  1. Thanks for the information. Where do you look to see if they are open? And, if not open, is this an easy adjustment? Thanks again
  2. Hi. Check engine light came on. Dealership scheduled replacement of grille shutter. ~ $1,000. Is this reasonable cost? Can this be ordered and replaced? Thanks!
  3. Hello, Are there 2 splash shields on the underside front of the car? When looking at parts online, I've seen a smaller one and larger one that are both identified as engine splash shields. My daughter told us hers got caught on curb and is hanging down, but she said it was hanging down at least a couple feet back. Is there one piece that can be replaced or are these two separate sections? 2014 CMax Hybrid SEL Thanks!
  4. Thank you, I will try that. Is this specific to the 2013? We also have a 2014 SEL hybrid that has never had problems. My daughter has it at college with her.
  5. Hello, I have a 2013 C-Max hybrid. Had an issue about a month ago when the radio stopped working. Touchscreen wouldn't work. Power button wouldn't work. Everything else on screen phone/climate/navigation was working fine. Less than a week later, went to leave for work and my car was completely dead. Had to use manual key to enter. We were able to jump it. Took to Ford dealer, had them replace the battery (they couldn't find anything wrong with it, but it was 6+ years old so had them replace it). Had 120,000 service, also had them check the alternator. Completed a recall service. Everything seemed fine. About 3 weeks later, the radio died again. Thought maybe was coincidence and was going to check fuse when we had time. 3 days later, go out to start car and again, completely dead. Had to open with manual key. Tried jump starting, nothing. still completely dead. Will have to have towed to dealership. Has anyone have something similar happen? Thanks!
  6. I have a 2014 SEL hybrid. My service technician had said I should have my transmission fluid flushed and refilled. Am at 110,000 miles. Forward 3 weeks, I wanted to get it scheduled this week. Only time that would work out. They had no openings. Called another Ford dealership in area. Full also. Last one had an opening, but he told me don't have transmission fluid flushed, it can damage CVT transmissions. I told him that a flush was what the other dealerships were trying to schedule. He said he didn't know why they would say that, but he would check his information. Came back and told me he was correct that it shouldn't be done to a CVT transmission. Who is correct, and why would dealerships have such conflicting information. Was not a misunderstanding of words since I discussed flush vs empty/fill. Looked online and there are also conflicting statements concerning if a flush can be damaging to transmission. Mostly chemical and debris concerns. Suggestions? Thank you
