  1. The last post here is 16 months old. Is there any new information, perhaps from Ford, about whether a C-Max can be used to jump start another vehicle? Would love to know the manufacturer's recommended solution...
  2. Ford press release... https://media.ford.com/content/fordmedia/fna/us/en/news/2014/12/11/ford-sync-3-delivers-new--innovative-ways-for-people-to-connect.html from Automotive News... http://www.autonews.com/article/20141211/OEM06/141219981/ford-dumps-myford-touch-name-in-revamp-of-infotainment-system "...Vehicles equipped with MyFord Touch will not be able to upgrade to Sync 3."
  3. I recently purchased a 2013 C-Max that was on a dealer lot since last year. It only had 300 miles on it and they made me a pretty good deal so I pulled the trigger. I was trying to determine if the fuel efficiency update has been performed on my vehicle (13B07.) Is there any way I can figure that out without taking it back to the dealer? I bought the car out of town and would like to avoid driving back if possible. Also, is there a general consensus as to whether the update is a significant improvement? Pros? Cons?
  4. two cents - I'll probably go with the split spoke OEM wheel from the Fusion. a quick eBay search shows more than a few Fusion owners replace their wheels and sell the OEMs, often with tires. So not too hard to find a set reasonably priced. From what I can gather the specs are almost the same; CMax appears to be a 7 inch, Fusion split spoke is 7.5 inch. I looked at aftermarket, but decided I prefer an OEM look. Sort of. You can also get an interesting look at Euro C-Max OEM wheel options here - just to see what different types of wheels might look like... http://www.ford-accessories.co.uk/gb/en/6/35 I will post again if any issues arise.
  5. Thanks Frank! I think that's all I really need. I'm just trying to explore my wheel options before taking the plunge on a CMax; my assumption is the closer I stay to the factory wheel specs the less likely I am to run into issues.
  6. thanks for the help. i looked through the thread and saw where you posted the offset for the 16" wheel but i couldn't find the 17" number. i believe i saw in another forum that it was +55mm but i also read somewhere else that it was a different number. i also looked at the fordparts schematic, and while i see the type 1 and type 2 wheels listed, i can't tell what the difference is (other than price.) i tried to crawl under a friends cmax to find the wheel stamp, but no luck. i will post again when i know more...
  7. I'm not a CMax owner (yet.) Does anyone know the specs for the factory CMax wheel? Offset?
  8. Greetings - I am a potential CMax owner and have a question about wheels. We are looking at buying a lightly used 2013 CMax SEL. My wife and I have talked about maybe swapping wheels just to make the CMax a tad more sporty; our preference is to use another Ford OEM wheel rather than an aftermarket wheel. From what I can gather there are several Fusion wheels that have the same bolt pattern - 5-108. We like (what I gather to be) part number DS7Z-1007-N. When I spoke to the parts department at the Ford dealer he told me that he couldn't guarantee compatibility. When I asked why he said that there might be clearance issues with the calipers, etc. He said he wasn't certain that they were incompatible, but that he wasn't sure they were, either. The wheels are non-returnable. Obviously I don't want to buy wheels that won't work. Does anyone have any experience or knowledge on this? Also, when I was looking at the Fusion wheel part numbers, there were two - one described as "type 1" - the other described as 'type 2." The type 2 wheels were significantly more expensive. Any idea what the difference is? Thanks!!
