  1. A good time of year for bargaining - Welcome Buffalofrenchy, and best wishes on the new Energi !
  2. Lots of opinions, pros & cons in the tire pressure dept, Tehuti, (even a thread around here somewhere). Like Jaz says, higher pressure = firmer (harsher) ride, and other trade offs like MPGs, wear, traction.......... Always a balancing act, and subject to geography, load & weather. For our rainy, traction sensitive enviro in Seattle, I am currently living in the 42 - 45 psi range. California with better roads, better weather ............... perhaps 45 - 48. Just my two cents worth; and nothing wrong with sticking with light load 38 psi. We are in the same boat with only 5000 miles, which means only about 2300 ICE miles, so a long way from the fullest measure of 'break-in'. I suspect you will continue to climb in MPGs. Keep enjoying the ride. Nick
  3. Yikes, Shelly, sorry about your 'loose load'. Ewwww is right, hope you get a little of the ol' 'new car smell' back - I think. Nick
  4. A snowflake version for Summer, and a sun version for Winter? Sun would have to have a blue halo ;) . PS I love your wallpaper. Trust it's OK to use, cause I have been - everyone likes it!
  5. Nice work again, Frank. The pics are too small to see anything. Looking forward to more pics/video. I don't have a clue, but based on your notes, looks like we may be seeing pods on the lower flanks? (not quite as sexy as on top) Or perhaps under the rear bumper? Or both in a 3-5-3 configuration ? I'll take 11, please. You are having way too much fun, Nick (Puzzled that few seemed to apprec./comment on your 13B07 results) (that is funny wab, but I don't dare 'like')
  6. Wingrider, we had ours done this week along with an oil change, tire rotation, 23 point inspection, battery test, brake test ............... 1.5 hours. Checked in at 9:30 am, checked out at 11:00 am. (So quick, I am inquiring to be sure they actually did all of the above - wish I had marked the tires) The 13C07, Reprogram Instrument Cluster was first, and showed itself to me after pick up, in that I had to reset my personal preferences for the driver dash gauges: enhanced trip, my view, right display..... Nick PS A nice 4 page report and really great service !!!
  7. Nice Chryssa. You have extra challenges with your Energi space. Any pics? Nothing like hauling truck parts in a 'small car'. Nick
  8. That will be interesting to watch. They do have the advantage of higher voltage circuits everywhere. Quicker charge without rewiring.
  9. Lost down the 'black hole' of checking. (guy looking down a well)
  10. Congrats mlaurence, well done! Love the 75 miles & 60 MPG. Sounds like here a bit - tough to find flattish drives for the best tanks. Nick I like the small images to click on - saves thread space.
  11. Very cool ! looks great. Has Dad put a limiter on this, or just good judgment? (Don't let mamma Adair see this :) )
  12. That's tuff luck Wamba, and certainly understandable to fill up. I've had a couple 'head scratchers' also, where the difference was a little screwy. Sometimes being on a grade can whack things out. I have to question the accuracy of the pump too. I suspect you were actually somewhere in between 45 and 49. Just my 2 cents. Your weather should be favorable for the next few months. Great try. Nick
  13. Regarding the first one from Frankfurt, Germany. Is Ford launching the Energi in Europe, or just show-casing it to that audience for feedback? It is almost certainly a 2013 from here. Regarding the second, I would guess the vendor is just trying for hits by posting way early and using 2013s for props. Cheap trick? Nick (Jus, Feel free to zap the 2nd one if it looks too shady) (having too much fun here)
  14. I am sorry to hear of your Energi / C-Max issues Cmaxguy, and I think that goes for all of us here. We certainly would hope your buy-back proceeds well. Keep in mind that this is the hybrid forum, so we are not necessarily familiar with Energi specific issues. Also please keep in mind that many of us are surviving / thriving well with our first year C-Maxes. It is a very complex vehicle, and first year models of this complexity are challenges for all car companies. Many of our dealer visits are to be expected for a first year car. I've been in for service only three times, two oil changes and one 'update' trip. By combining things it has been exceedingly smooth. Yes, perhaps I am one of the lucky ones having a great dealership - I enjoy visiting them. Also remember that CR is dealing with comparative data from limited sources. Yes they may be "spot on" with something, or some things, but car ownership is much more than just that. Again, my sympathies, and I hope your buy back goes well, Regards, Nck
  15. I assume serious model year fudging here, but what the heck; as we know, there will be almost nothing new to look at anyway. 1, is a yawner; 2 ahh, OK, cover your ears on the MPG lines, but that Ruby Red is sure a 'looker'; & 3 kind of fun (2013 Energi). 1. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KuFINYuV0AA 2. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkvBForCkkQ 3. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H4Inv4IO76w Just for fun, Nick
  16. Ditto here, thumb drive in 24/7 - no problems. ('Knock on wood')
  17. :nonono: :nonono: :nonono: Oh, the shame of driving the 'least reliable' car in the nation ! I can only imagine the pain you Energi drivers must experience   - and laughing all the way to the bank ! :yahoo: Enjoy those Energis ! (Wish I had one, but happy with the simple hybrid.)
  18. That's a hoot Wab. It has happened to me many, many times, both with my VW Eurovan key with buttons, and my garage door opener with a very small inset button. Gardening with my manager (wife), bend over - zap, there goes the car lock; turn mowing the lawn, there goes the garage door, playing with the kids .................................. Had to develop several hiding spots to leave keys around outside while working or playing. And I still forget half the time. :gaah:
  19. Yust a couple of street buskers who found a stage. Carlos Vamos & Lindsay Buckland. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnzLlbKS73M
  20. Dynamite YouTube! Thanks Jus. Nothing like good 'kid therapy'! We are celebrating four first birthdays in the next month in our extended family. It was hoppening last November! (Actually it's more hoppening now that they are all starting to walk.) :bliss: :bliss: :bliss: :bliss: Best, Nick (Yikes, did someone say dump, time to move away from the changing table)
  21. Great driving Wamba, you have it 'made in the shade'. The tank is 13.5 plus a little, depending on how you filled it - assuming you filled it on level ground. Looks like you have a good 2 - 2.5 gallons still, that should be easily 100 miles, likely 120, 130 .... all subject to your foot, the road & weather ahead. Stick with the 25-55 zones, easy on the AC, and easy peasy 600 to 675. Welcome aboard in advance !!! PS You have 'enough gas' to get 600 on the freeway at this point: 65-68 MPH (fair weather) =45 MPG
  22. It's only one opinion about one aspect of car ownership, it's only a limited & flawed tool. The 'reliability' of a complex item is always 'worse' than a more simple one - especially in introductory years and with introductory year owners. ;) ;) ;) one of the lucky 99% trouble free, nick Great note Phil, but we do love our MFT / infotainment, a significant reason we bought in. Sirius 42, darlin; oh & pass the Poupon. PS Note to Ford - TAKE CARE OF OUR FRIENDS IN CANADA ALREADY - blankity, blank fools at Ford - ARGH!
  23. You should see me make Linguine Ai Fruitti Di Mare - oh, wait that's Italian !
