  1. Jerry and I are going to the North American International Auto Show in Detroit. Can't wait to see the display and maybe talk to some Ford folks. If I get any pix I'll post them later. Have a great day, everyone!
  2. Thanks Jus, Given all the people I see w/Bluetooth devices screwed into their ears (me included), I figure there's someone out there with a Ford with SYNC who has dealt with this. But I have my meeting on Monday at 6, if all else fails.
  3. OK, so here's what part of the problem is...........I have a Motorola Droid 4 and a Jawbone Icon Bluetooth earbud. Because of family health issues, I wear the earbud whenever I'm not near a landline phone...... If the earbud is on when I get in the car, the SYNC will not recognize the phone. I get that it can't handle the competition for control :>) If I turn the earbud off first, then start the car, phone and car SYNC. If I am on a call when I get out of the car, I can turn the earbud on, and after a few scratchy seconds, the call switches to the earbud. If I am NOT on a call and switch the earbud on when I exit the car, the earbud won't work and I have to repair it with the phone If I leave the earbud on when I get in the car, and don't SYNC, I can make calls w/the earbud but other SYNC functions that require phone won't work. AND when I exit the car, the phone/earbud may or may not work........it's a crapshoot. If the earbud is on when I get in the car and I start the car w/o turning the earbud off, I may or may not be able to turn the earbud off and SYNC the phone with the car.....sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. If I am nowhere near the car, just me, the earbud and the phone, I can make and receive calls til the cows come home with no problem. I've had the phone since September and the earbud with a diff. Droid, since last year. If you read this far, and your eyeballs aren't bugging out on stems, and you have any suggestions for making these 3 toys play nice together, I'd appreciate hearing them. 4. HAHAHAHA! Jus.....your AUS accent, my Southern accent......both really throw it!
  5. For me, voice command just plain doesn't listen. Even tho it says the phone is always on, when I hit the paddle and say a name to call, it says; Please say a command. So I say the name again and it says: Please say a device name. Remember, phone is always on. You can say, blah, blah, blah yackity schmackity. FINALLY I say: Phone. Ok, Phone, please say a command. After the 4th try, it may or may not make the call. I'm meeting with the tech guy at my dealership on Monday to go over some of this.
  6. Hi Nick, and welcome! I think you'll find that you learn the basics pretty quickly, but continue to learn new stuff over time. This forum is a great place to pose questions that you can't immediately find the answers to in your manual or thru following threads here. It's an intelligent and resourceful pack of folks. We look forward to hearing about your adventures with your C-Max. Adair in Michigan
  7. Sorry for the confusion....I was talking about the dash, steering wheel, parts of the door panels, etc. being dark, not stitching on the seats.
  8. pkay, I have the Medium Light Stone leather in my Blue Candy SEL and I really like it. It's more light tan-ish than grey. The darker trims complement the light stone color of the seats. I didn't want all black because it's..........well, dark.........and because it will be so hot in the summer. I had this color interior on my Jeep Liberty and it was no problem to keep clean. On another note, have you been, or are you going to the Auto Show?
  9. Jus, I think I'm using a version of your ICE High MPG on these brutally cold days. It's been -9* to a high of + 9* these past few days and I can barely coax EV for a total of 4.5 out of my 17 miles to work. That's with using the remote start, heater and bun warmers all the way. But using the ICE High MPG at lower speeds on my back roads is allowing me not to lose any mpg and actually gain a smidgen over the course of the trip. The battery is still almost full when I get to work, which it never is. Still, with this weather, plus my husband driving a couple of times, and this is gonna be my worst tank so far. The good news is...........Spring is just around the corner, right guys? RIGHT?
  10. A SYNC Status check or a SYNC update from Syncmyride.com? And if so, how did it go? They told me at my dealership yesterday that I have the latest version. Syncmyride says I have Gen2 V3.1.1. But I keep hearing about a 3.5 version. Does anyone have that yet?
  11. Trash bag hangs over the gear shift. Purse on the passenger seat, unless there is a passenger, then it's in the back seat. Cell phone in purse, unless there is a passenger, then it hangs on a ClipHanger on the dash. Umbrella and scraper under the seat. Maps in the door pocket. Notebook and pen and hand sanitizer in the bottomless pit. Sunglasses and extra eye glasses on clips on the visor. And, peculiar to me, a small folding table in the back. I work the water stations for my daughter's marathon training team. Also in the back is a Bag 'o' bags for grocery shopping. Where do you get those moisture disks, Rachel?
  12. HI Gultim, I have to agree with Ron, Laurel, and Jus-A-CMax here. No, it's not a conspiracy, and we're not ganging up on you :) But I'm going to chime in as someone who lives in Michigan and has driven my C-Max thru some cold days here. My lifetime average according to Fuelly.com is 36.6. Our temps have been in anywhere from 9* to mid 30s most of the time. But our January thaw last weekend saw me with a new tank of gas and averaging 44 MPG. Temps were in the 50s, so I fully expect to see higher when the temps moderate even more. This week we're dropping again, and so will my MPG, but I'm not worried. I know my temps can't compare with yours.....I used to live in Duluth. But maybe my experience is a little closer to yours than some of our friends who enjoy warmer climates. I honestly don't think Ford fudged the EPA test. I think it was conducted under the EPA guidelines, which, sadly, don't mirror real life driving in any way, shape, or form. The good news is, ordinary folks are meeting and exceeding the EPA estimates, and I fully expect to come pretty close myself.....just not in Michigan winters. Adair
  13. Yeah, I was in Ann Arbor today and saw 2......count 'em 1, 2! Parked on Main St. I wanted to run in the restaurant and asked who owned them, but some semblance of restraint kept me from embarassing my daughter :worship:
  14. I had a similar experience that same weekend her in MI....altho it was *only* 55 here! Can you imagine what we'll feel like in the *real* spring?
  15. Mine does, if I push the lock button twice. Also, another neat feature, if a door is ajar, or the car was in stealth mode and you didn't remember to turn it off (easy w/push button start) when you lock it, the horn will honk twice.....calling you back to fix whatever is amiss.

Welcome, neighbor! You'll learn lots here! When did you order?
  17. Yeah, I thought the pole crash looked pretty bad too. I'm gonna try not to do that!

  20. Rachel, Well, I got my VIN # within 10 days of the order, (mid to end of October) but I didn't know about looking up the window sticker until the middle of November. I looked it up on 11.22.12, it said it would be build on 11.24.12, and I drove it home on 11.29.12..............now I only live about 40 miles from where it was built, so that's not a totally fair comparison, but.................Here's hoping that yours moves smoothly from now on, and by, oh, maybe, SuperBowl, you'll be tooling around in your new C-Max!! Oh, and what kind of wine does your dad make?
  21. WAHOOOO Rachel!! Do you have the link to pull up the window sticker and get the actual build date? That's when it gets really exciting! I'm not that far from Dearborn....Wonder if I could drive it down for you? I love Louisiana! :hysterical: Congrats on the great news!!
  22. Rachel, have you called Ford Customer Service directly?
  23. Near A2 Robert. But how did you get that from what I wrote?
