Corner impact bent the frame a few centimeters beyond tolerance, so car was totaled with $7700 in repair. But still runs great, just had new eCVT installed under warranty this spring. Under 80K miles. I'm in Baltimore. Anybody looking for anything in particular

My 2013 SE was totaled, mostly cosmetic damage on front end, but body shop claiming the part of frame where bumper mount shift beyond tolerance, and they have to drop the engine to repair. I just had Ford put in a new eCVT under warranty this spring. I'm keeping the car to part out, but figured someone hear might be particularly interested in the tranny.

Mileage and Build date for eCVT that have failed
VerbalK replied to Automate's topic in eCVT / Transmission
Most (all?) new car warranties carry over to subsequent buyers. You don't need to transfer anything. Car has been in for a week, waiting on the eCVT.... optimistically hoping to get back next Monday. Got a new Focus to tool around in, so that helps. -

Add me to the list... 2013 Hybrid SE, just shy of 75K. Last 40K are mine, mostly city. Anyway to lookup the build date online? The window sticker lookup tools seem to have gone kaput. Dropped it off this morning, noticed grinding bearings sound on Thursday. Thought it was a wheel bearing, but tire guy told me the "bad news." Was really depressed until I saw that the eCVT has a 100K coverage. Hopefully the dealer won't fight me. -
Man, really love everything "important" about my 2013 SE, but jeez, all the trim pieces are crap. Notice the lift handle was separating on right side. Fixed with some gorilla tape. and now about 3/4s of it popped off. Looks like the whole assembly is attached to four clips with thin strips of paperthin plastic. Looks like the part is about $100, but I don't know if that include the adhesive to attach to life gate (or how to remove the old adhesive without destroying finish. Anybody have a way of jury rig this (preferably without a roll of gorilla tape) http://www.oepartsstore.com/p/Ford_2016_C-Max/Release-handle-Rear-wo-rear-camera/54097336/AM5Z5843400AAPTM.html

It's def heat or sun related. Happened again today. Only seems to happen if I park in full sun on a 90+ day. Solution is to run car until interior cools. Stop car for a few minutes. Then start again. It's only the sound system that goes. The bluetooth still connects with phone, but won't work with hands free. I push the radio power , it looks like it's :loading", then turns off again. Maybe it's some wiring lead issue. I'm running for a dash cam in a few weeks, so I guess I can take a look. I have the APIM warranty extension flag in my sync account. I'm sure it's not really related, but maybe I can get a ford dealer to poke around for free.

So I read all the info about pulling jumpers and resetting system for audio problems, usually when the audio won't turn off... but I've had an intermittent problem with the audio not turning on. I've determined the issue is when I park in full sun at work. Temp usually has to be in the 90s. Until the car interior cools down (usually about 10-15 minutes for full A/C), then stop/start the engine, the radio and sound system (including bluetooth) won't operate. It will turn on for a moment, then snap off before any sound is initiated. I'm guessing this is some bit of circuitry that defaults off when over a certain temp. Anybody have any thoughts. I could always buy a sunshade, assuming the issue is somewhere in the dash area.

My lord, tried to do an oil change today, barely enough clearance to get to the drain bolt with a socket wrench. Didn;t want to strip or break it, So I'll bring it to a shop with my own oil and filter. Ive had it 9 months with 11K, still no light.

I noticed my passenger side compartment door seems to be busted. The latch seems to be intact, but any torque on the panel makes it slide out. Is it just a bad design, or did some sort of catch fall off that I'm not noticing? Any ideas on a cheap fix. I already used up all my gorilla tape jerryrigging the bum door panel fasteners.

Couldn't find exact fit on ebay, but found some other models for fords around 50. I might go to a junk yard to see if anything fits. I don't particularly care not having one, but in my neighborhood, you'll get a window busted if they can see a clean pair of socks in the backseat. Odd the thing I'm going to buy to prevent this costs more than anything I ever keep in the car.

Thanks, anyone happen to know if these fit any other models... or are at least close enough? I doubt any junkyards around here have many cmaxs... maybe if I drive through the wilds of Central Pennsylvania.

Bought a 2013 SE a couple weeks ago, and the retractable luggage cover was MIA (was it standard or an option?). DM5Z5845440AA OEM part runs around 170 plus shipping from most places. Is it interchangeable with any other models, or is there any cheaper aftermarket options? Also, what are the D-shaped rubber gaskets found with the side bungee nets for?
