This issue has been on and off since I got the car, but has become a more frequent weekly occurance now. The issue is when I park the car and power it off, instead of going through the motions of showing your driving summary and doing that soft shutdown before actually turning off it immediately powers off, the screen goes black and the car is unresponsive, it will not turn on immediately, if I give it some time it will then power back on. But it doesn't respond to any input. Could just be in my head, but I feel like if I bring the key fob to the steering column when trying to get it back on, it seems to be more successful, does the C-Max just instantly shut off if you hit the power button and it doesn't sense the fob nearby, or is there something more to this? At the same time, I'm about to unlock/lock the car from a great distance using the keys, so its not like the batteries are low.

Bought a used C-Max SEL in November, very happy with it. But last month we had our first dead battery, we thought it might have been the lights but we honestly don't think that we did. We jumped it and took it home, no problems, then two days ago we tried to start it and got nothing, we saw a yellow wrench on the dash that said check manual, error message stating it was the power train, we jumped it to see if we could get it to start, and it finally did. Thought we'd have some luck will the end of the week when we could get to the dealer but again we faced the same problem. This car just passed 37000 miles, 1000 past the 3 year 36000 basic, are battery issues/drain covered by the the 5 year power train? I assume since its part of the car responsible for starting it , it should be. Has anyone had any hassle dealing with this with the dealership after this point? I just wanna know before I go in there what I should expect the dealer to do. On a side note, anyone who suffered this issue in the past, did past recalls fix it? It looks like the car did not receive the 2015 update, hopefully its that simple, I just hope the battery isn't the culprit.

I just purchased a used 2013 C-Max Hybrid and I LOVE the car, its fully featured and drives well. I do a have a few questions about whether my vehicle has problems. The first one is, I noticed the car does not have the "foot activated" hatch, after doing some research, this should be a feature on all SEL models of the 2013 hybrid? Or this Energi only? I looked at the owners manual and it states as long as it has an intellisense key (which I do), it should work? Is this something I will need to get fixed or not a feature? Secondly, I noticed the car will always go into gas mode once the battery on screen has 35% left, I know how to drive the car to keep it in EV mode, but no matter what the car will kick into gas mode with this amount of battery left, I can play with the pedal to get it back into EV, and then it shortly goes back into gas. It seems like the battery capacity on this car is already used up quite a bit, or is this just normal behavior for this car? EDIT: FYI the car has bout 37000 miles on it, but I figured the battery would not lose 35 percent so quickly.

Questions about warranty on used 2013 Energi.

Thank you, quick question on the side. I hear the biggest complaint about the C-Max's is overnight discharge of the battery, has this been fixed with the recent recall? Are the SEL/Energi models affected or is it just an SE thing? Thank you again for all your help. -
Questions about warranty on used 2013 Energi.
Edgar replied to Edgar's topic in Buying, Order and Leasing
Can I buy that from Ford? Or would I have to do that through the dealership? The dealership is an offlease place that sells cars just outta there lease, they offer extended warranty but I am concerned the hybrid portion, which I am most concerend about, would not be covered. -
I am looking into buying this vehicle as a local commuter for my family, I found an Energi model, 2013 for 10999 and am interested in picking it up. I am concerned about the cost of repairs for anything associated with the hybrid system, the car has about 40000 miles so the powertrain is going to come up shortly, but the hybrid warranty, I am unsure of how much I have. It looks like the car was bought in Arizona, so it has the 10/150,000 warranty, but I am buying it in FL, which does not have that law. Is the warranty transferable anyway? Its a huge concern to me because I am afraid the cost of repair out side of warranty will be overwhelming, its the only factor preventing me from making this purchase. Any insight into this is highly appreciated.
