Well done, Frank! Thanks for putting that together for CassyD!
-
Hi CassyD, If it's any consolation, my MPGs dropped immediately after the upgrade too, but slowly rose over the following month. I was told that there was a *break-in* period for the upgrade, much like that of a new car, only thankfully, not as long. By the end of the summer my commuter MPGs were back to, and in some cases above, the pre-upgrade. Freeway miles, not so much. We shall see what winter brings, since some of the features are supposed to help us in colder weather. Hang in there.....with almost all of us, the MPGs have gotten better. Also, just curious, was it hot/warm the day you had your radio problem? Adair

AHA!! That's the information I was missing! Thanks Bill-N!!! -
Headlights Auto on.....Auto Light Rain?
Adair replied to Adair's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
So if low beams, will the dash indicator light up? I guess I'll find out at 5...it's raining pretty hard now....but they may come on because it's pretty dim outside from the cloud cover and time of day, so maybe not a reliable indicator. I'll check that the next time it's raining in the middle of the day. Thanks!! -
Headlights Auto on.....Auto Light Rain?
Adair replied to Adair's topic in Glass, Lenses, Lighting, Mirrors & Wipers
Yes, but Saturday it was a moderate rain and the wipers were running constantly, and speeding up when sprayed by passing cars.........still no lights on. And we were on the highway for 45 minutes each way in rain. -
Where did you look that up CMax-Traveler? I wonder if it's winter blend here in MI already?

I have my headlights set to Auto On and they work beautifully, coming on at dusk and in the early morning......even coming on if I enter a stretch of overhanging trees. The wipers are set to Auto On and they work equally well. I also have tthe headlights set to Auto Light Rain (I've checked 3 times to be sure) and they don't come on even in a moderate to heavy rain unless I manually turn them on. (Then I have to be sure to remember to turn them back to Auto On) What step am I missing here? Can you not have them set to both Auto On and Auto Light Rain at the same time?

I agree. No one should be embarassed, or intimidated about asking a question. I know I asked some pretty lame one (in retrospect) when I first found this forum in late 2012. But it was only by asking that I learned. And everyone was so kind, helpful, and supportive that it encouraged me to stay around and learn even more. I'm glad you are going to stick around. With open conversations about this issue, hopefully it will be resolved soon and we can continue to grow as a high-energy, information-rich forum to be proud to welcome :noobie: s to.

CMax-Traveler, I'm sorry that something has happened to make you feel unwelcome. This forum was created to benefit *ALL* C-MAX owners. We have all been *first-time hybrid drivers* at one point. It should be the intention of the forum for the more seasoned driver to share what they have learned with the new owners......and there will be more and more of those.....and to continue to learn from each other.......in a non-judgemental environment. I hope you will reconsider and stay active on the forum. Everyone's input is valued.

I'm seeing the same thing in Michigan. Our temps have only begun to fall.....worse to come beginning this week. I was spoiled in more ways than good MPGs with the warm weather...............now I have to wear socks! and boots! :gaah: and long pants, and coats :rant2: :redcard:
-
With the exception of the SYNC lock-up issue this summer (which was easily fixed once the cause was identified) my C-MAX has been a joy! I love my car! :flirt: And who says people only join forums like this to complain?

I agree susanne. I'm entertaining the idea of trying the gaspods myself, and any information I can get from others on the forum will help me make that decision. We are entering the cold months here in Michigan and I don't relish the idea of giving up my high mileage tanks.....even for a few months! And thanks for commenting on this thread!

Tomorrow I am going to the dealership for the 8th time

pjurek99, check your private messages please. ( the little envelope to the left of your name at the top) -
Awwwww come on!!! What about the rest of us who want to know? I, for one, enjoy reading the updates!
-
And I agree with you 100% Frank. I don't want to see us head down a slippery slope to meanness and snarkyness. I've been on this forum since mid-December and I can count of the fingers of 1 hand (with a few fingers left over) the number of times I've been angered by a post...........until recently. Certainly, groups grow, change, and evolve as members come and go.....we have a split between early adopters and newer owners, each with different needs and questions. But change should not come at the loss of civility. I hope we (collectively we---as a group) can turn this back around to the positive site we all felt at home in.

Can I *like* this more than once? I'm glad someone noticed. Yes, Laurel is taking a break from the forum. Her voice and her insight will be missed. We hope she returns.

It's really not necessary to talk to people like this. To the point is fine, direct is fine, belittling, insulting, and rude is not.

Wow, Frank, I had totally missed that thread! I didn't have any luck last week, it seems. -
Way to go LizM!!! Nice to see you jump up a bunch of spaces!!! Well done! Post 1 is updated! :yahoo:

Hi GreenCHicago, There are several threads with posts relating to this..........including some that I posted. I was sorely disappointed immediately after the update, but *shock*, the engineers seem to be right. After a month or so, my MPGs gradually climbed back up............on my daily commute at least. Last tank was a PR tank of 620. But the most recent road trip........meh.......nothing to write home about. I'll post a trip report later, for anyone who is interested. Others, however, are seeing awesome returns on even highway miles. Don't give up yet, and do continue to post your findings. We're all still learning here. Adair

OK, gotta ask.....how many people and how much luggage? We just got back from 400 or so miles from Michigan to Indiana, basically flat, post update, 12,000 + miles on the car, eco-cruise set at 70 and we got 38.9 mpg. There were 3 people and equivalent luggage.

YAY mtb9153!!! You sure turned things around, didn't you!?! Way to go, and way to march right up to # 3 in a hurry!! Just curious....when you filled up, how much did it hold? I haven't had the nerve to go that high yet, or that far past 0. And thanks for posting what happened. Was it still rolling when you got the warning? Could you cruise on in EV for a bit? Or did you pull over right away and fill up from your spare?
-
Laurel, (or L'Oreal.....I kinda like that :) ) You have your updates scheduled for next week, the 16, right? I really believe you are going to see some positive changes to your mpgs after that!

Did they check the battery?

Ok, I'm missing something here.......come on Laurel, help me out here. I'm no good at these conversions. I'm stuck in the non-metric years!
