  1. Thought I would give my two cents worth. My 2013 Cmax with about 72,000 miles on it started making the low whining sound. I let it go for a while before deciding I should look into it. Took it to an independent shop and they said it was the hybrid transmission and I would need to take it to a Ford dealer. Went to a Ford dealer and they also indicated the hybrid transmission was failing and needed to be replaced. The Ford dealer quoted me about $7,700. The independent shop quoted me about $6,700. So, I had it replaced at the independent shop.
  2. I have a (used) 2013 SE and experience the dead battery issued. However, I discovered that each time I forgot to turn off completely the climate control on the car at night, I would find the battery dead the next morning. So for me, there must be some drain on the battery when leaving the climate control on. I mentioned this on another post in the maxhybrid forum (not sure where I posted it) and one person replied that they doubted my "fix" was really a "fix," I stand by what I wrote back then because since I made my original post I have had the dead battery problem twice and both times as a result of my not turning off the climate control the previous night. Hope this helps.
  3. We have two CMax, a 2015 and a 2013. I bought the 2013 used and had a dead battery after two weeks and another after 3 months. After the last dead battery, I changed one thing and have not had a dead battery for going on 6 months. I turned off the climate control/fan every time I parked the car. I had left it "on" the night before my second dead battery. So, you might try turning everything off before leaving the car overnight (or whenever you park it) and maybe that helps. I also bought a battery tester that plugs into the 12V spot to test my battery and the charging system since the second dead battery and every time I am getting a good reading. So here hoping by turning off the climate control/fan all the time when I park takes care of the problem.
  4. I bought a 2013 used CMax hybrid. Two weeks off the lot and had a dead battery. Took it back and they replaced the battery. 30 days later, dead battery. Took it to a different dealer and had them test the battery and vehicle (they did not find any electrical leakages). Six months later, no issues with the battery. Why? Am not sure, but I recalled when the battery lost its charge the second time, I did not turn off the climate control system (left the fan and maybe heater/ac in the on position). Now every time I park the car, I turn off the climate control system and fan. And I have not had a battery problem. I bought a unit to check my battery status and charging and everything is showing "good." So, I am hoping that by turning off the fan/climate control system I will not have a dead battery problem. You may want to try this and see what happens.
  5. We have a 2013 SE CMAX and a 2015 SEL CMAX. When playing store-bought CDs, we do not always get the display of the CD title and song on the screen. Can anyone tell us why this is and how to fix it so it shows both the CD title and song playing? Thanks.
