Folks have done it.
  25. In general, I think my time is worth the extra expense. I generally go near the speed limit, which here in LA is usually 65. Traffic generally moves 5-10 MPH faster.
