I feel bad for you too, Rachel! If you're ever in Michigan, we'll take a spin! Have you heard anything yet? Can Rebecca on the Ford C-Max FB page help at all? I'd be all over those people at the dealership.

I lost over 3 MPGs just in my driveway yesterday...
Adair replied to osiebosie's topic in Fuel Mileage
Ice storms there can be UUUUUUGGGGLLLLY! And when you have to chisel off the ice, that's what ya gotta do! Hopefully it won't last long. You'll be having warmer days before the rest of us, so you can report increased MPGs and gloat :happy feet: Just kidding! We'll all cheer for each other when the weather moderates and we see our fuel economy climb! -
I was approached by 4 different people, in less than 2 hours, asking about my car. (Must have been the bright sunshine, a rarity around here lately) shining off the bright Blue Candy exterior!) The first was a (I can't say *older* because he's of my generation) gentleman with a Vietnam Vets cap and suspenders. I had just gotten out at my doctor's office and he came up and said, " Well, how do ya like that car?" We proceeded to talk about the pros and cons of mpgs, handling in snow, acceleration, etc. I was pleased and happy to be able to talk intelligently about one of my new favorite topics, thanks to all you guys. Luckily I had gotten to the appointment 20 min. early because 10 were spent talking to this perfect stranger. I told him to go drive one and see for himself. The second was outside my beautician's. I had just parked and she was coming out, prob. a little younger than me. Very well dressed. Her: WOW, I really like your car! Love the color! Does it get good gas mileage? Where did you get it? It's a hybrid, right? We talked a few minutes more, and I told her to go drive one! # 3 was one of the beauticians inside. Probably in her 20s. Her: WOW!! What a cool car! I really love your car. What's that called again? It's new, right? Love the color! # 4 was my beautician, who saw me pull up. Didn't recognize me not in my Jeep. Don't know for sure, but prob. in her 30's. Her: You got a new car? What is it? Love the color! It looks roomy inside! Why did you get rid of the Jeep? and on, and on, and on. When I left, # 3 was talking about my car, which was parked out front, to the rest of the patrons. Which goes to show you..........our little C-Maxes appeal across generations, genders, and other strata that sometimes divide us. :wub2:

I didn't know I had automatic wipers!
Adair replied to osiebosie's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Yeah, pretty cool, huh? I didn't know either, but I was driving one day and it started to sprinkle. Before I could touch the wipers, they came on! Then I started messing with them and turned the automatic feature off. Had to pull out the manual to find out how to turn them on again. They were only overwhelmed one time.....we had a January thaw and lots of standing water in the road. A car came toward me, hit a puddle right beside me, and it was like an instant CARWASH! Took a second for the wipers to get up to speed, but in that second, I could see nothing :>D -
SD card for Navigation/Maps with new purchase?
Adair replied to wamba2000's topic in General Discussion
My salesman installed the SD card when I picked up the car. I haven't seen that message. -
Thanks for the tip ValkRaider :>)

Roggie 51 http://www.researchmaniacs.com/Ford/TrackFactoryCarOrders.html From Cmaxchat.com.........how to track your order with the vin #

I ALWAYS look forward to Spring, FoutsNC.............but now for another reason

LizM, That sounds a lot like my experience. I went not expecting to like the C-Max at all....planning on an Escape. First dealership salesman didn't know squat about the C-Max. 2nd dealership salesman knew a little more. We liked it, did online research, and ordered one. Now I forward all info I get to our salesman. I'm very happy with my C-Max.

Welcome Yo and Art! Your new C-Max is worth the wait.............I waited 6 weeks for mine and drove my salesman nuts. There is a ton of information on this site, as well as http://cmaxchat.com/ and http://www.mpgomatic.com/ Once you have your VIN # there are sites that will tell you the build date and allow you to print off the window sticker, which is useful in making sure your order is correct. You have lots of reading and watching to do, but it will help the time pass and at the same time get you you even more excited to receive your new car. Again, Welcome!

Jrust, what are your lowest temps? I'm in SE Michigan and we've had temps from +9 degrees - 30 degrees for most days since I got my C-max. My lifetime average is 36.5, according to Fuelly, I think...........see below. This past week we had temps near 60 and I got 44mpg with no effort at all.

MyTouch didn't want to shut off...
Adair replied to Jus-A-CMax's topic in Audio, MyFord, Navigation & SYNC
I had the *black screen of death* on Saturday. I was shopping, came out and started up the car and the screen was black, stayed that way for about 5 minutes, then rebooted and the clock was set to 12:00....even tho it was about 5pm. During the blackout, no radio, climate, nuttin'! Kinda freaky.....I'm so used to seeing all that. This was after the SYNC tech had me do a soft reset on my Droid to try to correct the voice-dialing problem. Don't know if the 2 are related or not. -
I haven't been able to get over 38mpg average on a tank of gas yet until today. Our temperatures have been in the 20s and lower until this week, with a steady rise to 55 today. I filled up on Friday and cleared all the settings and my agerage on this tank is 44.7!!! And that was with about 50% highway driving!

I apologize in advance if this is too far afield, but I know many of you drive or have driven other vehicles, and may have an answer. My husband has a 1 owner 1997 Chevy Venture that he bought used a few months ago. It has a small overhead console that shows temperature, average mpg and current mpg. There is no info about it in the owners manual and we can't find anything online. He called Chevy tech support and they couldn't help, suggesting that it might be an after market add on. He wants to reset it, and any other information about it. I can try to send a picture if that would help. TIA, Adair

That video is wonderful! He did such a great job with it, and it's so informative.

Exccellent!! Thanks ZhackWyatt

ZhackWyatt, How do you add the link to your Fuelly page so your stats show up? If I add the link, only the link itself show, not the picture/stats from Fuelly. Thanks in advance.

Who says it can't be done-Post Highs here-over 25 miles traveled
Adair replied to salprint's topic in Fuel Mileage
Trip home tonite, same drive as every day.....47 mpg. Temps were in the low 40s but the traffic was about the same. I can see the temps are starting to help. It's supposed to be 50 by Friday!! Yippee!! I may break out the shorts to go with the higher MPG I'm sure to get! -
Will look forward to reading that John! Will you post it here or under a new heading?
-
Welcome Wamba, and congratulations on your new C-Max! You will find a wealth of information on this forum, and people willing to share what we've learned so far. Ask anything....no question is too dumb. Believe me, I know :) .

Clock wrong again yesterday afternoon after work. It showed 8:19 am, which was about 10 minutes AFTER I arrived at work yesterday morning.

Thanks Darrelsd! Found it, but the picture is too large to upload. I'll work on that later. Time to get ready for work!
