HI Gang, it been a while. As it always happens, you can't plan on breaking any records in the Southeast in the fall, be it a hurricane or in this case a pipeline break, ugg, I'd just started my attempt to break my previous record in the late summer, early fall weather. (I Can't live without my AC in the hot GA summer sun) When the pipeline broke. Now with A/C, I now normally hit the high 500 to low 600 mark with E0. I had started my attempt to break my previous record and I was well on my way to getting close to a record on that first tank for the fall season. Oil changed. Tires inflated to 45psi. GAS PANIC!! With only 200 miles left on the first tank, and not sure how bad it was going to be, I toped my car off with E10, Shell 87. 8.5 gallons worth. Just ugg.... bye, bye 600-mile tank. So I'm riding along in super gas saver / crisis mode, I'm going to make this tank last as long as I can. Nothing above 55mph, no AC, no heated seat :-( no day driving lights. No extra trips. For what ever reason, the miles left did not indicate I had enough fuel to get home, so I had to add more full. O well So close, yet so far in breaking my record, in hostile conditions.

. Like I indicated, I'm used to seeing 60 to 70 mpg gallon on two previous tanks from this station. On two previous fill up. The engine has been warm after about a 20 mile drive. The trip is about 30% Uphill, 50% level, and 20% downhill. This trip is more of an anomaly than anything else. I could understand a small jump, but this one doubled. Just odd

Ok, after a few unexpected trips, I finished my 3ed tank a little early. Tires were at 35 psi for the first 150 on this tank, and bumped up to 40 for the remainder. I may bump up to 45 at the end of the fourth tank to get a general idea of what each tank looks like at 5psi differentials. There is some lunch time idoling on this tank, and its gotten to hot to go without AC so that hurt my expectations by about an estimated 30 miles.... Ok, for some fun, normally after a fill-up, I avg between 60 to 70 mpg with the E0 from the gas station, this is my first trip after 40psi It's a short trip, and I know it fairly well, The speed limit is 35 which I match at all times. No A/C Several stop lights which I got caught at. Its just darn odd.

Question on Tire Inflation. How drastically is the stoping distance changed, especially on wet roads when you over inflate... 45, 50 etc....

I now have two stations with E0 87. The Price is about the same is E10 89.... about 20 cents more a gallon. I'm almost done with my 3ed tank. It's going to be better than expected. I had two unexpected trips that drove the number up, but nowhere close to 700.

After giving up on ever joining the 600+ Club, My best was 585 before chickening out in my 2014 SE. I had a nice surprise recently. A new gas station opened up near by that offered E0 gas. This is my second E0 tank. Remembering that it usually takes the Max one tank full to adjust to a new fuel mixture. I didn't bother to reset my trip meter, big mistake, I think this may very well be my second 600-mile tank or close to it, so no pic, can't prove it. The car really behaved differently on the first tank. It run quieter, and not as hard on the trip home from the station. I normally run shell or bp..... I normally run 475 to 525 before topping off the tank under normal driving conditions. Top speeds, heat, AC, etc..... 35 to 50 surface streets and 65 to 70 mph highway. I avg about 43 mpg last summer... Better than avg so I was happy. This tank I turned off the heated seat, pulsed the A/C, when I could remember to turn it off, Avg my speed 35 to 45 surface streets, and 55 to 60 highway. Driving conditions are about 30% surface street and 70% expressway.... Hilly, ......with the odd side trip from time to time. This tank could have probably been better, way better. Leaving the AC on longer, idling in the parking lot. during lunch... about half a gallon there.. rainy days, the cruise control being flakey, I really need to get that fixed, and here is the real kicker.... I will admit to being lazy.... I didn't check the tire pressure on this tank, until after this pic .. and a quarter way into my 3ed tank.... I haven't checked the tire pressure in some time. It was down to 36 psi on the driver tire and 35 psi on all the others. That has now been corrected with a noted difference after the first trip. It will translate on the 4th tank. I have no idea if this will have any effect, but I'm on 7k past the last oil chance. No mods, I have no interest in a 700-mile tank, even if I think I could do it if I drove 45 mph all the time. After a 40-mile road trip at 45 mph. I Avg 59.5 mpg on the under inflated tires. I'll try to answer any questions.... Anticipated 3ed tank results... 630ish.. tank moniter says about 670... We all now the computer is not the best

Wish I had seen this thread earlier. Home address in Urban areas, spot on, in rural areas, almost spot on, about 1000 feet off. In Ubber Rural areas, That address dose not exist, and a Walmart almost 3 miles from its actual location in the search function. The data base needs serious help.

Humm... I don't notice a jump when I take my foot of the break on a level surface, but as soon as I put a feather on the gas pedal, it jumps. I've never experienced anything like it in the 13 different varied cars, trucks, box trucks, I've driven in the past. It was a new experience which I have adjusted to and just use the break and take my time. Now when I've having to back up a slope, there is not enough torqe to get me to back up, so I have to press the gas, and it jumps each and every time. I now have 10k under my belt on this car, which I love, but I would love to see a smother motion for reverse in this car when I do have to press the gas pedal. Hope my experience helps. (76 Ford Country Square Station Wagon loved and hated it, 80 Olds Cutlas Supreme, 87 Pon. Grand, Pri, 89 Cad. Eld, 2001 Impala, where my personal, vs... loan cars... 85 Chevy Silvarado 4x4, 83 Buick Riviara, 96 Olds Avira, 2001 Dodge 1500, 96 GMC Small Pickup of some type..., 2013 Ford 150, 2014 Ford Escape Eco, and my personal favorite, vs, 199xxxx International Box Trucks with those push button transmission box trucks which I had to move around in the yard.) Please Ford, come up with a fix.

So what dose the Dealership Service Techs check on a service inspection???? Do they visually check the fluid level and color/smell, or just look for leaks???? Is there a after market solution to adding a dipstick to this the CVT????

Just had the car serviced yesterday. Inquired about getting paperwork on a psi update paperwork.... got the ... The pressure gauge must have been faulty, we will test with two different pressure gauge excuses. Some please remind me why I'm paying premium prices at a dealership, vs, having my co-workers at Wal-Mart do it in the automotive department (17 year associate, there might be a incident or 2 year at my store.) ???? I could have slept in, checked in my car at work, clocked in, and left at the end of my sift. 3 hours of my life gone. Do the dealerships even check the fluid level's in the CVT, plus color to see if its burned up, or do they just look for leaks???? Is there a after market solution to adding a dipstick to the CVT????

So you got a car with a bad strut mount. It's not the end of the world. If it bothers you that much, trade it in for a Toyota orHonda. I hear their cars are so reliable that they never have recalls or mechanics in their service departments. That would be Roll's Royce, they never break down. \ As to the rest of the post, It's called MASS PRODUCTION

Well looking at the debate on the tire pressure, everyone might find this interesting. I keep my car at the ratted psi for the car. In this traffic you never know when someone will cut you off in your comfort zone or when you'll be driving on wet roads. Well anyway, the last time I had my card serviced at a Ford Dealership, back in March, my tires were inflated to 45psi. vs. th 40 on the door. I was not a happy camper, still need to talk to them when I go back in about 1k miles.... but the statement I got when I took it in was they set the car to spec. Happy camper when I discovered they had upgraded to 0w-20... can't really find anything on the tires... ya this is in another thread, but thought I would pass it along in this one.
